Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

2 Corinthians 5:17

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

For the first three weeks of this plan, we memorized one of our key verses, Revelation 21:5. For the next three weeks we’ll memorize our second key verse, 2 Corinthians 5:17. This week, we’ll memorize the first half of 2 Corinthians 5:17, remembering the truth of how we fit into God’s promise to make everything new.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
—2 Corinthians 5:17

“Scripture is God-breathed and true.” Was a good reminder for me today

Thank you to all of you who prayed for me a couple of weeks ago. This last week has been a good week for me. My anxiety is less and I feel God’s peace consistently. He is renewing my mind daily and I can feel my strength coming back.
”So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.“
    Romans 8:6

Love you all so much!! Always such good prayers, encouragement and praise!!

I was talking to a lady in my small group today before service with her mom that comes to church every week, and told them it was baptism Sunday…And after just a few moments, the mom says…I want to! And she got Baptized today!! What an imprint left in the grandson watching! We had about 8 more people today as well! And then seeing my jail ministry having women getting saved each week…it is such an exciting feeling!! Glory to Him!! We even had two young college roommates come in to see their friend get baptized, and one is atheist, and the other spiritual but not in Jesus! Yet…the fields are RIPE FOR HARVEST!! What a joy that God uses us to be part of the big plan!! Thank you Lord! You are making ALL THINGS NEW! It’s these moments that drive out the negativity of the world.

I have been a few days behind, but I have finally caught up. I too am sad to hear of Dorothy’s passing. I don’t post often but I read almost everyday. I loved to read her posts.

I am trying to find the SRT She’s group but keep finding the main page. I’ll keep looking. Are y’all sure it set to public?

Please pray for me. I work on Sunday’s and have been struggling with either going to church right before work, or figuring out another rhythm for this season of my life. I know God has a plan.

    1. Kim Mullins says:

Munchkin I also work on Sundays. But I work 7p-7a. So I could go to church when I was younger, come home grab a nap and go. But now I’m older and I struggle going to church on the Sundays I’m working. Especially now there are no kids in the house.

  10. Cee Gee says:

MARI V – Changing that prayer to this: may God give you a fresh passion for life and an extra measure of stamina for your school work – along with a special moment of joy today! ❤

    1. Mari V says:

      Ah…. Thank you, Cee Gee.

  11. Gayle Craik says:

CEE GEE, thank you for the “blanket prayer” for all of us She’s. Need that this morning.

  14. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Happy Lord’s Day and first day of the week! Praising God that He not only made us new – He is continuously “re-making” us!

Blessings gs to you all dear sisters!

  15. Mari V says:

I like the NIV version. The very last part of 2 Corinthians 5:17,…… the new is here!
Sometimes I feel like I need I do over every single day. I want to be made new every single day.

  16. Cee Gee says:

I pray a “blanket prayer” for ALL SHES, but today I specifically prayed for:
    LYNNE FROM ALABAMA
    LINDA IN NC
    GRAMIE SUE
    NANCY S
for a quiet day for your guys, an extra measure of energy and peace with a special moment of joy.
GAYLE CRAIK – stamina through your treatment and peace in your heart… and a special moment of joy.
TERESA DONLEY – Peace in your heart, an extra ounce of joy in your day.

  17. Cee Gee says:

Every praise is to our God.
Every word of worship with one accord
Every praise every praise is to our God.

    2 Corinthians 3:18
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow! This chorus by Hezekiah Walker came to mind this morning and it always makes my spirit glad! We don’t sing it at church often enough!

    Sing hallelujah to our God
Glory hallelujah is due our God
Every praise every praise is to our God.
    (4 times)

    God my Savior
    God my Healer
    God my Deliverer
Yes He is, yes He is (2 times)

Have a blessed day sisters and bring a smile to someone’s spirit!

    GM She’s!

Renew and restore! Beautiful two words. Emotionally, mentally, physically and everlasting. Thankful the God of the eternal cares enough for each one of us to give us a way to him, and not only then, but now! Through worship, bible reading, prayer, nature, the Spirit, and knowing Jesus Christ, it is hard to fathom the overwhelming love.

For those who wanted to find the fb group we created to be able to connect a little bit more in addition to here it is labeled SRT-She’s! I still didn’t see your name Carrie Hutton? Did you find the regular She Reads Truth page maybe instead? Christiana Sach let me know if you need more help!

    Have a great Sunday!

  26. Fabi . says:

Thank you God for your GRACE. For your patience when I keep failing at the things you’re wanting me to grow in. But thanks be to God that you renew and restore. The old is gone. I can claim that and not look back. Train me up to be more like you. Help me to embrace what you have ahead. And Holy Spirit show me, teach me so I can withstand. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

  27. Kelly (NEO) says:

One day my reality will align with God’s reality, that I am a new creation inside and out!

Let’s join Ethan the Ezrahite in proclaiming:
    “I will sing about the Lord’s faithful love forever;
I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth.
    For I will declare,
    ‘Faithful love is built up forever;
you establish your faithfulness in the heavens'” (Ps 89:1-2).
