Romans 15:4

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

During this study, we are memorizing Romans 15:4. This week, memorize the second half of the verse.

For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.
—Romans 15:4

    Encouragement through the scriptures! I’m sure this happens to all of us, we sometimes read EXACTLY what need to here or what we are going through, “so that we may have “hope” through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.” Happy Sunday sweet She’s. TOMORROW is my first day back to work, a week FULL of meetings and training before the kiddos come on the the 12th. I’m looking forward to meeting our new TK students!!

    Forgot to note verse I shared, Hebrews 6:19, is from NLT.

  8. Cee Gee says:

    Hebrews 6:19-
    This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
    .
    This hymn comes to mind today:

    1 My hope is built on nothing less
    than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
    I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
    but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
    Refrain:
    On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
    all other ground is sinking sand;
    all other ground is sinking sand.
    2 When darkness veils his lovely face,
    I rest on his unchanging grace;
    in every high and stormy gale,
    my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
    3 His oath, his covenant, his blood,
    support me in the whelming flood;
    when all around my soul gives way,
    he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
    4 When he shall come with trumpet sound,
    O may I then in him be found:
    dressed in his righteousness alone,
    faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]

    It will be a scorcher again here later but went for an early walk and doing my devotions on my shady patio. Thankful for what was researched and shared last week. Praying for Rhonda’s Crystal, Donna’s son’s recovery from the bike accident, Theresa’s daughter Amanda, the crying baby at Sharon’s church and her dear husband’s sermons, Wendy B’s kidney stone pain and praying this will be over soon, Tina’s dream of a husband, ME’s illness flare up, Royal Kid’s family issue, Susan’s work/move decision, Sandi’s husband working so hard, A Walton’s housing, Elaine’s pain, many others. Praying for the peace and comfort of the Lord to cover all of us who come here, post or just read along and pray and always praying for the salvation of our loved ones.

    Sweet Shes
    Imagine every “Missing” Reply is:
    “That’s righteous, Sister!”

    Brenda Pouncey, welcome to our She family. As time allows, read the stories that seem to draw you. The order doesn’t matter. The purpose is to grow us up in His Word. All scripture is profitable. . . Have a blessed day if rest, Shes.

  13. Wendy B says:

    What hope we have because of Jesus. Thank you Lord!

    Encouraged and lifted up by your words this morning and praying for the requests, SRT sisters. Still can’t reply, but thank you. Blessings on your Sunday.❤️

  14. Ashley M. says:

    God has given us His Word not just to inform us, but to form us—into people of endurance, encouragement, and hope. When we open the pages of Scripture, we’re not just reading stories of the past—we’re meeting the God who is still present and powerful in our lives today.

    When a verse or snippet of one pops into my mind at just the right time, I need to remember it was written in the past so that I would have it at that moment. Or when I’m reading a chapter and struggling to connect to the words, right there is a verse that grabs my attention. Written in the past for my instruction, providing the fuel for the hope and encouragement needed now – we serve an AWESOME GOD.

  21. Rhonda J. says:

    Oh, today is an exciting day because one of our lovely butterflies will be released from prison late tonight! We have become close over the last 2 years since that first day she came into our class! Her name is Crystal, if you would pray for her and her faith. She also has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical and bladder cancer which breaks my heart. It has now gone into her lymph nodes. She has been talking about coming to our church for over these 2 years! I hope we are able to get her there often even though she will live further than idea from the church. I am hoping I can be there for her in this next phase of her NEW life! Please lift her name up to our Healer and comforter, and provider.

  22. Rhonda J. says:

    Prayers Cheryl!! How exciting but I’m sure a little nervous, but it will be fun!!

  23. Rhonda J. says:

    How amazing is it that we have the Bible, the living and moving WORD of the Holy, Almighty God of Heaven and Earth! Yet, it is gathering dust on the nightstand, overlooked by many Christians. We rely on devotionals and Sunday Church to give us a word. (I am pointing to myself for most of my life!).
    And then we have the rest of the people, trying to find meaning, importance, and hope in things of the world.
    We Christ-followers are supposed to be set apart, which we are, lol, but not in the good way! We are seen as judgmental and as dysfunctional as they are. I believe it is that we are not all in and obedient. We are in..mostly. Except when it doesn’t fit our situations and fleshly desires. We love the idea of Salvation and a helper and comforter, but he is rarely the center of our lives.
    Oh Lord, keep convicting me/us to put you in the center. That we keep the disciplines of a walk with God front and center in our lives. Meditating on your word day and night. Let us stand for YOUR NAME in our schools and cities. When it gets hard, which it has, that you will give us strength and wisdom. That in our families we will lead us as Proverbs women, and have your name on our lips. Let us surrender our desires and dreams to be Kingdom focused. You have a better and perfect plan for us that we don’t even realize. Let us She’s be all in for You, as Jesus was for us. Let our lives show You to the strangers we meet, and our loved ones. Thank you for your daily cup and manna for each day. Amen

    Happy Sunday!

  24. Cheryl Blow says:

    So Thankful for all of you! Asking for prayers as I lead for our kids pastor today and next week. Also, we have Kid’s revival tonight! Please pray for God to move.

    Praying for all of you! Our verse was a great reminder where my hope is!

  25. Kelly (NEO) says:

    Psalm 33:21 For our hearts rejoice in him
    because we trust in his holy name.
    22 May your faithful love rest on us, Lord,
    for we put our hope in you.
    .
    Psalm 71:14 I will hope continually
    and will praise you more and more.
    15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness
    and your salvation all day long,
    though I cannot sum them up.
    16 I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord God;
    I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.
    .
    May the One who is our Hope fill your hearts with His love and peace as we gather to worship with the saints today.

  26. Lynne from Alabama says:

    Good morning, precious sisters! I just read this prayer in another devotional and wanted to share: “Lord, You, the Most High, the name above every rejection, have the final say over me. You know me and love me intimately, personally, and fully. Let my reactions to all things make it evident that I spend a lot of time with You. I want my gentleness to be evident to all. I want Your fullness in me to be the atmosphere around me. I want Your love to shine through me. And I want Your peace to be the path I walk. May Your Truth be my wisdom when I talk. You are my everyday dwelling place, my saving grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

    Have a blessed day! Praying for all your needs! ❤️

    1. Kelly (NEO) says:

      Hi Lynne
      Thanks ❤️

      Thanks!

  27. Tina says:

    You know, I loved reading my daddys letters to me when I was at boarding school.
    They always began.. My dearest Chris, a reminder to me each week how loved it was..
    The middle was often a message of love , grace, hope and oftentimes reprimand.
    I would have written to him, to complain about something or other, and in His response he would encourage me through gentle reprimand how I should react, respond, rethink, respect, realign my thinking, my feelings..
    The letters from daddy, were teachings in the moment..Scriptures, however, are the love letter from God that teach me how to live my life daily, and they so encourage me, bringing me continued hope..
    .
    Verse 13 says.. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust Him, so that you may overflows with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.. as I trust Him..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
    Forever faithful..
    .
    Amen.
    .
    Happy Sunday, my dears. Praying the God of Hope fill your day with joy and peace..Trust Him.. He will do it, whatever it is..
    Much love ❤️
