Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
For this study, we will memorize our key passage, Matthew 9:35–36. This week we will start with the first part of verse 35, which begins to describe Jesus’s ministry.
Jesus continued going around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd—Matthew 9:35–36

I am his 1 sheep that he left the 99 for!
Amen ❤️

The beginning of vs 35 spoke to my heart!! Jesus WENT to them. In order for us to spread the Word of God in the most Christlike way, we have to GO out into our communities and into the world and teach them where they are! We can’t stay home and keep it to ourselves hoping for revival in the world!
May we learn to love him as deeply as he loves us
Tina thank you so much. I love you.
I’m blessed
Amen
This passage made me smile and gives me hope! Thank You, Jesus!

Tina thank you for the words of encouragement! I sorely needed them today. I don’t know what is wrong with me- certainly the fatigue of the first trimester is wreaking havoc on my mood. Your words really lifted me up thank you sister !! ❤️
♥️
How great is the love of the father , not to want his very children to be lost. A love that cannot be compared. Thankful for such love
Lord God help us to teach the GREAT NEWS of Your One and Only Son Christ Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection and of the Holy Spirit and how to be filled with it. You have been, are and always will be Ruler of rulers, Lord of lords, and the Almighty and Most Powerful God. Remind us also You are a caring, loving and forgiving Father. As we go out into the world this week Lord be with us and watch over us. Help us to show others the way, the truth and the light. Amen.
Sisters be blessed and spread the GREAT NEWS of Christ and the Holy Spirit throughout the world.
Happy Sunday Dear She’s!
We didn’t make it to church this morning (2nd Sunday now) But watched online and it was an amazing service as our Pastor is in a study on Generations and the importance to pass down the Truth to our kids (and anyone). He was much more passionate today of how vital it is for us Christians to teach and stand on the truth of Jesus, the ONLY path to God. We ended up going at the end of the last service to see a friend of mine that was getting baptized today that we didn’t want to miss! It was great and heartwarming to see so many lined up to get publicly baptized into our church family, the big C church, and mainly of course born-again in Christ, through Christ, and with the Holy Spirit! This friend I met in a small group this summer and she was broken coming out of a bitter divorce. Today she is a different person!
I pray that we She’s can be an example, a light, a shoulder to cry on, a prayer warrior, friend to the broken, and a pointer to the Savior, in all our ways and days. Lord, bless each one of my sister she’s, my cherished friends here, and guide them and fill them each up daily with your manna and give them the hunger and desire to change the world for you, whether it be big or small, or in word or deed, by encouragement or however You Lord see fit, we just want to be a vessel for You! In Jesus name, Amen and Amen!
@Kimberly Z. You are SO sweet. Thank you for praying for me! I feel SO loved here at SRT. And it means a lot to me that you and all this she’s are praying for my car situation. And as far as Running goes, sometimes it takes lacing up those shoes and getting out there even when I don’t feel like it. I put on worship music or something I love listening to. Sometimes even the SRT podcast. When I go by myself, it’s Jesus and me time.
Amen
❤️
@Mari praying for your car situation to get better still! I wish I had your motivation to run! I have never been a good runner but like how much of a challenge it is to me. I ran a brutal (haha) half marathon a couple years ago but haven’t since. One of my goals this year is to run another one! I hope you all have a great week this week. Thanks for all the prayers. You are all truly a gift.
God bless you for being a teacher. Things are so different from back in the day I can’t imagine your daily challenges.
❤
Amen. And thank you for your words.
Speak truth to me Lord Jesus❤️
Amen
The Light of the Word becomes brighter to me each day as I read and study it. Instead of praying for God to shine on my path and show me the way, I realize His Light is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus showed us how to live. And the way we choose to live reveals our mindset. Jesus is the great “I Am” and we are called to an intimate relationship with Him. It is up to us how we participate with Him. The way Jesus lived among us is told in the scriptures and is at our fingertips. Through the Old Testament backdrop and the lives of the Apostles, we have all the light we need to see and live. We have the Great Shepherd to guide us on this difficult path. He shows us where to enter the narrow gate. There is no need to pray for an open door, because He is the door, He is the gateway. He leads us to life even as we see many entering the broad gate that leads to destruction. I pray that my life would display and teach the way Jesus did, sometimes with words, and often by action. He was gentle when needed and always aware of His audience. Whether to one or many, he taught and showed them the way to life. “And Jesus was going about all the cities and villages teaching…” (Matthew 9:35a). We have the great treasure of His teaching as recorded in the scriptures, all we have to do is read and learn from them. I do not need to wonder at what my purpose in life is, but only wonder at the undeserved gift of love He gave me. All my other questions are answered in Him. In this, I have all that I need. Thank You, Lord. Maranatha.
I love those verses. It reminds me to show compassion on the high school students I teach every day. So many are so lost and just want compassion. Praying they know the true Shepherd.
@searching- thank you for prayers! ❤️
So grateful that Jesus feels compassion for us! He IS compassion. And what are we? I was curious to see other translations. We are- distressed and dejected (CSB),dispirited and distressed (AMP), worried and helpless (ERV), harassed and helpless (NIV), faint and scattered (KJV), troubled (NLV)! Yes, all of the above. It’s so obvious that we need a shepherd. I’m so glad He’s ours! With Him we can be safe and secure, holy and heaven bound, light and love! ❤️
Mt 9:36 is so prevalent in modern society. I am praying for all who are without a shepherd.

We are called to join Him (Jesus) in being His light to all- Matthew 5:16
Praying that those who visit our fellowships today will see His light of compassion through us, and that the seeds which have been sown through the preaching of the Gospel will bear fruit.
Sharing the Good News of Jesus and showing compassion to others- we can do this, sisters! CHURCHMOUSE spoke yesterday of sharing God’s grace (love the warm blanket analogy!). As Christ followers, we have so much to share!
MARI V – praying for transportation answers
GRAMSIESUE – to answer your question, Yes! I have stared at my screen time and again, wanting to say something but my mind is blank. Your post yesterday was so encouraging! Praying for Steve, your daughter and grandson and you ❤️
REBECCA W – praying for healing
MICHELLE PATIRE – loved your mindset of not settling! That applies to so many/every aspect of our lives. God does want what’s best for us.
RHONDA J – praying for healing for husband’s cough!
Patience…Jesus continued with compassion. I struggle to be patient. Jesus did not. Lord, direct my heart to continue or in some cases begin with compassion for all those around me. You loved first and I am to show that love to others. Change my heart, Lord. Amen.
Amen
Love pondering Jesus continued with compassion. Let me do the same
Jesus went to towns and village. Wherever He went, there was the Good News. It was spoken from His lips. It was evident in His miracles. It was embodied in His very being because He Himself is the Good News. May we acknowledge Him in the way we speak and act. May the fruit of the Spirit give credence that we are Jesus followers. We have Good News to tell.
Good morning! Let’s join David in praising the Lord today:
“7 My heart is confident, God, my heart is confident.
I will sing; I will sing praises.
8 Wake up, my soul!
Wake up, harp and lyre!
I will wake up the dawn.
9 I will praise you, Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your faithful love is as high as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches the clouds.
11 God, be exalted above the heavens;
let your glory be over the whole earth” (psalm 57:7-11).
Thank You Jesus!
Jesus is so good and compassionate! Its so awful being without a Shepherd, being lost and confused in a world as angry and jaded as ours is. It’s only been a year, but I cannot remember how I got through the days as they passed by so horror-filled and dark before I was found by Jesus. Distressed and dejected – those are words that certainly described my state of existence before Jesus. I am so thankful that He looked with compassion on me. Thank You, Abba, for sending Jesus to save me! Thank You for loving and caring and saving – even when I did not deserve it in the least, Jesus came down out of Heaven in humility, leaving Your glory and Your splendor behind, to be a man, to understand me and to live and die for me, to cast light into the dark that had swallowed me up. Thank You, Jesus, for choosing me!

“Jesus continued”; I’m struck by that statement. He continued with “compassion”when, I can’t help but imagine, if it were me I may grow annoyed or even indifferent. As His laborers, may we be driven by God’s compassion for others and for ourselves.
