Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
Over the past several weeks, we have memorized John 1:1–5. Practice saying the verse out loud as you reflect on all that you have learned throughout your reading of John’s Gospel.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.

I have tried going to the homepage and I keep getting sent back here for the current reading plan. I guess I’ll catch up tomorrow.

I am new to SRT. I have a question…Is this community part only for those that do a monthly plan? I’m not sure what the difference is from just going to the website and reading the daily plan and doing the subscription. I do the digital subscription. I also have not received the Revelation plan, although I did receive the digital Advent plan last week.
There seems to be a technical issue today. I only access it through the website it does nit seem to be available as of yet.

@Peggy The community is for everyone. The subscription sends you the study books automatically with each study. Having the she reads truth app is the easiest way to follow long whether you purchase the study books or not. Welcome to the community!

We had communion today at church, and it was followed by that powerful song..The Blood by David Funk and Bethel. It just gets me every time, the whole story of God, making us right with him by the gift of Jesus. In his blood, the lamb and perfect sacrifice!! And John is telling us that summation as well!! He came, he lived, he died—for us. Nothing we can do to deserve it on our own, except to say yes!

I didn’t think I’d say this, but I’m really looking forward to the Revelation study! Seems like a number of pastors I listen to have done or are doing now a Revelation series. I have learned a lot but am one of those folks who needs some repetition for it to stick/make sense (not that it always makes sense in the human world…). I think it will be especially interesting in light of just finishing this study on John. Looking forward to all of your insightful comments as we learn together!

As we wrap up this study and I read these verses again, another passage comes to mind from Col 1:15-20.
‘The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.’
He is the creator of all and He is in it all; He has been and is a part of everything and the true light of the world. The life and work of Jesus, His example, teaching, heart for us sacrifice and forgiveness is a gift like none other. Thanks be to God.
The hymn The Love of God (the version I like best is from Reawken Hymns) really encompasses the John study so well.

I would ask for prayer for my mom. She got the news on Friday she has a clot in her leg following a procedure. The doctor she spoke to has her on a blood thinner and is hoping her body will absorb it. Thank you for praying.
