Judges 2:11-12

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week we’ll continue to memorize Judges 2:11–12a. We’ll memorize the rest of verse 11 and part of verse 12, a reminder of how God’s people continued to abandon Him for other gods.

11 The Israelites did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. They worshiped the Baals 12 and abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt.
—Judges 2:11–12a

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice!

I keep going back to Jephthah… further notes wonder if a man who knew God’s law so well could be ignorant of His aversion to human sacrifice. Further investigation muses as to whether Jephthah may have assimilated pagan beliefs and customs, as he was a social outcast, as the son of a prostitute. We may never know. Something we can ask Him about when we get to heaven, hmmm? Of course, we won’t care then… we can’t even imagine how glorious heaven will be!

Rest in the Lord today, sweet She’s!
