2 Corinthians 12:9

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Now that we’re reading 2 Corinthians, we’ll memorize our key verse for this letter, 2 Corinthians 12:9. We’ll start with the first half of the verse, remembering the grace of Christ that always covers us.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.
—2 Corinthians 12:9

I think my post disappeared before I could post? Searching thank you for sharing that verse. It is much needed. I’m just returning from a brief vacation with my husband, catching up on the comments from the days I did not get to read !

Sisters, totally off topic but with all the turmoil in my country (US) & the world overall, I wanted to share the link (remove the spaces I added) to a song our church worship team wrote & published (listen through the credits at end). Reminds me of not just my/our need for God but the need for Him to guide our leaders, cities, states and countries as well.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

How many times have I asked God for this or that? Or can you take this away and replace it with something else. OR financially, can you take this debt away from me somehow? (some of it was not my fault, due to the separation ) This summer is the first summer that I did not work. The funny thing is, I‘ve always wanted to have the summer off, but couldn’t afford it, yet here I am. My financial dependence is solely on my Jehovah Jireh this summer. And trust me, HE is providing! Though I’m sad, (being transparent) we didn’t get to go away for a couple of days to San Luis Obispo/Pismo, He did provide a day trip. Spending time at the beach (Monterey) with my daughter on Friday was just amazing! She was very grateful for what I could do. We went to our favorite coffee shop, thrift store shopping that we both just enjoy so much, and WE enjoyed a picnic lunch on a bench facing the beach. HIS grace is sufficient! Jehovah Jireh is providing and will continue!
I thought I was going to go back to work at the end of July, but it turns out it’s only for two days. I’m not going to get discouraged! Though I may be weak, just like Paul, I want to boast about my weakness and My Jesus gets the glory! Speaking of the beach, while I was there, I got a phone call from one of the vice principals who happens to be a friend and was an amazing teacher to my daughter. She was letting me know that I am being placed in a different position, (I had asked for the possibility to be moved). It will be with TK! I am so excited! My hours were increase a little bit, which is just what I needed. I will have to start much earlier (6:50 AM), But that’s OK! And ironically, I will be paired up with another para, who at one point was my boss, and yet we are in the same position. Please pray I will be able to sync with the new TK teacher that I’m being placed with. Forgive me for my rambling. I wanted to add one more thing and I mentioned it before. Please pray for my son‘s finances as he, is helping me fund two weeks that I am not working. And he is doing it with a happy heart! I’m praying that the Lord bless his finances many times more. And I know that Jehovah Jireh will provide for the rest my nonworking days. HAPPY SUNDAY sweet She’s!!

Your story just warms my heart so much. We were missionaries for many years and had to relay on the Lord’s provision often during that time. He always came through. Not always as we had imagined, but we never went hungry, never couldn’t send our kids to school, never were without transportation or housing. And we learned to appreciate the small things that brought us joy. Like finding a package of imported oreos at the supermarket and making them last for a month! Or getting away to a friend’s house and just enjoying their company. May you feel so many blessings this year as you have leaned on Him to truly provide your needs. And what lovely children you are raising! How special for your son to help you during this time. He will feel that blessing for years to come. I am so excited for you in your new position. If I were still teaching, I would definitely love to have you as my para!

      1. Mari V says:

  7. Adrienne says:

I have “Strength in Weakness” tattooed on my forearm. (I think ERICA CHIARELLI mentioned one she has from 1 Corinthians last week?) The “t” in strength is a cross and the dot above the “i” is a little red heart. I did it to keep me grounded in the fact that HE’S got me, and I’m covered in HIS grace and have HIS strength.

It’s not us, sweet sisters, it’s HIM.

    Be blessed today!

What a beautiful thought for this Sunday morning (and every morning). I can’t imagine life without a Savior who carries me with His grace and gives me strength when I am weakest.

Thank you, all, for your loving words and prayers yesterday. This community is amazing and truly exemplifies what it means to carry one another’s burdens. Although nothing visible happened yesterday as far as we know with Taliah, I went through the whole day knowing that she was covered by prayer by my online and in person community. It was a beautiful feeling. And having a God who hears our prayers and cares about our sorrow and hurt so much, well it just floors me sometimes. Have a blessed Sunday, my friends. You are prayed for and loved!

    1. Searching says:

      Continuing to pray, LAURA ❤️

  9. D W says:

  10. Kim Mullins says:

Good morning beautiful She’s!! I am a week behind, so much going on here! But I’m catching up and praying for you all as I go! I love the support we give each other!

  11. Rhonda J. says:

    GM She’s!

We often in our culture want to say..you are strong! An overcomer, courageous, beautiful! We actually used all these words on our baskets that my small group made yesterday for sex-trafficked girls..but I hope we all remember as Christian that our identity and purpose comes from Jesus!! We are weak…oh do I really feel this most days too, BUT GOD- so grateful that in my weakness his power gives me a hope and confidence that He’s got me! I don’t know what would happen if I didn’t have my groups and serving, I think I wouldn’t want to get out of bed. But each day, I start with coffee and SRT, and ya’ll! That is a great kick in my butt that each day I get to do life with Him, and that should give me a fresh perspective each morning, that day by day, morning by morning…

    Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” NIV

    1. Laura says:

Rhonda J, I love imagining all the things you do in your day to serve. Serving really does something for our own hearts and souls, right? When I walked through my darkest moment, I took a part-time job that was pure service oriented, and it really helped me to heal. Thank you for sacrificing so much of yourself to pour into others (including this online community!)

      1. Rhonda J. says:

YES!! I just said that to my husband…that my groups and serving opportunity give me Joy, give me even more Hope, give me even more Faith …nothing is better and I am so happy that God has opened these doors!

    2. Mari V says:

  16. Tina says:

GRACE in dictionary..says( in Christian belief) the free unmerited favour of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

But He, God, said to me, “My grace, MY FREE UNMERITED FAVOUR, is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in (YOUR) weakness.”
Claiming Your Free unmerited Grace, Father God, this morning, for it is ALL I need for Your strength to come into its own, in my weakness..
Thank you Lord God, Thank you..
    BUT GOD..
    AMEN.

Happy Sunday! Covered in hugs, love, prayers and all things good..❤️

    Good Sunday Morning Shes
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
These words are written in stone in the courtyard leading into the church where I will worship today.
A reminder as we enter, we are oh so very weak, but oh so ever, He is strong.
Like Paul in affliction, acclaim His power.

    1. Tina says:

      Good morning GWINETH52!

      Happy Sunday!❤️
