Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.
This week, as we continue to memorize Exodus 15:1–3, we will finish memorizing verse 2, which demonstrates Israel’s commitment to praise the Lord.
1 I will sing to the LORD,
for he is highly exalted;
he has thrown the horse
and its rider into the sea.
2 The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
This is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The LORD is a warrior;
the LORD is his name.
—Exodus 15:1–3

All praise to you, Mighty God
We give you all the glory!

Whenever they mentioning singing and songs in the Bible I always wonder to what time did they sing? This is the musician in me. I wish they had written the music notes with the songs.
Sisters, I want to thank you for all the comments, especially Tina and Kelly (NEO) and Jennifer Loves Jesus, what you commented help to bring my positive attitude back. You see after my sister told me yesterday I couldn’t understand why God would want to take another person I loved so dearly. Since 2003, I’ve lost my son, my mom, my dad, my brother-in-law and my niece (who was like a daughter). But with all the comments I read today I’m feeling more positive. Thank you sisters.
So yesterday I tried to put a comment in about the different versions of Psalm 29:2 and how they can help me and other understand the Bible better. You see, I have dyslexia and learning problems so it’s not always easy for me to understand wording, large words or what people say. I sometimes have to read something two or three times. Please don’t change the way you write though. These are the versions that stood out to me:
NET — Acknowledge the majesty of the Lord’s reputation! Worship the Lord in holy attire!
GOD’S WORD — Give to the Lord the glory his name deserves. Worship the Lord in ⸤his⸥ holy splendor.
Good News — Praise the Lord’s glorious name; bow down before the Holy One when he appears.
The Message — In awe before the glory, in awe before God’s visible power. Stand at attention!
Dress your best to honor him!
New International Readers Version — Praise the Lord for the glory that belongs to him. Worship the Lord because of his beauty and holiness.
This last version is geared more towards 3rd – 7th graders, it’s the version they took to camp.
Sisters, I have two prayer requests: yesterday my sister, Carol, found out she has bone cancer. It’s in the early stages so the doctors’ say it’s very treatable. Second my d-i-l goes for embryo implant later this week and we hope everything goes well.
Be blessed and think positive.
Tina, praying for you and your siblings. I went through this with both my mom and uncle as they were passing. To cope with their lingering on, we would joke that in our family, we don’t know how to let go, even in death. It is a hard thing to experience indeed and I wish I could give you a hug.
Julia, praying for your time with N and a chance to share the gospel.
Happy Sunday, She’s!
I LOVE mornings! I’ve always been a morning person. I love Summer! I love that I can sit out in the front porch or sometimes the back and enjoy the quietness I of the beginning of the day. The cool wind blowing through the trees before the heat begins. Yep our area gets to 100°. But even that I love. I’m praying for wherever those sirens are heading right now. have a blessed Sunday my dear sisters. Tina, I’m praying for you dear sister. And I’m sending you a hug. I can’t wait to meet you someday.
Kelly (NEO) wow!!! Thanks for that insight!!!! Lots to ponder there! I love how Jesus is everywhere in the Bible! Father God open my eyes that I may see!!!!
Yah is my song, my strength as I sing of His goodness. This is my God and I will praise Him (Exodus 15:2). He is a mighty warrior who saves (Zephaniah 3:17). He is in our midst. He renews me in His love. He sings over me. Grief or pain will not shut out His voice. I hear His song over suffering. Over sadness. Over the hard things. He gives me courage. Align my motives with Your will Lord. Help me to pray with honest devotion to You. You give the greater grace (James 4:6). You give grace to the humble. I draw near to You God, draw near to me (v.8). Today I will praise You. Tomorrow is in Your hands. Selah. Maranatha. Amen.
Praying, TINA.
Thank you KELLY (NEO). And good job on seeing yet another connection to Christ – further shows us that everything points to Him and His sacrifice for our sinful selves. Always amazed by that.
I will rejoice with you Sister!
Love your thoughts here – when I read that passage I was thinking along similar lines, but hadn’t thought about it as fully as you have. Thanks for sharing :)
Tina, praying for you and your family..
Tina,I pray that you will feel God’s arms holding you very close during these difficult times. He will comfort you
This is the day the Lord has made! Thank You Jesus for sustaining this world with Your power.
Listened to the podcast yesterday and the following was not mentioned, so I’m bringing it up for consideration.
EX 26:7-13, the Lord gives instructions about the curtains that basically act as a ceiling for the tabernacle. These are very detailed and full of beauty reflecting the glory of God. However only the priests who entered the tabernacle would have seen them. Verse 14, “Make a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of fine leather on top of that.” These two other coverings hid the beauty from being seen by the rest of the world. The first being red (blood?) and the second being leather (flesh?).
Track with me here (forgive me if y’all already thought about this). Jesus’ beauty and glory that He had with the Father was covered in flesh and blood.
“The Word became flesh and [tabernacled] among us” (John 1:14).
The whole tabernacle is such an amazing shadow of what God was going to do by the Son in the New Covenant.
Okay, I’m done geeking out. Enjoy the Lord’s Day, Shes.
SEARCHING – praying the COVID fog and other symptoms dissipates quickly. ❤
JULIE A – praying for your time with N. May the Holy Spirit direct your conversations to bring her to an understanding of the Lord’s love, grace, and gift of salvation.
The word just constantly amazes me!
Hallelujah
The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
This is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The LORD is a warrior;
the LORD is his name.
Recalling these last 11 days, all I can do is praise my fathers God!
He has been my strength and my song, when, I have not known how or what to say to my siblings when difficult decisions had to be made or even in their sadness and confusion with all that has been going on..
BUT GOD…
This has been a journey, that has reminded me of my God, His grace, love, mercy, compassion, faithfulness..
I don’t know how long this journey will take, but what I do know is… I am able because He strengthens me to be able. He walks with me, and He guides me, and gives me wisdom in my words and actions.., most importantly, He has constantly surrounded me/us in His love and grace(always helpful in tricky situations)!
This is my God, my father’s God, and I will praise him and I will exhalt Him.. ALWAYS..
AMEN.
Praying sisters that your Sunday is so wrapped in His love and goodness. ❤
