Matthew 4:17

For this study we have worked to memorize our key verse in Matthew. Spend some time reading the full verse out loud and meditating on the good news of Jesus’s message.

From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near.
—Matthew 4:17

Happy Palm Sunday everyone!! Had a really great service at my church this morning. I’m so excited for Easter!! I will be staying in town and going to my church, so I know it will be a sweet time.

@Michelle Patire, I completely understand!! I am in my mid-20s :) so younger, but I have two older siblings in their early 30s, and from what my friends tell me, I’m more mature for my age haha. I definitely have thought how once I get married, I do not want to neglect my single friends. I want to make sure to invite people in and mentor them, because it can be so hard at times. I do not just want to be isolated after I get married. It is a different stage of life, but I think bridging the gap between singles and married people can be needed at times. Praying for you Michelle!!

Well, I am about 85% sure that my “friend” from church likes me…this morning was probably the 3rd or 4th time he stayed after our Sunday school and talked with my friends and I, and we walked out at the same time. I have a feeling he’s trying to find a way to ask me out. Unfortunately someone else is always around me haha. I’ve been telling my roommate, if he doesn’t like me, I don’t know what to think about guys anymore Praying the week in between would go by quickly haha, and that the Lord would teach me more about himself during this time.

    Good Morning She’s/ or afternoon!

I read this morning but didn’t get time to post! This week means so much more every year as I read scripture more, and pray and get close to our Holy Savior, But now after watching The Passion of the Christ…it really reminds me of how important and crazy Palm Sunday was that they were cheering and loving Him and shouting Hosannah…then so quickly were yelling crucify Him. That last supper, them more worried about who would be the greatest, then in the garden they fell asleep…they just didn’t realize what was going to happen! Then we have Judas’ betrayal, Peters denials, everyone else scatters, and poor Mary weeping and seeing her Son suffering. It’s a LOT for this week. I just want to grasp it all and the huge impact it SHOULD have ON ME! All this for my sinful self. All I have to do is ACCEPT. That’s all!! That’s all He asks of us in the big picture…say yes to me my lost sheep. Yes, there IS more. But simplicity when we see the whole Bible and it’s ALL there for us..yet we can’t be bothered to pick it up and study and meditate. We can’t make a stand that we love Him more than any of our useless material things in our lives. That we don’t want church to go over our time limit. We don’t want to talk to a homeless person. We don’t want to take time to care for a sick neighbor or invite an annoying friend to church that needs to know Jesus. We don’t want to forgive a person released from jail and give them a chance or the one that wronged us. It’s so simple, yet so complex. We have to let the living water that God wants us to have, by accepting Jesus, and then it will pour from us. Lets meditate on how much happened in this up coming week from Palm Sunday…to His death on Friday. Praise the Lord though….Resurrection is coming!! That’s when we rejoice!! Rejoice…Up From the Grave He Arose!! (Love that hymn) and the song- He Lives! He Lives! Christ Jesus lives today…He walks with me, and talks with me….

As usual I have gone on and on! And I am praising with the Praises! And I am nodding and saying Amen to Mari V’s comment to our young single ladies! It is imperative that you wait on God and not make it happen your own way! It only leads to failure without the Lord first in each of your lives! Yes, God can change and make it work in some cases,…but marriage is hard enough with God! God has it all under control if you give it to Him!

Love you all sisters in Christ and glad we can be open and real. Where have you been @Mercy?! Hope your husband is feeling better?

  4. Mari V says:

@Michelle Patire, Sarah D, Taylor, and all you BEAUTIFUL single ladies! We know its hard to wait for that young man, your future husband. BUT as a mom who has been married twice, and now legally separated PLEASE wait for God to bring you the man HE has chosen for you. BE picky, don’t compromise, AND most importantly he MUST and I’ll say it again, MUST love Jesus, FIRST! If he loves Jesus first with all his heart he’ll be able to love you the way you deserve to be loved because Jesus will be his FIRST love and the same goes for you. LOVE Jesus first. Praying this morning for all you beautiful young ladies! WE LOVE YOU!!

Another gorgeous sunny and COLD northern California morning. AND I can’t believe and others as well, that TODAY I’m not running in our annual marathon. And you know…..I’m OK with that! I really am. I go back to work tomorrow and I can’t wait to see the little kinders. Though I enjoyed every moment of my week off, I can’t wait to see them! I pray for them all-the-time and love on them (carefully) and my hope is that one day they realize it was ALL JESUS, not me, not even in the least. Its ALL Jesus! Something unrelated: I was still in bed this morning when I could hear my son leaving for work, then I fell back asleep ONLY to be awaken by his ring tone and he was VERY upset! He proceeded to tell me it appears someone tried to break into his car. Please pray for him as he feels violated. He worked hard to get this car (even though its older). I could hear it in his tone how-much this bothered him. As his mama, it bothers me too, but we talked about a solution and hope he felt better.

Praise God for all of the wonderful answers to prayer! I have another to add. One of my prodigals moved out yesterday and is on his way to Arizona from Oregon. He’s moving with his girlfriend, an idea we obviously aren’t crazy about. However, he reached out to the father of one of his co-workers here about a possible job in Arizona, and this dad invited them to church next Sunday! God is so good! I know my son still believes in his heart, but is definitely not walking with God. His girlfriend also used to go to church when she was younger. I’m praying that God provides a godly older couple that will take them under their wings in their new home.

Oh, THERESA… that is good news!

And, JESSICA H… so good to hear about Isabelle!

And, CEE GEE… that tune will be running through my head all day… thank you!

Repent where needed, sweet sisters. I am glad He saves me, despite my many sins… Hosanna!

    And… “Come, Jesus, Come.”

  9. Michelle Patire says:

    Happy Sunday, ladies.
Thankful to see some answered prayers in the comments today (@Jessica H & Theresa) – praying for continued healing for both parties of people/families. May the Lord’s presence comfort and strengthen all involved – especially Isabelle & Sydney. ❤️

Thank you for those who also continue to think of me and pray for me, regarding mental health. I am still struggling a bit. My new job has been a healthy outlet, though, to my mind. It does give me new things to focus on and I definitely don’t have the down time I used to during work days to dwell on things.
I think about @Sarah D’s posts this week. @Sarah D, I’m not sure how old you are, or if that even matters lol, but as a woman in my early 30s, I so relate to the desire to be in a relationship. It does not consume me, as much as it used to… I will say… God gives me much peace in waiting. But I feel somewhat neglected by my “friends” who are married.
Do you married Shes still hang out with your single friends? Or do you find you naturally spend more time with your partner and married friends?
Maybe it is just a season of transition. I pray us singles continue seeking the Lord and finding His goodness in every bit of our story. I am thankful for this community. It helps me feel less alone in many ways. ❤️ Love you all.

Hark, the glad sound, the Savior comes
    Author: Philip Doddridge (1735)

Hark, the glad sound! The Savior comes,
    the Savior promised long!
Let every heart prepare a throne,
    and every voice a song.
2 He comes the pris’ners to release,
    in Satan’s bondage held;
the gates of brass before Him burst,
    the iron fetters yield.
3 He comes the broken heart to bind,
    the bleeding soul to cure,
and with the riches of His grace,
    to enrich the humbled poor.
4 Our glad Hosannas, Prince of Peace,
    Thy welcome shall proclaim;
    and heav’n’s eternal arches ring,
    with Thy beloved Name.

Celebrating those beautiful testimonies, THERESA and JESSICA H! ❤

Happy Palm Sunday! Our church pins on small crosses made of palms and gives out fronds. Special music too. Be blest dear sisters. ✝️

  13. Jessica H says:

Happy Palm Sunday! I finally caught up (I’ve been 1-2 days behind this whole study) so I can read comments as they are happening. I have been offering prayers for the group, albeit late! Several weeks ago, I asked for prayer for my niece Isabelle. She spent 11 days in the hospital before she was stable enough to be admitted to the eating disorder clinic. She’s been there two weeks now and is gaining weight steadily. We are praying for her to make lasting changes in her thinking about her body and food. They expect her to be there at least 4 more weeks. Please also pray for her family. They get phone calls each day, but have only been able to visit once for an hour, as the clinic is a 10 hour drive. They will get a longer visit next weekend. Thank you, sisters!

  14. Deb says:

Plasm Sunday love and blessings to all!

  15. Kelly (NEO) says:

“See, your King is coming to you,
gentle, and mounted on a donkey,
    and on a colt,
    the foal of a donkey.”

He first came in humility on a donkey foal, when He returns it will be on a horse as a warrior, victorious and poweful (Rev. 11:11-16).

THERESA – :-0 ! :-0 ! That is a HUGE testimony to God’s kindness. May the medical team turn to Jesus as a result of Sydney’s miracle. Hosanna

LYNNE FROM ALABAMA – thanks for the update on Gina

  16. Theresa says:

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Palm Sunday!

I wanted to share an update of my friend’s sister, Sydney, who had the heart attack. Several things happened this week that are huge answers to prayer. First, the doctors identified that a virus attacked her heart, causing the heart attack and not an autoimmune disorder. This is a big answer to prayer because it makes the likelihood of any additional issues or a repeat heart attack much lower.

Second, and this is a biggie, her heart has begun to “spontaneously heal” (doctor’s words)! It’s an outcome no one on her care team was prepared for but we all know who is behind it! She has healed so much in fact, that a donor heart came in this past week and the care team turned her down for it and moved to the next person on the transplant list. Instead, she underwent an operation that has taken her off all life support and her heart is now working on its own! Praise God!! She still has a long road of recovery ahead and may need to have a pacemaker or AED long term, but for today we are praising God for his healing!! Thank you for the prayers!
