Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.
This week we will commit to memory verse 22 of Paul’s sermon. First, try saying verses 17–22 all together. Then, to help you memorize this next part of Scripture, repeat verse 22, pausing to consider each of the Lord’s actions. Finally, read it out loud one last time, pausing to consider the Lord’s description of David.
17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, made the people prosper during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm. 18 And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness; 19 and after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 This all took about 450 years. After this, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, “I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.”
23 From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel the Savior, Jesus.
—Acts 13:17–23

Happy 4th! Grateful we can live in the freedom to study Gods word without fear of death
Happy 4th ! Thank you to everyone who prayed God really intervened in the work situation I was facing and resolved it no sooner than I had typed those words here! Good morning dear sisters! Happy Independence Day! Let us thank a soldier out there today!! Fourth of July has always been one of my most favorite holidays. Growing up I have beautiful memories of my parents packing up the car, the whole family driving to the lake, spending the entire day barbecuing, sitting, resting, and having a wonderful food then driving back home for fireworks. I thank God that He gives us the ability to “remember“. Let us “remember” those who have paid the ultimate price so that we could have this freedom in the USA. Most of all let us “remember” the One and only Jesus Christ who paid the ultimate price for our eternal freedom to one day be with Him forever. I can’t wait!
Happy Sunday and Happy 4th! God Bless and have a wonderful day! Take time to smell the roses today.
Truly grateful for the gracious gift of freedom we have in Christ.
And first this community.
And for those who don’t mind praying for me to pass my NCE exam as I pursue licensure as a mental health counselor here in the US, I would appreciate it. The exam is Wednesday the 7th, 8am EST, 4 hours.
Blessings to you all this sweet Sunday!
Amen Ahyana. I will pray it’s going in my notes app under prayer list :)
To those in the USA – Happy Independence Day!
And to all of us may we live in the truth of our true independence from the tyranny of sin!
If any of you think of him, my brother is deployed right now with a special forces group. He keeps in closer touch with my husband than me, so I get little snippets. Sounds like it’s a short but busy deployment. His relationship with his fiancé cannot be given the time it needs right now, and I’m sure that’s terrible for him. Not to mention her heartache. Please pray for Nate and his fiancé.
