Ephesians 6:11

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Ephesians 6:11 is the key verse for this study that we are memorizing together, a reminder to us to put on the full armor of God.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.
––Ephesians 6:11

For an extra challenge, expand your memorization to include the full armor of God passage, Ephesians 6:10–20.

The armor of God is always available to us as believers, but it’s our choice to put it on and to fight with armor or to be naked without defense to the arrows and attacks of the devil. The disquises He takes on in the world i really think would be awesome to have the armor took
Of The Goggles of investigation! To inspect the world and our own thinking with. To hunt for clues of deceipt and replace them with this Snazzy get up.

Well, I don’t know about it always being inside of us i do believe the desire for all of these valuable items lives deep inside of us and is actívate d by our belief. it’s what makes Jesus come to life in our very being. I think it’s why Paul emphasizes so much to Put on the armor because everyday we can make the choice to listen to the lies and Schemes of the enemy or to put on the belt of truth.

    Good Morning She’s!

    From HRT-
The good news that Jesus is victorious over sin and death provides the peace we are looking for in an unstable world. The gospel of peace has the power to steady us no matter what comes our way, because it tells us that we’re never alone. We can always trust that our God is with us, because when we were at our worst, He sent Jesus to bring us peace.

We’ll never be certain about what tomorrow has in store for us, but we can rest in secure peace as we are carried along the road of life by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    SO good!

Here is the extra detail also from today’s lesson (usually included at the top of the commentary: “ Worn like a jacket, the soldier’s breast plate was made from leather, along with iron or bronze. The breast plate protected the soldier’s shoulders and chest. Like the breast plate protects one’s most vital organs, God’s righteousness lived out protects believers from false accusations and attack.” ♥️

Thanks for the daily scripture references. When this happens I read HRT. It’s always interesting to get the male perspective on the same topic & then come back here later in the day when it’s posted to get the female perspective.

I was worried the issue with seeing the study in app was just mine. Hopefully it’s resolved soon, but grateful to find the verses here. ❤️

I went over and read the HRT devotion for today which really spoke to me! I definitely need to be reminded that the gospel is the only thing that can provide the firm foundation I so desperately look for. I am so quick to look for security in other things. I also like what Collin wrote “We can always trust that our God is with us, because when we were at our worst, He sent Jesus to bring us peace.” So thankful for Jesus and HIS faithfulness! I hope everyone has a great start to their week! Praying for you @Sarah D <3

Good morning everyone, just read the devo over at HRT. If you all could please pray for me, I woke up last night after having a bad dream. It was a weird one, my family was having a Star Wars lightsaber battle with these bad guys, but my dad ended up dying and it was really sad. Didn’t want to start the week this way, but trying to remind myself that it’s not real and that my dad is okay. Prayers that I would be kept in the Lord’s perfect peace today.

I too am an early bird . I am here in Maine ! I woke up early and decided I needed to get back on track. There is something extra special meeting with our LORD in the early morning before the sun arises. I’ve been awake since 4 am . My devotional book had a surprise for me . I was reminded to stay alert using Eph. 2:10-11 for today’s scripture ! How cool is that ! Now it is time for me to open the pages of God’s Word and let Him show me what He has prepared for me from His Word ! Have a wonderful day !

  26. Leigh says:

Thanks for the passages Arina! I’m the U.K. so always reading earlier than US time.

  27. Arina says:

For those without study books, the readings for today are: Ephesians 6:10-20, Isaiah 52:7, Isaiah 9:2-7, Isaiah 26:1-9, Nahum 1:15, John 16:31-33, Romans 10:14-17
The devotional will probably come online later.

Amen Jennifer loves Jesus. Lets upkeep our armour to prevent rust and dullness.

  32. Jennifer Loves Jesus says:

Memorizing these verses of armor in Ephesians sparked thoughts of what is being done to care for these tools for battle. Just as with real steel and leather, care must be taken to prevent rust and dry rot. The sword must be sharpened, the grime of daily battle cleaned and waxed away. “The Christian’s armor decays two ways: either by violent battery, when overcome by temptation and sin, or else by neglecting to furbish and scour it with those means which are as oil to keep it clean and bright” (W. Gurnall). Lord, let me now become lazy in caring for this armor given to bear. May I wear it with determination and honor, and keep it shiny and bright with joy and endurance.

  34. Catherine Falconer says:

Have any of you looked up the belt buckle etc of the armour of God?

  35. Stephanie G says:

I read this in the Enduring Word commentary and thought some of you might find it helpful. “Having put on the breastplate of righteousness: Righteousness is represented as a breastplate which provides essential protection for the most vital organs. We can no sooner battle against spiritual enemies in our own righteousness than a soldier can effectively fight without his breastplate.

    i. This is not our own earned righteousness, not a feeling of righteousness, but a righteousness received by faith in Jesus. It gives us a general sense of confidence, an awareness of our standing and position.

ii. “Thank God for experiences, but do not rely on them. You do not put on the ‘breastplate of experiences’, you put on the breastplate of ‘righteousness.’ ” (Lloyd-Jones)

iii. We are sometimes tempted to say to the devil, “Look at all I’ve done for the Lord.” But that is shaky ground, though sometimes it feels good. It is shaky because feelings and experiences change quickly. God’s righteousness isn’t. The breastplate of righteousness is your best defense against the sense of spiritual depression and gloom that comes against us.”
