Day 35

Weekly Truth

from the Acts reading plan

Acts 2:37-41

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve memorized Acts 2:37–40. This week, we’ll add our final verse, verse 41, where we see the results of Peter’s message. As you go about your daily routine, practice saying this verse out loud with the verses you have already memorized until you can recite Acts 2:37–41. Don’t be discouraged if you can’t remember it all yet! Keep coming back throughout the week as you work on committing this passage to memory.

37 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, “Be saved from this corrupt generation!” 41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

Thank you ARINA! My days are crazy and if I don’t do my reading first thing in the morning the opportunity disappears. Grateful that you found the reading and posted this information. Have a great week!

Hey Michelle! Don’t be so hard on yourself! Most of us can’t run from here to the nearby corner, let alone attempt a half marathon! I used to tell my clients in their first attempts at 5k’s that there is no shame in walking, they were at least out there being active rather than sitting on the sidelines. There is something about exercise that can heal your spirit and give you great praying and healing time. I was in the best shape of my life after my divorce! I would cry my eyes out to God and pray. That is when my life turned around, for God. Learning that I couldn’t control everything, that I would turn my life over to Him and let Him guide me. It made me anew. So give yourself some grace, and thank you for sharing your feelings with us!

Read today’s reading over on HRT. I’m struck by how God uses unexpected people and circumstances to move His good and His plan forward. The Jewish leaders are plotting to kill Paul and God uses 200 Roman soldiers to escort him out of their grasp.
Alex’s post is excellent and it really gave me something to ponder and meditate. If we keep ourselves in tune with the Holy Spirit, how might God use those around us to speak to us? How might the Holy Spirit use us to speak into someone’s life today?

MICHELLE – wow. What a post. I can feel your hurt between the lines. Running can be your place of meeting God even if the movement isn’t pretty. I’m not fast but I have had some pretty emotional moments praying while I run. Find a place where you can let it all out. He loves you and He’s sees you. Well, done for finishing despite the difficulty.

thank you everyone for your prayers!

I finished my race, but it was tough on me emotionally and physically. I fell at one point and just started crying as I tried to keep going. I cried a few times just because I felt emotionally overwhelmed with life, not just the race. I had a horrible day at work the day before that I need to address this week with my boss and co-worker who were unresponsive to my hurting texts.

I think I need to take this week to work through why I feel so overwhelmed. I delayed doing the podcast until next week.
Everyone was so nice to tell me congrats but I honestly don’t feel proud of myself, right now. I’m more upset at how hard the race was and how quickly I have become stressed. Last time I ran a half, I was 40 minutes faster and 30+ lbs lighter. It has been quite a battle with my weight and recovery from ED.

I honestly appreciate all your prayers. Also, Mari it made me sad to read your injury prevents you from running. I pray God uses you in surprising ways that fill you with joy and comforts you in your loss. Thank you Victoria, Searching, & everyone else. God bless you.

It’s been hard for me to pray verbally. But I will continue doing what I can. God is still good and He is still on the throne.

If you need the readings for today, I believe one helpful She posted them earlier :)
