Day 14

Weekly Truth

from the 1 & 2 Kings reading plan

1 Kings 18:39

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for 1 Kings, a reminder that God is Lord over all.

When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said, “The Lᴏʀᴅ, he is God! The Lᴏʀᴅ, he is God!”
—1 Kings 18:39

My father-in-law was here for lunch today. My mother-in-law died of an aggressive cancer in June. They had been married 60 years. He shared today that he had a dream, or a vision…in it he was at church and Mary, healthy and whole, came up to him. She said, “It is so beautiful. Don’t miss this,” and then hugged him. He awoke with the hug and she was gone.

I am looking forward to heaven and its beauty, yet I think that gorgeousness will not even compare to the beauty of our God. Yes. The Lord, He is God. He is our God. and He made a way for us to be in the radiant beauty of His presence. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus, thank you indwelling Holy Spirit. Amen.

No matter what happens in life good or bad, HE is GOD! HE remains faithful even when we’re not! Prayers are appreciated as my daughter and I drive back home after visiting my son in college for family weekend.

That was one impressive miracle display by God through Elijah. The people were rightfully impressed. They recognized the source. How many little everyday miracles do I overlook when I should be as equally impressed? May my eyes and ears be open today to recognize the hand of God all around me. And may I quickly give Him praise.
