Psalm 121:1-2

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

For this study, we’ve been memorizing Psalm 121:1–2. This week, we’ll bring the two verses together.

I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1–2

Hey there, SRT community! I need prayers for my household. My roommate is going through a very tumultuous divorce with kids 9 and 10. The father is very mentally unwell and the kids are getting the brunt of the effects of the abuse he used to put the mom through now onto them. Both kids have progressively been acting out in very violent ways, especially the boy, which is now making my household unsafe. Please pray that God moves in these kids hearts and turns them away from evil and protects them from their father’s evil. And for God to give their mom and also me wisdom in how to navigate this complex issue. Thank you for your prayers! We need a miracle.

Dear sweet she’s, I hope you had a great Sunday. Indeed where does our help come from? only from God, who made heavens and earth. Please pray for us. The police found Matt’s body in the woods. We are grieving a life lost, and so many others connect to him impacted forever. I remember the movie it’s a wonderful life I watched at Xmas. And I remember how a life was saved. I could not make sense of things, but I believe God is so good and so close to the broken hearted. Would you please pray for Matt’s parents, family, coworkers? He was so joyful and kind to everyone, making jokes and everyone thought he was doing better. But God knows. The mysteries of life. Be blessed dear sisters.

Read earlier, but time wasn’t on my side to comment.. so a tad late to the table..

I thought this morning, what a beautiful end to the Psalms of Ascent with the Psalm that absolutely has my heart.. and the words I so cherish.
This has been a beautiful journey with amazing insights from all who commented, a wonderful study to encourage us to look to, look up, look forward, look inward and above all, look to Him who sees us in whatever state, good, bad, ugly.. and still wants to make our lives good for us..
I have so enjoyed this study. It was only possible because I had YOU, my sisters walking alongside.. so thank you so very much and see you on our next journey and study tomorrow.

Much love, covered in hugs and prayers..❤️

      ❤❤❤

  13. Adrienne says:

I agree that this study was. the. best. (And, yes, we say that often about so many of them… thank you so much SRT… you help us be women in the word of God every day… sweet!)

I think coming off Numbers (with it’s heaviness and all the detail) helped us to appreciate this study on some Psalms more. Short &sweet, it was!

    1. Gwineth52 says:

      Amen & Amen, Adrienne!

  14. Rebecca Harper says:

This verse reminds me of the song Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns. I always hear the chorus and the bridge when I read or see this verse.

    1. Adrienne says:

      Same! ❤️

    2. Charlotte C says:

      Same!

  15. Rhonda J. says:

GM! Happy Sunday! My favorite day to go and worship and praise! We have baptisms today! We have to go early and get bags together for them (shirts and shorts), I think we have about 15! Praise the Lord, it is so special to see!

Praying you all have a good day, a day of rest, or family or what ever brings you peace and refreshment and closer time to the Lord! Looking to the hills to where our help comes from, the maker of heaven and earth, maker of all. The maker that is my peace, my comforter, my joy, my life, my all.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Strange I wrote this before church this morning and it didn’t go through till now! I must have not pushed enter!!

  16. Indiana Elaine says:

I have so enjoyed the study of the psalms of ascent, especially the comments that added depth. I read with you daily, but rarely comment. I have made a list of all your suggested songs for an upcoming surgery. Now I have to figure out how to make a playlist. This has been a difficult month. My husband of 52 years had a mild heart attack. Thankfully, he is recovering. My niece had a flesh eating bacteria and had two surgeries and is now in a nursing facility for six weeks for wound care and rehab. She has no family in the area so I am trying to make contact several times a week. Then I found out that I need knee replacement surgery. At nearly 80 years old and never had any surgery other than tonsils, this is a bit overwhelming. Now we are having issues with the insurance so not sure when it will be scheduled. I was hoping for the end of August after garden stuff is over. Prayers are appreciated.
To Kelly (NEO) and Mercy, thank you for your ongoing prayers for Steven. He seems to have recovered from his aneurysm surgery, but since has fallen and broke bones in his hand and wrist and is still not able to work. His eyes are on Jesus.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Oh Indiana, you have a lot going on! So thankful your husband is okay, that is scary!! What a beautiful, long marriage you have been blessed with as well!! I know your name–but I never thought of you as 80 because your name made me assume you were in a younger generation! I love your beautiful name!! I am sorry you have to have surgery, hopefully it will come together with insurance and scheduling! (I love gardening as well) The only way I make playlist is on YouTube, but you have to constantly “skip” the adds unless you have an account with them. I have about 20 playlists there! I love, love music!
Also, crazy about your niece, poor thing! that is so rare, what an awful thing to go through plus with no family around, I am glad you are able to be there for her!! Praying for you..and keep us updated! Join us on our She’s Facebook page! Under SRT She’s and request to join and answer the question you do a bible study with SRT.

      1. Indiana Elaine says:

Rhonda, Thank you for the invite to Facebook; however, I have never been on Facebook. This is the closest thing to social media I have done.
Thank you also for the playlist suggestion. I think I might try Spotify. Guess I’m not too old to try new things.❤️

        1. LindaK says:

You are never too old to try new things❤️

  17. Mari V says:

AGREE once again with many of you sweet She’s. This was another great study, and really enjoyed the format as it allowed us to get to know on another on a deeper level. God is SO good! AS always MY help comes from the ONE and ONLY…OUR Jesus! I can’t imagine doing life without HIM. He’s my EVERYTHING! SO excited that 2 of my friends will be joining us for the next study in 1&2 Corinthians!!!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

I didn’t even realize this was the end of the Psalm study! But I love Corinthians and Paul’s writing, it’s wonderful that you invited 2 friends to join!! Your comments ALWAYS make me smile and remind me a lot of dear Dorthy’s comments in the past with lots of “excitement” in her texts!! Hope summer is going great for you and the kiddos! (praying for your son still with mine!)

  18. Diana Yelverton says:

    ❤️

  19. Mia Faith says:

My help comes ONLY from the Lord! Where would I be without Him? I shudder at the thought. My family and I are struggling. The loss of my husband, their dad and grandfather has just broken us all. We still wait for the death certificate and autopsy results. Without the death certificate, everything kind of halts. I don’t want it, but I need it. Please pray it arrives soon. He passed away on March 6th. Please pray for my family.

    1. Wendy says:

I am so sorry. Continuing to pray for God’s comfort, strength and peace in this devastating, heartbreaking time

    2. Maria Baer says:

Mia, keeping you and your family in prayer. And that the certificate arrives soon. Sending much love.

    3. Kelly (NEO) says:

Oh, so sorry for the added frustration. Praying for you and the family

    4. Mari V says:

WE are your sisters/family here Mia! YOU and your family are covered in prayer! Praying specifically for the arrival of death certificate. YOU are loved sweet girl.

    5. Arlene says:

Praying for you Mia Faith. Father God, meet this family in their grief, bring caring, loving people to walk alongside each one, in the exact way that each of them need it and at the exact time they need a touch from you. May these people allow this family time to grieve and not offer empty platitudes. Father I pray that the death certificate would come this week so the family can move on. May your name be glorified. Amen

    6. Rhonda J. says:

Oh Faith, my heart still hurts for you and your family, especially you because it’s tragic that you have to go through so much loss and pain, yet it is inspiring to know you have strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and know your strength has come from him. It’s so hard to understand the whys, which we will never know exactly until that day in heaven. I hope your family will see what an amazing woman of Christ you are, and it will mold and shape them. You might not even see it in the here and now, but it will increase their faith at just the right time!! Keep showing up daily, one step at a time, with His daily bread. We She’s are placing our arms underneath yours to help hold them up and they are weak, I hope you feel them. I pray the death certificate comes so you all can have some peace in that way. Love you lots.

    7. Adrienne says:

Still praying for you & your mainly. I hope the certificate will come soon, sweet sister. ❤️

      1. Adrienne says:

Family not mainly… need to proofread before I hit “reply”!

    8. Victoria E says:

Mia Faith I am continuing to pray for you and your family. May God provide comfort for you all.

    9. Mercy says:

So sorry dear Mia Faith. I’m praying for you and your family.

  20. Maria Baer says:

My help comes from the Lord only. God, let the Holy Spirit always give me clarity to recognize when help comes from you, and when it is deceit veiled as help by the enemy, to derail my walk with you. For my only wish is for you to walk with me all the days of my life.

    1. Mia Faith says:

      So good Maria

    2. Rhonda J. says:

      Yes, Amen!!

  21. SusanM says:

I have been following SRT for years. I have to say this study is one of my all time favorites…so far! The format and questions gave me lots of time to read, meditate, and journey with our SRT community. Thank you SRT team- everyday, I felt the presence of our Lord and what questions He asks of me. ♥️

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Hi Susan! Glad to see you here! Isn’t this community such a blessing! I liked this study, but I am a fan of more scripture reading (these were SO short! Probably works perfect for the working ladies!) and a devotional to bring it into a little more clarity! It’s funny how we all prefer different ways! Yay for SRT! I like how they mix it up for all of us!!

  22. Searching says:

I know it is said by at least one of us at the end of every study … this was the best! Totally true, again.

Thank you, SRT, for the content and community platform. And thank you, sisters, for being part of this community and sharing your comments. Love to all!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Love to YOU too!!! I like devotionals better…I can’t answer the questions, lol. But still, love every study! There have been many studies marked as my favorites! Kinda like saying…Oh this is my favorite song! Everyone knows every song that comes on I love!! So thankful for SRT and ya’ll, truly has changed my faith journey!!

    2. Gwineth52 says:

      As you said it, Searching.

  26. Cee Gee says:

Such a fitting verse for the end of this study and the verse of the day on Biblegateway:
    Isaiah 40:31
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Looking forward to the new study! ❤

Thanks again, SRT, and RYAN MYERS and team for all the hard work! God bless you! ❤
