Day 14

Weekly Truth

from the The Parables of Jesus reading plan

Luke 12:32

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

This week we will memorize a verse which expresses God’s pleasure in revealing the secrets of the kingdom to His children, and our comfort in receiving them.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.”
– Luke 12:32

Write this passage down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

  1. Jessie says:

Every time I think about Gods unconditional love I feel as though my chest goes tight and I can’t breathe, the gravity of what that means overwhelms me and I want to cry. Please pray that I can somehow accept this and that someone will come across my path that can help me work through this.

    1. Kara says:

Is there a pastor or elder in your local church? I bet they would love to walk through this with you.

    2. Sarah says:

I think the fact that you feel like that pleases God. You don’t take His love for granted but realise the magnificence of it. Now you just need to accept it. I’ll be praying for you sister.

  2. ProdigalDaughter says:

I have been battling depression for months, and right now it is at an all-time low, with terrible thoughts of life going through my head and my mind constantly in my past. I ask that you please pray for me, that I can forget my past and move forward. That I may release this demon of depression that is holding me back from wanting to live and enjoy the life that God has in store for me. I feel abandoned, alone, and like there is nothing good for me left in this world. Please pray over me sisters.

    1. Emily B. says:

Praying that you can tangibly feel God’s presence today and hold onto His truth. You are His beloved, and He has already won the battle for you.

    2. Kara says:

Praying for you sister. Look at the men and women God uses throughout the Bible. They were far from perfect but they were 100% His. You are His daughter and He longs to hold you close and bless you abundantly!

    3. Sarah says:

      Hey Sister,

I am so sorry for your pain. I want to let you know that you are not alone. I know what it feels like to be in the dark abyss of sadness. I know what it feels like to be alone and abandoned. Your words echoe my heart on so many levels.

I love you and more importantly, The Father loves you deeply and truly. He’s powerful love IS big enough to overcome this.

I’ll be praying for you sister.

    4. Encourager Jess says:

The Lord has cast your sins as far as the east is from the west. I pray, prodigal daughter, that you would begin to Meet with Christ and find who he is and who you are through him as a way to find your current identity. You are his daughter made perfect in his sight. I pray this all in Jesus precious name.

    5. One Who Has Been There says:

I also have been the prodigal daughter and suffered greatly for many years as you are now. I had been sexually abused starting at age 8 and it continued with worsening episodes throughout adulthood. I know the demonic stranglehold of the pain and anger and confusion of the past and how the thoughts swirl through the mind in a downward spiral ever worsening and growing darker and darker. I, too, felt abandoned and alone with no hope and no future. I have had suicidal thoughts since I was 8 years old when it first began. I clung to this verse for many years to get me through the darkness: Psalm 30 (ESV) v. 5 . . . . . . . . .
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
I knew in my innermost being that suicide was against God’s will and the He had a reason for allowing all of this. I knew that if I just made it through the “night” of dark thoughts and dark feelings then in the “morning” there would be enough renewed hope and joy to get through. Eventually as I began to know God and Who He is I learned that as John the Baptist said “I must decrease that He may increase”.(John 3:30)I learned that it is all about Him and not about me.
Praying for you dear sister. (ESV) Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”

    6. Sophie Pellegrino says:

Definitely praying for you. Whenever you get dark thoughts rebuke the devil. “Not today Satan”. Prayer is so so powerful just please continue to push on with your relationship with Christ

  3. Enna says:

Praying. May God bless, encourage, and strengthen you.

  4. Kristi says:

A few weeks ago I came across this verse and decided to dig into it, and here it is again! I wanted to share an excerpt from a devotional I found when I first looked into this verse. I reread it today and it was so encouraging.

“Luke 12:32 is a sentence about the nature of God. It’s about the kind of heart God has. It’s a verse about what makes God glad — not merely about what God will do or what he has to do, but what he delights to do, what he loves to do and takes pleasure in doing. Every word counts. ‘Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.’”

  5. EarlyBird says:

Ladies, I fervently ask that you please pray Psalm 27 over me today. Thank you and may your day be blessed.

    1. J says:

Praying for you, dear EarlyBird. May you be stilled and overcome by His presence today.

    2. Churchmouse says:

Praying right now. For peace in your circumstance. For assurance in the Word.

    3. Susan says:

Praying this over you right now. May His goodness be seen today in your life as He gives you strength and courage in your waiting on Him.

  6. Churchmouse says:

How often I need reminded not to be afraid in this world because I have the indwelling Holy Spirit, given to me by my heavenly Father who takes delight in the gifting. I’m grateful.

  7. Tricia C says:

Amen. I’m thinking of how I was the prodigal daughter. My Father opened His arms and wrapped them around me. Bringing back to the fold. Glory be! Have a wonderful Sunday Sisters!❤️

  8. Lauren Jackson says:

What a loving and caring Father that we have. Though we have done nothing to earn it, He will give us the kingdom. There is no gift as great or sweet as the grace given by the true King.
