Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.
This week we will memorize the key verse for 1 John, a declaration of God’s love and sacrifice.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Natalie, what a precious heart you have. I needed those words right then. Thank you.
Until very recently I fell out of step. How He can forgive me I will never understand but I am so very grateful that He welcomes me back with open arms. I am still struggling “to find” Him or to have the relationship I had before. Finding SRT is a true blessing.
This verse is a great reminder of Gods Grace. How he takes our hand and forgives us for any sin we have committed and renews are hearts, body and mind. I pray that those who read this today don’t feel ashamed or unworthy of Gods love and forgiveness. He loves you and accepts you just the way you are. I pray this read touches someone heart.

This verse is such a beautiful reminder of the truth of God’s grace and the need for repentance. I love that it reminds me of my part – confession of sin – and God’s part – forgiveness and cleansing of sin and unrighteousness, all because he is faithful and just. I’m also reading an old SRT study on some of the OT prophets and read Zephaniah 1 this morning, which was a very humbling and to be honest, quite terrifying picture of God’s rightful wrath and judgment against sin. That’s what I deserve. But then coming and reading these words from 1 John was like a balm to my soul, reminding me that while that’s what I deserve, that’s not what I’ve received. I’m really praying for my friends and family who don’t know the forgiveness and love of Christ to give up their pride and come to him with upturned hands. I don’t always know what to say or do, especially when we’ve talked about faith things many times before, but I’m trying to at least spend more of this time at home praying for them, knowing that nothing is impossible with God.
To all my beautiful sisters. You are all dearly loved. I look forward to meeting with all of you every day. To all the young moms, please know this is only temporary, the changing of the diapers, the feedings, the sleepless nights. Find your window of quiet time that works best for you and your child as these times go by so fast. I actually miss those middle of the night waking up to my babies.. I got a late start this morning as I stayed up late. Again. My daughter and I do a devotional just before bed so that made my time even later. But that’s OK. To all you Proverbs 31 woman (senior saints, If that’s ok to say), I look forward for your insights and wisdom and the truth is I am learning from all of you here. I am a full-time working mom and I had longed for times like this to get things done, relax, and most importantly have time for my kids without always having to rush. We are in hard times, but at the same time, God has given me time to do all these things. Trust me I am treasuring every single moment. I love you all.

In 2 Thessalonians chapter 3, there is a verse that says “not all have faith but the Lord is faithful.” Like this week’s key verse in 1 John, it reminds me that my sin never changes God’s character or the finished work of Christ on the cross. Praise God for the righteousness we have in Christ and His forgiveness of our sins!
I pray that I find peace from the scripture and when I confess my sins, there won’t be self doubt or negative thoughts .
I pray this for you as well. I struggled with this for years – praying God sets your free of this by the truth of His word.
In Christ we are fully loved, fully accepted, fully forgiven. Christ died for our doubts and negative thoughts as well as our sins. I have struggled too but claim allegiance to Christ and the covering of his blood when negative thoughts creep in. Sending blessings your way…
Last evening I watched a wonderful show, “One World: Together At Home” it was to benefit COVID-19. I didn’t get to watch it all because it had already started but what I did watch was wonderful. The final song was amazing. On Friday I tried to post the link to a video I watched through one of my nursing newsletters the song was Better Days and it’s by OneRepublic on YouTube. I will let you look for it if you want to find it. My dear sisters in Christ remember that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are with you through thick and thin. You can turn to them no matter what your circumstance. Good times or bad times prayer or even just talking to the Lord is all you need to do. These last two weeks since the death of my niece and my car wreck I have found comfort in turning to the Lord many times, especially at this time of social distancing. Virtual hug to all and may God and Christ and the Holy Spirit bless all of you.

Good Morning all,
Thank God for this morning and few quiet moments with God. I am struggling with the isolation of motherhood on top of the isolation of the virus. I am seeking God’s enduring love to prop me up at a time I feel lost.
Jen B., my little girl is 20 months, my only child and Oh My Gosh, there are tough moments so I take heart to read your words. Motherhood is no joke, that’s all I’ve got to say. I love that you have used this piece of scripture to remind you of the parent/child relationship we have with God to guide you through difficult moments.
Rea Q., momsinprayer sounds like a wonderful space; “No hidden places, no darkness”. The shortcomings (i.e. sins) we commit as mothers can be heavy so having the ability to confess them and be redeemed as a tremendous blessing. The words of Calvary Covers It All come to mind “My past with sin and stain, my guilt and despair, Jesus took on him there…”
We pray this scripture every time our @momsinprayer group gets together.
Moments of confession are good…necessary…for the soul. They keep our relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit wide open. No hidden places, no darkness. They are not moments for shame, but for hope and freedom and mercy and forgiveness and total cleansing.

Absolutely churchmouse! His teenage daughters have faithfully attended church with their grandparents and prayed for him and his wife. I can’t wait for our return to church I know God will bring the entire family we have been seeing a change in the family over these weeks of pain and fear change to prayer and peace. Thank you for your prayers.
Blessed Beth, adding my prayers to your own and this of all of your church for the healing of that young man. May he continue to make steady progress and may his faith grow stronger for what he has endured. How hard this must be on his wife and extended family so my prayers go out for them as well. I’m sure the entire church is rejoicing over this good news and are eager to see him released to go home.
Thank you, Jesus, for Your great love and forgiveness and for giving us your Spirit to live within us. I absolutely agree that this season has been a time for self-reflection. Caring for my toddler full time doesn’t always allow me as much time to reflect or be in the Word as I would like, but I’m thankful for the Lord showing me that He is with me even in those challenging moments of setting boundaries and loving a little person and realizing how much I need Him in order to be the gracious mama my little boy needs (since He Himself is such a gracious Father with me as I fall short so often!). Thank you, Jesus, for the promise of eternal life that starts even now: knowing you. <3 (shout out to our dear SRT podcast hosts for linking these Scriptures. Churchmouse I so agree with you, I feel my mind is constantly focused on Him, during this time and all I want to do is what will bring
honour to Him. Last night I was so excited as the son in law of one of our church members, who happen to live her, who has been suffering so badly from the virus that 2 days ago they scraped his lungs. Last night he was taken off the ventilator was is breathing on his own. He works in the medical field, oh how they/we are celebrating.! Now I can’t wait to see what God has planned him and his family. He does have a long way to go, and we will continue to pray!
His love is so great and everyday I feel closer to Him during this time of isolation that really isn’t isolation it is time with our loving Savior!
This pandemic season is a humbling one. I have much time to read Scripture and I have much time for self reflection. I have an acute awareness of how I fall short before my holy God. How grateful I am that when I confess my sin, He forgives me. He goes even farther: He cleanses me from all my unrighteousness. My sin is no more. I am cleansed from its filth. He remembers it no more. How great is His love!
