Acts 2:37-41

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

So far, we’ve memorized Acts 2:37–39. This week, we’ll add verse 40, where Peter continues his exhortation. Revisit this verse each day and say it out loud as you continue to memorize Acts 2:37-41.

37 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, “Be saved from this corrupt generation!” 41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

I have good days then bad days, but I know God forgives me every time. I just want so bad to be like Jesus and turn the other cheek.

    Dear Marilyn
We ALL are a work in progress. Do not be too hard on yourself. God loves you! He rejoices over YOU with singing ! He holds YOU in His righteous right hand ! Yes, He forgives you when you confess your sins. And every time you confess your sins and ask for forgiveness you are getting to be more like Jesus ! Not that Jesus sinned but He knows we do and when we acknowledge our sin to Him that means we are being convicted by the Holy Spirit which results in our becoming more like Christ.
Be Blessed my sister in Christ !

It definitely helps to write it down on paper or your iPad etc 3 times each day.

I am praying for your ultrasound tomorrow, Victoria. May it continue to show a healthy baby and give you peace of mind. Also, praying for your stepdaughter, Sarah P. I haven’t done very well memorizing these verses. I’m still trying to memorize the verses in Deuteronomy from the previous study. Traci, memorizing scripture is hard for me too. I find writing them on index cards and sticking them on my dashboard helps. I also copy the verses to my lock screen and repeat them frequently or especially if I can’t sleep at night. I hope that helps you.

  11. Victoria E says:

Traci I am not great at it either. When I had to memorize for school/ boards I would write it down a million times and then try and say it from memory a lot as well and eventually something would trickle in there. Try to pick out the important verbs and nouns in each sentence.

  12. Victoria E says:

Mari V it’s ok! Thank God we have forgiveness of sins, and God is facto forgive us our sins when we confess them. Praying for you. Sarah P praying for your stepdaughter as well. Thank you for those who are continuing to pray for me and the baby, our ultrasound is tomorrow and I believe God will continue to show His mercy and faithfulness !

  13. Mari V says:

@Sarah P, i’m going to pray right now for the situation for your stepdaughter.

I already messed up this morning. Sometimes I don’t understand myself why let “little things”get to me. This is the main reason why I do my best to get up before everybody. If I start to make conversation it interrupts my quiet time. I don’t like how I responded this morning. Next week and I’ll try to get in and get up earlier

Does anyone have any tips for memorization? I’m horrible at it. I try and everything just flies out of my mind. I think it’s because I have so much stress in my life….

  17. Ashley E says:

I will absoltely pray for her and that she has unwavering faith in herself and what she deserves. To be loved like Jesus loves her.

  18. Sarah P says:

Sisters, would you please pray for my stepdaughter. She is struggling in a bad relationship and my heart aches for her. Pray she would see clearly and believe the truth of her identity in Jesus.

  19. Melody Bates says:

I read a devotion this morning that focused on obeying those in authority over you, unless it goes against God’s Law. They were placed there by God and by obeying them you are obeying God. I struggle with this sometimes, and my prayer is that His Spirit helps me to be stronger in this area.
