Day 28

Weekly Truth

from the 1 & 2 Kings reading plan

2 Kings 19:27

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize a verse from God’s reply to King Hezekiah through the prophet Isaiah in day 23, a reminder that God is intimately involved in the lives of His people.

“But I know your sitting down,
your going out and your coming in,
and your raging against me.”
—2 Kings 19:27

May we choose to always do what is right in the sight of the Lord and not evil.

Nothing can be hidden. Nothing is ignored. Every detail of my life He knows.

    Mari,
My favorite name for God is El Roi-the God who sees me. There was a dark time in the past when I felt invisible. God revealed Himself as faithful even in the bleakest of days because He is the God who sees and knows. He is ever present and ever loving even when we are too despondent to realize it. I’m so thankful for your daughter’s arms around you and for your tears that tell her it’s ok to cry, to acknowledge the pain. And I’m thankful that you also press on. That is an example for your daughter as well. Praying for you all your family.

Truthfully it’s comforting to me that nothing is hidden from my God. The last 24 hours I’ve been praying and asking God about yet another situation that shouldn’t have taken place. However, I did not let it ruin my night with my daughter. She and I had a wonderful day yesterday. Pretty much all day long. She’s a teenager and sometimes just wants time alone but we had planned to spend the whole day together even involving chores and some shopping. Grocery shopping (LOL). We laughed, and laughed hard, we ate, we cried together. When I couldn’t stop crying she wrapped her tender arms around me and told me she loved me. Right now I can’t stop crying. I don’t like facing challenges but that’s OK. That’s what boundaries are for and I’m glad I finally have them. MOST of all I’m comforted knowing MY God , My Sweet Lord Jesus Christ sees and knows everything and He will guide me.

  6. Bessie says:

Kathy, I’m praying for Macy and the entire community around her. May God use this experience in incredible ways to bring healing to Macy and Glory to God.

  7. Churchmouse says:

God knows everything about me. Nothing about me is hidden from Him. He knows where I am. He knows where I’m going. He knows my thoughts. He knows my words. He knows my motives. He knows my emotions. He knows it all.

    And He loves me still.

May my life be pleasing to Him. May I delight in Him. Lord, help me, for I cannot do it without your Holy Spirit leading, guiding and correcting me.

And if I must rage, let me rage against the things that dishonor You.

    Amen.
