Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

1 Timothy 4:7-9

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Over the course of this study, we are memorizing 1 Timothy 4:7b–9. This week, we’ll add verse 9.

Train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.
—1 Timothy 4:7b–9

It’s amazing too to consider how training physically is also a step of obedience, and the spiritual benefit is even greater than it is to the body

Thanks Penny! It’s so funny that I put Romans 12:12. That is a verse that I’m memorizing right now and I had just written it five times , lol! I didn’t realize the statements were summary’s but it now makes sense that I couldn’t find the right translation. Thanks for taking the time to respond!!

  9. Penny Winget says:

Heidi, these are truths taken from these verses and not the actual verses. This truth is connected with Eph. 1:18, not Rom. 12:12. Hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for all the encouragement to grow in Christ. I was wondering if there was a way to have the Bible verse art with a transparent background? I like your art and think it’s great to put on my phone, but miss my kids’ picture on my phone too. Just an idea. Thanks again for all you do.

    1. Alexcia M.Lewis says:

Hey Alisa! I believe that’s a iPhone thing. Having only one wallpaper at a time. But I get what you mean! I usually will keep a photo of my family ( or myself lol) on my home screen & scripture memory verse on my Lock Screen.
