Psalm 121:1–2

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

For this study, we are memorizing Psalm 121:1–2 together. This week, we’ll memorize verse 2.

I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1–2

My help comes from the Lord. I only need to keep my eyes on Him.

Our pastor said this today, “A life of ease will not / cannot shape you.” I’m thankful for my trials. They brought my focus to our Father.

  6. Cee Gee says:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MANDI!!
(Thanks, Sharon, because I didn’t see Mandi’s comment either. ❤

Job 42:5 | “I had heard reports about you, but now my eyes have seen you.”

“We are not all like Job, but we all have Job’s God. Though we have neither risen to Job’s wealth, nor will, probably, ever sink to Job’s poverty, yet there is the same God above us if we be high, and the same God with his everlasting arms beneath us if we be brought low; and what the Lord did for Job he will do for us, not precisely in the same form, but in the same spirit, and with like design.” (Spurgeon)

Keep looking UP, dear sisters ❤️

My (OUR) help, sweet She’s comes from our one and only JESUS! We have no where else to turn to BUT to Him and when we do, we take a deep breathe and remind ourselves “its going to be OK”. WE have Jesus, its going to be OK. I had the privilege of having an amazing and SWEET earthly daddy. There are many days (not just fathers day) when I miss him VERY much and sad at the same time as my children didn’t experience what I had. BUT they (we) have our heavenly Father God who STILL and will ALWAYS look after I us. I have no doubt!

    1. Julia C says:

      ❤️

    2. Rhonda J. says:

      Yes! So good Mari V!
I was lucky to have a great dad as well, and he is still with us although he has had bad health for years and I can’t imagine it could go on much longer. It is certainly a blessing this father’s day!

    3. Cee Gee says:

❤ Like your kids, Mari, I was not blessed with a good earthly father figure. But, my mom was a believer and carried us to church. God brought me through. Said that to say your kids should do just fine with the godly mother you are!

    4. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Echoing what Cee Gee said! I too had the same situation growing up as she did. Your children are blessed to have you! I am where I am today (in full time ministry), I believe with all my heart – because of my mom’s love for Jesus & her prayers for me! ❤️

  9. Margaret W says:

Father, thank you for being my help even in my darkest moments, in moments when the fears close in and have me in shutdown mode. I know you are there, and you will bring me through the valley of the shadow of death, for you have already defeated Death forever, and you will never abandon me. And so I will always lift my eyes to you again in hope, for you are the one who keeps my soul safe.

May I always remember…real help comes from my heavenly Father, always. Not, He will help only if it’s convenient, or there’s not a better offer, or if He starts the day feeling ok, or it doesn’t take too long, or He is in the right mood … He is always, always available.

  15. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

My help comes from the Lord – Amen!
Father’s Day is always a day of mixed emotions for me. Although I loved my dad, he was not a good father. Not what I would consider a good father anyway…He passed away 1 1/2 years ago, but when he was alive it was so hard to pick a card for him because all of the cards were written for wonderful dads that “were always there for you” and were “so loving and kind”. I could never relate. I tell myself he did the best he could with what he knew, but I always longed for that loving, kind, understanding dad that I never had.
But God! He is my loving, kind, compassionate, understanding, faithful – good, good Father! I am so blessed and thankful to be His daughter!
My prayers for all of you today, especially if you’ve had the same experience. God loves you – He is the BEST, good, good Father! You are loved!
    Happy Sunday Sisters!❤️

  16. Maria Baer says:

Father we pray that as we go about our lives we always remember that our help comes from you alone. May we always seek counsel from the Holy Spirit first, when we need help and guidance. Thank you for your love, mercy, compassion and grace. And on this Father’s Day, we are so grateful for your love, for the moment of conviction, the guidance, the moments you hold us up when we don’t have the emotional strength to do it, the humorous moments when you remind us to just laugh, and for all the little moments of our lives that you show like a good father does. Thank you for being our eternal Father, the one who walks with us always. In your name, Father. Amen.

    1. Cee Gee says:

    Psalm 103:13
“The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.”

So very thankful on this FATHER’S DAY to honor the Father before and above all fathers. Though I disobey Him, He loves me and always will. He will never hurt me or leave me. I know and and am thankful that my help comes from Him.
He is my God, my Father for all time.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Amen! Reminds me of Same God by Elevation Worship! We watched the show Moses on Netflix, and finished the last part last night! It is so good, so touching. The commentary and the portrayal of Moses and God and everything was top notch!

  18. Kelly (NEO) says:

(Bear with me) This song popped in my head that can so be applied to Jesus

    I need Somebody
    (Help) not just anybody
(Help) you know I need Someone, help

    So much younger than today
I never needed anybody’s help in any way
but now these days are gone
    I’m not so self assured
Now I find I’ve changed my mind
    And opened up the doors

Help me if You can, I’m feeling down
And I do appreciate You being ’round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won’t You please, please help me

    In oh so many ways
My independence seems to vanish in the haze
But every now and then now and then
    I feel so insecure
I know that I just need You like
    I’ve never done before
    .
    .
So thankful I opened the door to my heart and let You in, My Jesus. I do appreciate that You are closer than my next breath and lifted me to sit in heavenly places.

    1. Cee Gee says:

      ❤ Amen

    2. Searching says:

  19. Laura Dianne says:

So grateful to know and be known by the Maker of heaven and earth. What a comfort.

Ladies, the comment section from yesterday was amazing! I just finished reading it now and I am so encouraged by this community. The prayer warriors in this group really strengthen me and spur me on to be a better warrior for the Lord. Thank you, faithful ladies. May you have a blessed Father’s Day today. My earthly father passed 40 years ago, but my FIL has been in my life almost as long and we are honoring him today. My kids honored my husband last weekend as they are all away this weekend. Although we have our challenges as a couple right now, I am very grateful for this man that God gave me to be my husband and the father of my children. We are a united front on so many levels. I have been praying for more patience with him as he goes through some hard transitions in his work. He has some shame and regret that he needs to give over to the Lord completely, and I know that this effects his disposition sometimes. It is good for me to grow in this, and I need to lean into the Lord as my Helper in my marriage. God bless you all and may your Sunday and Father’s Day be a day of peace and rest.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Have a wonderful day, Laura! Beautiful testimony! ❤ Praying for you as you lean into the Lord.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

  21. Tina says:

I lift my eyes far beyond my own understanding..and know, absolutely and without a doubt, where my help comes from..
My help comes from the Lord, the God of my heart, my life, my being..

I am so very thankful for that heart knowledge, that deep down in my soul knowledge..
Though I may stumble, go off the beaten track or even wander, He will not let me fall, nor will He ever leave me nor forsake me. I was and still am a creation of the Most High God, and He will protect me, He is by my side, and He never sleeps, not for a minute, not for a moment. HE has my back, and He keeps me safe. I am protected every single day of my life.

Thank you Lord God, Thank you..

    BUT GOD..
