Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
This week, memorize the first part of our key verse for this plan.
Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
—1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Rejoice always, pray constantly and give thanks in everything
Pray without ceasing
♥️
I will rejoice in the Lord always❤️
Rejoice always
I have been through this with one of mine, who thinks I am sinning and a hypocrite because I divorced his abusive father (who he doesn’t believe was abusive). It tore my heart to pieces. If you are not already doing so, reassure your children of your unconditional love no matter what they believe. Respect their beliefs (no matter how much it hurts) but also expect them to treat YOU with respect even if they don’t with to participate in any of your religious observances. I am seeing a change in my son since I didn’t allow him to see me for Christmas last year (but met him for lunch the following day). He knew I was serious about expecting respect. I pray you and your husband find your own way to enforce boundaries with unconditional love this season. ❤️
I love this way to remember the verse! Thank you!! ♥️
Amen
❤️
Rejoice always! To do this, we have to ponder all that there is for us to rejoice about, rather than thinking about the negative. And it leads us to give thanks.

Thankful this Lord’s Day I woke up and for the finished work of my Savior.
Rejoice with me and give thanks to God as we baptize our 8 year old daughter Daphne this morning. She professed faith the day before we started our Romans study so she and I went through that together and then we studied some of our church’s guidelines around baptism (what, who, how, when, why). Her daddy is baptizing her and he works on Sundays so it has been a pickle to get that sorted out but he is leaving work early (he has to go in at 2am) so he can get to church. Then we are having a party afterwards. Please pray for her walk with the Lord. He has blessed her with an early calling so I just pray that through the many ups and downs that are ahead of her that she would remember that she loves a relational God who brought her to himself without her having to do anything first.
Dawn praying for the family in your community. Tina prayers for your sciatica.
Rejoicing in God my savior! Praying constantly throughout my day. Giving thanks
I am thankful for the reminder of this verse & for this study! I am trying to apply what I’m learning – yesterday as I sat in stopped traffic on the highway I said, Ok Lord – what can I be thankful for right now in this moment (of frustration)? …lots came to mind: our new (used) car that we got this summer at a very reasonable price & low mileage! That I was going to spend the afternoon with my daughter who is expecting our 1st grand baby! That I was able to make the drive that some years back I never would have been able to do because of panic attacks! The new day, my family…and on & on. There is always something to be thankful for!
@Kelly Neo – praise God for restoring g your funds!
@Lynn from Alabama – in agreeance with all your prayers!
@Jen B – I am so sorry your engagement didn’t work out. Praying for you & for your betrothed.
@Bebe Rodgers – praying God’s peace on you in this time of uncertainty, & that God will provide you with another job soon.
@Sara D – so good to hear from you! Praying for Gods leading & his will to be done concerning the guy at your church.
@Dawn Prenatt – praying, there are no words.
@Laura – I have two prodigals as well, praying for you – wisdom, right words, and for them.
Have a blessed Lords Day!
We’re doing a study of gratitude at church this month and (surprise!) 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 are the memory verses. I love how God coordinates things to sink them into my thick skull. ❤️
As much as I love this verse, I have never memorized it. I work from home, so where I have my God time is where I also work. So, I put today’s memory verse on a notecard and placed it to where I can always see it, even when I’m working. This will help me remember to calm down, be thankful, and remember in all things, I am doing it for his glory.
As soon as this study started, I wrote this verse on a card and keep it by my chair where I do my Bible reading and prayer. It is what my soul needs now, especially going into the holiday season at odds with two of my children who are in full rebellion against their Biblical upbringing and therefore, against us, their parents, who haven’t wavered from our faith. The devotional that MERCY shared yesterday from Oswald Chambers really spoke to my heart (thank you for sharing). This is my deepest desire, to put God first, second and third, but in doing so, I am paying the price of not having a relationship with two of my children. It is so heartbreaking and I question myself frequently. My husband is strong in this area and I am grateful for that, but although we don’t want to compromise anything for our faith, we need to constantly seek God’s wisdom on the right way to love our children in the midst of their rebellion. I’m not sure we always get it right, and I just pray for God’s grace as we stumble along, whole-heartedly wanting to put Him first, second and third without ruining our relationship with our children who are gifts from Him.
Amen
Ladies, asking for prayers for a family in our community. This past week, there was a horrific, tragic shooting that took the lives of a few innocent people. One being the mom of kids I went to high school with (20ish years ago).
Praying God is with their family during these times, and honestly, I’m not even sure what else to say in prayer.
Thank you, ladies, continuing to lift all these requests up!
Amen
Prayers sent♥️
