Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

Colossians 1:17

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week, we will test our memorization of our key verse for the book of Colossians.

He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.
—Colossians 1:17

I accidentally posted via the app, and it is not showing here. (I prefer to post here, on my iPad, but it needs to be charged!) I listened to a good podcast from The Bible Recap today. I posted the link on our FB page but not here, so as to not be moderated… Heeheehee!) Look for Day 286/Luke 11, if you wish to listen.

So very thankful that He holds all things together. How many times He has held me together when I just couldn’t, I have no way of counting.

HE’s got me! HE has my back! I TRUST Him! Even when “it-feels” like He’s not there, HE IS!! I know HE is! HE’s proven faithful over and over. It may not be like I had wanted, but DADDY knows best! Happy Sunday sweeties! Feeling a tad-bit sad (but not too sad) for two reasons. One, my daughter is missing church again due to her mid-term and other homework,(please pray for her, its A LOT). Second, Fall break is over and NO more sleeping in! BUT GOD…thankful I have a job and I’m SO exited to see the kiddos! I missed them GREATLY!! Also thank you all who prayed for my daughter and meeting with her classmate from HS to talk about JESUS! It went well! She hasn’t accepted Jesus, “yet,” but still is seeking and wanting to attend church. I’m sad because my daughter won’t be going today and therefore her friend won’t either and I’m working in childcare at my church. BUT GOD….I know OUR God has a plan! Love you all SO much!

And for those of us who cannot worship in person with others today what a blessing it is to have a bible in our hands and a faith community to pray for and with.

He holds all things together. Hard to fathom, especially when hurricanes and tornadoes come like a big angry mass and destroy. Yet, so many of us here feel like God heard our prayers and spared us from the “what could have been.”
Even when the world seems to have gone crazy, God is not surprised nor should we be! Yet we should be honoring to Him and try our best to be out ministering, disciplining, and sowing. It is our highest calling, we have been saved, but that doesn’t mean go live your best live now, that’s when the challenge and hard actually begins!! It’s not an easy calling, if you are truly transformed, living a new life in Christ…there is urgency and love for the lost, and lots of rejection and labeling on you. But- we are equipped, each one of us, to do what He wants our unique purpose to be. Lets quit wasting our time. Each day ask the Lord Who can I encounter today Lord? What can I do to grow your Kingdom? How can I be your hands and feet?! Use me Lord, grow me Lord, stretch me Lord.
Happy Sunday dear she’s. If you could pray for my husband’s back, he is barely moving. Love ya’ll!

    1. Cee Gee says:

Oh, no, Rhonda! Praying rest restores freedom of movement quickly! You might like one of the pastors I follow for Sunday School lessons. We do lifeway explore the bible series. Today’s is in Acts 17:24-31:
“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”
He talks about intentionally making connections with people in order to have the opportunity to share the gospel. He is easy to find online. I also watch a guy in Florida, Mike Howard, but wad too tired last night to watch both.

      1. Rhonda J says:

        Big HUG!

Thank you friend! And I love what your comment…I remember the feeling of dreading my Sunday afternoons because the dread of getting up early all week was looming!! I loved my job as well…once I was finally up and going! I can’t imagine reading SRT every morning BEFORE work like many of you do!! Praise God for your diligence and I know He rewards his children!! But for years I thank God every day that I am able to take my time in the mornings. I mean, most of it is due to not being able to work with my back pain, so it’s a catch 22, BuT I”M SO grateful my husband can work and provide for us and that I am able to online train here and there for some work on my own schedule. If only I could get paid to do the things I LOVE for the Lord like lead small groups and be a greeter! lol! No I’m thankful that WAS my career in fitness therapy for 30 plus years! It was a blessing!! Anyway—Love you and your heart for kids and making a way for yourself knowing it would be hard. Not taking the little things for granted, living with your mother in a small room that is not ideal! God sees you and has it all worked out for you just as he wants—Which reminds me of the preaching this morning—that Paul was saved and USED by God..but he had horrible misery and things going wrong, imprisoned, ship-wrecked, bit by a snake…You would thing following God would by great, but it is an ongoing sacrifice for the eternal kingdom and victory after this fleeting life!! NO time for complaining and self-deprivation! It’s time to serve, with boots on the ground, fighting a war for the Lord!! (yelling this in my mind as I’m in my recliner in tropical paradise…doing nothing!! lol) BUT you know we can do a lot basically on social media these days as well and be far reaching in ways we will never know!!

        1. Mari V says:

Aw Rhonda…….. I needed to hear this, THIS very moment as I’m feeling a little down. I took a short rest after church in my very small space. I still need to mop the floors before I head out to work in childcare for two hours for the new young marrieds. I have to admit, sometimes I wish I didn’t have to do that, but I look forward to seeing the little ones. There are these siblings of boy,and a girl, 3 and 4 years old and they make it worthwhile. My daughter won’t be joining me due to homework. BTW she just took a midterm for one of her classes and got a B!

  12. Tina says:

Such beautiful, encouraging and soul enforcing and up lifting words!
    .
Sorry, the Message again, sometimes it’s just the way for me to seriously get it!
    .
We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. FOR EVERYTHING, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, ABOVE AND BELOW, VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE, rank after rank after rank of angels—EVERYTHING GOT STARTED IN HIM AND FINDS ITS PURPOSE IN HIM. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. FROM BEGINNING TO END HE’S THERE, TOWERING FAR ABOVE EVERYTHING, EVERYONE. So spacious is he, so expansive, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.
    Colossians 1:15‭-‬18 MSG

So, so very thankful, for the love and gift that Jesus is and for my life. Thank you, Jesus, thank you. Thank you Father God..
    BUT GOD..

    AMEN.

“By him all things hold together.”
    .
That includes me! I don’t have the strength or energy to hold “it” together. He’s got it well in hand. ❤️
    .
MARI V – praying the soil in “D” is ready to receive the seed your daughter planted. All in God’s timing.

    2. Danielle B says:

Oh Kelly, thank you for the beautiful truth that I don’t have the strength and energy to hold it together. A lesson God continues to help me learn. God may I rest and lean on your strength not my own!

    3. Cee Gee says:
