Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.
For our study of Song of Songs we will memorize two consecutive verses from this book of the Bible. This week’s verse is a declaration of love’s endurance.
Mighty waters cannot extinguish love;
rivers cannot sweep it away.
If a man were to give all his wealth for love,
it would be utterly scorned.
—Song of Songs 8:7
Punch out the memory card for this passage in the back of your book and place it somewhere you’ll see it often. As you memorize these verses, contemplate God’s rich gift of covenant love to His people.
We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

His love sweeps over me. I am clean. I am awake. I am His.
Thank you for this study! God bless :)
LOOVVEEEEDDD this study so much!!!! So encouraging and refreshing. Of my love for my husband and my Savior!
His Love can rekindle my own. Do I need that today, thank you Churchmouse for this insight. Happy Sunday and may you all enjoy your places of worship this morning. We get the privilege of hanging out with middle schoolers. Love it! Takes my mind off my current situation and onto them! And even though service is geared toward them, “us” adults get something out of their service too.
Amen
This is a hard verse. I can immediately think of several things that can extinguish love or at least cool it considerably. Praise God that His love is always red hot and glowing for eternity. When earthly love seems to have simmered, I can trust that I am still love beyond my imagination. His Love can rekindle my own. I’m grateful for that!
His love can rekindle my own…yes! Thank you for that has been my prayer lately for a situation. ♥
This is such a beautiful perspective on this verse!!!
Exactly my prayer, that His love would repair and rekindle my love!
