Psalm 121:1–2

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

For this study, we will memorize Psalm 121:1–2 together. This week, we’ll memorize verse 1.

I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1–2

My comment is awaiting moderation. (I’m sure because it includes a link.) So, here it is again without said link.

After reading Psalm 121 earlier this week, one particular verse has been running through my head. Other Shes posted this song recently too, but this particular verse did not grab my attention, I guess. The song I was thinking of was “Praise You In This Storm” by Casting Crowns, not an unknown song by Third Day like I had thought. I kept trying to finish the tune and search for the verbiage online, using Third Day also. Oops! (I love both bands but was mistaken on the voice singing it in my head.) But was in my head were these verses.

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?

Sunday blessings to my sweet sisters and friends!

That’s the song verse that immediately played in my head as well, Adrienne! Glad you resolved that for your own peace of mind because I know how frustrating that kind of thing can be! ❤

Meant to say this too: I had a comment go to moderation one day this week. No link and no questionable words or phrases.

Thank you, She’s for all of your prayers. God is definitely doing a work in Hudson’s life. He ended his relationship with his girlfriend yesterday, which was so hard for him, but he said he knew it was the right thing to do if he is going to make different choices moving forward. Please continue to pray that God would give him strength, and would ultimately bring him back to Him.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Blessed breakthrough! Prayers for strength to persevere! ❤

  16. Rhonda J. says:

    Good morning she’s!!

Today is my one and only son Micheal’s Birthday!! He is 24!! Crazy! I always tell him it’s MY special day…for the best day of my life that I had him!! God was very gracious and merciful after all my sins and disregard for precious life…formed in the womb! I am so ashamed, but God took that shame away and still blessed me with a baby boy! I know one day I will be reunited with precious others. (yes, that was hard to write…I wanted to erase, but there it is, the hard truth we do with Satan.) Michael is my joy, my heart, my beautiful, funny, always respectful, pumpkin head. I miss being near him after moving away nearly 5 years ago. Thank you Heavenly Father, draw him closer and closer to you, surround him with your angels of protection, bring him a Godly wife that loves you, and May he live his live for you. I am so, so thankful Lord that you gave me another chance with him and forgive me in my failures and my absorbed self-love. You are the giver of life, Lord, you created each one in the womb and set us apart. You have great plans for each of us! We look to the hills, that is where our help, strength, love, endurance come from, all from you Lord. The world tries to tell us to run to worldly things, but God, we know that we have You, King of Kings, Lord of Lord’s. Thank you MY JESUS!
Have a great Sunday She’s! Continued prayers for all of you!

    1. Kelly (NEO) says:

It’s all under the Blood now. Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability ❤️

    2. Laura Dianne says:

Thank you for being so vulnerable, Rhonda J. As forgiven and redeemed women of God, I believe it is more honoring of our great God to share where we came from and how God has changed and restored us into new creations than to pretend that we always have it perfectly together. My husband was a young adult pastor for years and counseled many young adults through hard things, but he said no one ever talked about having an abortion, even though the statistics show that most likely there were several in the group who had. We just are not comfortable being vulnerable to each other, even as Christians. I felt the same way when I went through my husband’s affair. I didn’t know a single person who had walked that same path. And we were part of a very large church at the time. I felt very alone in my pain. I am praising God with you on your special day for your boy. A son is a precious gift. I pray with you that he draws closer to the Lord and is blessed with a Godly wife. My son is my very heart, and sadly he has become distant and self-focused since he turned away from his faith. I pray that our children know God and turn to Him and that families are restored because of God’s grace.

    3. Searching says:

Yes, RHONDA, thank you. You are loved and appreciated ❤️

    4. Tina says:

RHONDA J, I am praying your lovely heartfelt prayer for your Michael with you! Isn’t it wonderful that we plan our lives one way and God says ” I don’t think so! This is and will be better for you.. The joy, love, hope you are seeking, you will find in the gift I give to you.. Micheal.
Dear friend, God knew the plans He had for you, even when..
Enjoy this day, everyday, as a reminder that our past deeds, words, actions do not define us, but rather by and in His grace, He works them for and into our good, for His glory.. I think your prison ministry work is an act of worship and giving back to God.. His forgiveness of our sins, is the salve of our future, the hope of ours, and others to come.
I wish we could sit and talk, whilst holding hands, at the table of life.. and I could give you a sisterly hug as we chatted..❤
      I ramble,.
Happiest of Birthdays to your boy, dearest.. and sending you some hugs..❤

    5. Mari V says:

Happy Birthday to your sweet boy!!

    6. Heather O'Malley says:

Thankful that His mercies are new every morning! Happy birthday to your son and happy “BIRTH” Day to you, Rhonda!

    7. Adrienne says:

Thank you for sharing, my sister. ❤️

    8. Cee Gee says:

Rhonda, celebrating your BEST DAY and MICHAEL’S birthday with you!!! Adding my amen to all our SHES comments.

In our church many years ago, there was a music minister and his fiancee’ who stood before the church and confessed to having chosen abortion. They then sang together: It is Well with My Soul. God bless you (He has in so many obvious ways just since I have ‘known’ you) and may you be strengthened to continue to be a blessing through your ministries for Him! Love and hugs!! ❤

    9. Rhonda J. says:

You all are so kind and speak to my heart and make me cry and smile all at the same time!! As Christians, we tell and share our testimonies…but usually the parts that we have gotten more comfortable sharing and yet we still hold back some things that are too deep, too judgemental, too unforgettable and forgivable..But we all fall short, there is not a yard stick measurement, for that is good to remember. THANK GOD He is a merciful and forgiving God. It breaks me, his love, and that he chooses to forget as far as to the east to the west. No matter what our past reveals, we are made new at the cross, Thank you Jesus!! I will never take that for granted..I am free by his blood alone!

      1. Cee Gee says:

        Amen and amen!!! ❤❤❤

      2. Tina says:

        Amen Rhonda. Amen! ♥️

  17. Cee Gee says:

Thankful that our God can and will supply all of our needs!

    Philippians 4:19 NLT

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Have a beautiful day of worship, sisters! ❤

    1. Searching says:

  18. Jesse Rugh says:

    Yes Lord!!

  19. Kelly (NEO) says:

Our help does not come from Airforce 1, fom science or knowledge, nor from self. All are fallen and broken.

    “Look up to the heavens,
    and look at the earth beneath;
for the heavens will vanish like smoke,
the earth will wear out like a garment,
and its inhabitants will die like gnats.
But my salvation will last forever,
and my righteousness will never be shattered” (Isa. 51:6).

Celebrate God’s salvation with other saints today! Be blesed.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Amen, sister! ❤ Back atcha! ❤

      1. Cee Gee says:

        I agree! Same here!!! ❤

  20. Tina says:

For me, this is a Mic drop verse..

This verse already has my heart..

    BUT GOD..

I do look to the hills, I do look up and beyond the hills, because for me, the Maker of the heaven and the earth is the only one who can bring/give the peace, mercy, grace hope and love I need to face each day.. He is my Lord, my God, my Life line..

    AMEN.

  21. A Walton says:

My sons and I just recently memorized these verses. We came up with a little tune to sing it with.

I am having my two sons (ages 10 and 5) who don’t get along with each other pray for their relationship together. I am praying their own hearts will be changed in prayer!

    1. Tina says:

A Walton, will join you in prayer for your boys to get along and start to show kindness to each other..
      Bless you.
Hope all is well with you and that life is being kind to you, otherwise..♥️
