Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

2 Corinthians 1:20

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Throughout this reading plan, we will memorize our key verse for this plan. This week we will start with the first half.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
—2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

Trying to return to the US from Guatemala today with our mission team. Yesterday our plane never arrived because they couldn’t find a crew. We are trying again today. Being stranded hasn’t been too bad so far because the airline has put us up in a nice hotel. Heat, air conditioning, and hot showers are pretty luxurious after a week of serving some of the poorest people any of us have ever seen (aside from our Burundi mission partners, which our pastor refuses to take me to serve ;o) ). Please pray for a safe return for our team, today if at all possible. Thank you, sisters.

A jaunty little hymn to share!
    “Revive us Again”

    We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
    For Jesus who died,
    And is now gone above.
    Refrain:
    Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
    Hallelujah, Amen.
    Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
    Revive us again.

    We praise Thee, O God!
    For Thy Spirit of light,
Who has shown us our Savior,
    And scattered our night.
    Refrain
    All glory and praise,
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who has borne all our sins,
    And hath cleansed every stain.
    Refrain
    Revive us again;
    Fill each heart with thy love;
    May each soul be rekindled
    With fire from above.
    Refrain

ASHLEY SHAW – praying for your son and for hospital staff’s understanding and help needed
DONNA WOLCOTT – praying for the best resolution for your back issues! I’ve been in a similar situation for over a year, waiting now for another MRI to be scheduled. I saw both ortho & neuro surgeons – you might consider a consult w/ neuro as well as ortho. Neuro ended up being a much better fit for my lengthy list of spine issues.
KAREN BREAUX – thank you for sharing the praise of your son’s testing in the new job. Praying things continue to click
SUZI RASMUSSEN – I am so sorry to hear of your husband’s diagnosis, praying as you continue to work through it. Would written clarification be an option for him for some situations?

    “What is life
    when living
    without
    the
    Lifemaker?”

I wanted to share this beautiful phrase, written by Rachael Scott. Who is Rachael Scott? She is the young lady, 17 yrs old, that was murdered at Columbine in 1999. I am reading the book by her parents, written the year after the tragedy, as they looked at her journals and notes, and her beautiful relationship with the Lord! Astonishingly she somehow knew she didn’t have long to make a profound difference in the world, but knew she would! What an inspiration!! “Rachael’s Tears.”
She was standing on the promises of God.

    1. Suzi Rasmussen says:

      I remember that!

    2. Mari V says:

I remember Columbine. I was part of the youth group back then, (then came back to HS ministry 4 years ago) and my heart went out to these families and their precious high school students. I remember praying HARD for our students as this became a “thing” (for lack of better words) where there was multiple school shootings. I prayed for my small group of girls (they are now in their early 40’s) and for all the students and schools. Thankfully till this day nothing like that has happened, other than threats. BUT I feel sad when we have to practice “lock down” drills. It’s a MUST! TWO students from Columbine shooting stuck out to me forever Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott. Now that I’m back in the HS ministry. I pray for them often! I am privileged to be part of their lives and like hanging out with us oldies, even got invited to one of their bday parties and can’t believe she’s 18. Just likes our TK students they are my babies, so are these precious girls! I am honored God chose me to be a little part of their lives! I’m going to get that book!

  24. Rhonda J. says:

    Good Morning She’s!
What a great first week in “The Promises of God!” What a blessed assurance, a hope to hold tight.

When our earth is shattered, our dreams dashed, our spirit crushed— Remember, trust, KNOW–God is for us, not against us! “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a Future!” Jeremiah 29:11!! Amen and Amen!

Jesus says- “come to me, all who are weary and heavy ladden, and I will give you rest!”
“My yoke is easy, and my burden IS light!” Matthew 11:30

and 2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light afflictions, but are yet for a moment, are working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory!”

James 1:2-3 “Consider pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of various kinds, because you KNOW the test of your faith produces perseverance!!

Stay Strong and COURAGEOUS Sister—IN the Lord, not by your own strength, but by His!!

    Amen!!! Enjoy your Sunday!

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God..
    .
My heart went straight to the fact God has made many, many, many promises, and over the millennium, centuries and years, He continues to keep these promises!
They are not watered down promises of the originals, they are as He promises from day 1!!
And they are so because of Jesus. We see Gods Goodness and Grace and Faithfulness, and Love, through our Saviour Jesus Christ.. He brings home the TRUTH of God, His love, and the Hope, to a resounding YES and AMEN, (from me.) And absolutely spoken to the glory of God.
    .
Thank you Father God, Thank you for your promises to keep, protect, provide, love. The promises to be merciful, gracious, and to give a hope, still, even in these days of conflict, discontent, and uncertainty, confusion.. Thank you Father God, for loving us beyond our imagining and giving us hope each day in your promises that have stood the test of time, Thank you, my Father God, Thank you..
    .
    BUT GOD.
    .
    AMEN.
    .
Everyday is a praise day, but today is crank it up day..
Hezekiah Walkers ‘Every Praise..’ Is playing..
Glory Hallelujah.. Oop, the feet are moving, now the body.. Shamelessly moving in praise.. That’s it, I’m singing Hallelujah…
    .
    Happy Sunday my dears!!!❤
