Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.
This week we will memorize Jeremiah 15:16, Jeremiah’s meditation on God’s words during his prayer for vengeance.
Your words became a delight to me
and the joy of my heart,
for I bear your name,
LORD God of Armies.
—Jeremiah 15:16b

Your words are a delight for me.
Hebrews 8:10
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”
Abba Father. Thanks you for the words you give and how they fill me with joy and comfort. Thank you for the daily reminder of who you are and your amazing love for us despite our shortcomings
Amen
Dorothy, Amen. What a beautiful statement.
Yesterday I was to the little girl I take of at work, I’m a nurse and I do private duty with a four-year-old with multiple medical problems, the book My Heart by Corinna Luyken. It’s a very simple book: “My heart is a window, my heart is a slide. My heart can be closed or opened up wide. Some days it’s a puddle. Some days it’s a stain. Some days it is cloudy and heavy with rain. Some days it is tiny, but tiny can grow… and grow… and grow. There are days it’s a fence between me and the world, days it’s a wisper that can barely be heard. There are days it is broken, but broken can mend, and a heart that is closed can still open again. My heart is a shadow, a light and a guide. Closed or open… I get to decide.” After reading it I thought of how it reminds me of my relationship with God and Christ. How I make it cloudy and tiny. How I make open or closed. How when it is broken it can be mended. But especially, how it is for me to decide.
Father God help to continue to decide to trust and follow You, even in the cloudy and rainy times. Help to allow You to by my Light and Guide. Open my heart to You, Christ and all those around who need my help. Amen.
Happy Sunday everyone
Happy Sunday to you!
Just a friendly note, unfortunately when I use these images as lock screens, I can’t seen the time on my phone because it’s black on black…just wanted to let you all know in case it can be expanded to some white area at the top to show the time (for iPhone users)! :)
In the settings when you change the image there is a button you can slide “dark appearance dims wallpaper”. If you slide that, it fixes the issue on iPhones.
You can also edit the image and just with a marker tool, white out a spot in the too so you can see the time :)
Though I now struggle memorizing scripture, I am so thankful for these memory verses and the cards from the book help me to see them often! Thank you SRT!
God’s word = delight. Yes yes yes!
Dear Heavenly Father, may Your Word become a delight to me and the greatest joy of my heart. I thank You that I can read Your Word openly and remind myself there are many who cannot. Dearest Daddy, remind me not to take my blessings for granted. Remind me to shine Your words in this dark world. Remind me to repent. Remind me of Your holy suffering in this lenten season. May gratitude grow and shine in shine in me. Thank You, thank You, my Lord and brother.
Who doesn’t need a little more delight and joy in their life? Dive into the Word! Its promises are breathtaking. And when life is difficult, we have the God of Angel Armies leading the way. Yes, dive into the Word. The abundant life is found within its pages.
Truth. ✝️
Do I say the same as Jeremiah?
Are God’s words are “a delight to me and the joy of my heart”?
May God’s words be more to me than an interesting read, a motivation thought, or a comfort when needed.
May God’s words truly be a delight and the joy of my heart.
Amen!!
❤️
A fitting reading for the season I find myself in!
