The book of Proverbs is a guide for pursuing godly wisdom in our daily lives. Though written thousands of years ago, we can look to it for timeless truth about a variety of life’s circumstances, from how to interact with our friends, families, and neighbors, to fearing God and keeping His commands. No matter the subject, these proverbs urge us to wrestle with and reflect on our own response to them. To help you better engage with the proverbs in this reading plan, we have provided you with a short introduction and reflection questions for each day.
The foundational truth in Proverbs is this: to deny God is to walk in the way of a fool, but to follow in God’s ways is the heart of wisdom. Wisdom is not just the accumulation of knowledge; it is a way we walk through life, seeking to know and live out God’s truth. Folly, in the biblical sense of the word, is to hold the pursuit of truth in contempt by choosing to make our own path. A life of wisdom or folly comes from more than the individual decisions we make; it comes from how we approach the journey of life as a whole.
Reflection Questions:
Based on today’s verses, what are the goals of growing in wisdom?
Based on Proverbs 9, what are some of the key markers of wisdom?
What do you hope God will do in you through this month of studying His wisdom?

Amen
I pray God will open my eyes to his wisdom and knowledge this month. I pray I get more quite time to hear Him more closely. Amen.
Ironically I am teaching this exact story and verses in my Sunday School class and it is so wonderful. This brings me so much peace in knowing there is no expectation of being perfect but to learn and to listen. As we make decisions daily, lean on God through prayer and staying hungry for His word so that we may stay grounded and grow wiser through Him. When we pass, nothing we physically have will go with us. They are just things but our love and knowledge of Jesus will and that is truly what matters.

Amen

Hi, I’m new here. Are these plans free or do you have to pay for them? I just purchased that. She reached truth Bible and like it so far.
Hi April! We’re so glad you’re here. Plans can be purchased on the She Reads Truth app individually or a monthly app subscription will provide access to them all. You are also able to read along for free on our website. And last but not least, our Reading Guides can be purchased in physical or digital format at ShopSheReadsTruth.com. Some of the features for each Reading Guide may include journaling space, reflection and discussion questions, recipes, crafts, and educational elements to help you engage with and understand more deeply what you are reading.
The SRT and HRT apps, on the other hand, will not include these extras and special features as we are limited by the space we have on these platforms. Rather, the app’s features, which do include the same exact scripture found in the Daily Reading Guides also include a comment section at the end of each day’s reading to engage with our online community and a devotional thought from a contributing writer for each day. Because the app includes much less than the Daily Reading Guides, the price point is much lower. The website also includes the Scripture, comment section and devotional.
Hope this helps! :)
I’m pretty new too but I think you pay for each plan. I could be wrong though
In all honesty for months now I have spoke to my husband that I had a pull within me to return back to church. I had this pull in my heart to go and listen to his words. Even though God is with me everywhere everyday this pull has just been there. Then this week I have seen and heard and read so much hatred in this world. Starting today I am beginning my journey to return my focus to my lord and savior.
I love this
So am I, don’t give up!
I want to not only be stronger in my walk with the Lord and allow him to guide me I want sharpen the armor of God ! I feel like we are living in the devil playground and I will not be participating. This spiritual warfare is here and I want to be always ready.
With all that’s happening in the world, i’m praying to grow in faith and let God lead the way. To turn to Him and build that connection to be stronger than ever.
Starting today. Let my faith grow and my connection to the lord be stronger than ever.
I’m praying to grow in my faith and rely on God to be in charge of my life, since his way is so much better than mine.
I’m praying to grow in Godly wisdom and rely on Him to lead my days. I struggle with feeling discouraged and defeated and realize I’m leaning more on self than Jesus.
Starting today. The world has been heavy on my heart and I need to turn to God.
My neighborhood Bible study is on proverbs and I’d love to continue to glean wisdom and a deeper understanding of all that Proverbs offers. That the Lord will continue the work that needs to be done in my life.
I struggle with thinking that my way is best or I can “fix” something. I’m praying for wisdom to remember and act out that God is the only one in control, not me.
Thank you God for giving me the desire to start this new devotional. I have been struggling to stay consistent in the word and understanding/ absorbing the message. I know you have plans for me. Thank you for sending the holy spitit on me tonight. Amen❤️
Praying to return my focus to the wisdom of the lord and to not be deceived that my way is better than the all knowing God.

I am praying for wisdom in this new chapter of life and to continually look for Gods wisdom and not my own.

I pray to receive wisdom for my health and future children, for my husband and our next steps
I pray to recieve wisdom and knowledge during this time of my life and for my family and others.
My reflection is that I need to desperately pursue His wisdom and knowledge more than anything else of this world. Scripture describe
I am praying for wisdoms, clear direction and understanding so that I can live for God. Right now I’m struggling with what it means to live FOR God vs just living the day to day as a wife, mother, Christian, friend, sibling, employee, etc. What does it mean to live a life for God…
I am praying for Abba to return my focus to His wisdom rather than the state of the world. To find renewed strength. To give my energy to the life-Giver above all else.
I’m praying that I stay consistent with reading the Bible and finishing this plan and receiving wisdom from God and apply it

I Pray to know God better. To gain wisdom to help in my relationships and to better walk in integrity and not folly.
Praying for God to give me the wisdom and discernment to be a better mother and to watch my tongue and to speak life into my children and marriage as well
Amen! Me too!
I’m ready for a new beginning, a chance to use his wisdom and not my own.
Praying for renewing of my mind and heart.
In proverbs 9:1 “she has carved out her seven pillars” what is the meaning of seven pillars or what are the seven pillars?
The number 7 often refers to something being complete. It could mean the house is solid on a firm foundation.
From my understanding, the number seven is seen as a holy number, symbolizing wholeness and divine order. In this context it would suggest that Wisdom’s house is stable and built in alignment with God and His almighty plan.
My question too
When I looked it up:: Another perspective connects the pillars to the heavenly wisdom described in James, which is pure, peace-loving, gentle, considerate, full of mercy, impartial, and sincere.
I pray that as I start my journey back to god and through these readings that I am able to grow closer to him and become the best version of my self by learning how to live a god driven life
My hope is that through this study, he can renew a right spirit within me. By seeking Him and His wisdom, I will be made new in Him.
Amen, me too!! Have a Blessed Day
♥️♥️♥️
Ask for discernment but be willing to listen. Listen for the wisdom and seek Him above all
Im coming back to him after many years and im just hoping to readjust myself
I pray my confidence and trust in the Lord grows and my anxieties and worries dissipate.
Wow what a blessing!
My hope is that I can receive a holy confidence for wisdom in Him FIRST instead of first from family. He above all is the source and root of all wisdom
My hope is that I will become a wise, godly woman, following the Lord and not the world.

Beautiful thank you x
Reading these comments are SO helpful to me! I still learning how I should be intentional with prayer and sometimes I just don’t know what to do.
Father,
–
Thank You.
–
Thank You that I don’t have to figure everything out on my own.
–
Thank You that I can trust You to lead me in the way of wisdom—step by step, moment by moment.
You see every path ahead of me, even the ones I can’t yet understand.
–
And in that, I rest.
–
I’m grateful that You invite me to walk with You—not with fear or confusion, but with clarity and peace.
–
Your wisdom is steady and good. It doesn’t shift with circumstances or emotions. It holds firm when everything else feels uncertain.
–
Thank You for building something strong and true—like Wisdom’s house with its seven pillars.
–
I want to dwell there. I want to stay close to Your voice, to feast on what You’ve prepared for me:
-truth, insight, and life.
–
Thank You that You guard my steps when I walk in Your ways.
–
Even when I’m unsure or feel weak, You are not.
You guide me gently, and You correct me in love.
Your wisdom doesn’t just inform me—it transforms me.
–
Keep me teachable, Lord.
–
Keep my heart open to Your voice and resistant to the noise of folly.
–
Help me choose what is right, even when it’s hard—because I trust that Your way leads to life.
–
I’m grateful that You don’t just offer wisdom, but You offer Yourself—and that’s the greatest gift.
I walk forward with confidence—not in my own wisdom, but in Yours.
–
Thank You for being faithful, patient, and good.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

What a beautiful prayer. Thank you Kimberly!❤️❤️

I have been away from SRT and my Bible for too long and am excited to be returning with this study of Proverbs. I pray for continued dedication to set aside time daily for this study to help bring clarity and greater understanding of my relationship with God. My hope is that through God I can be the best version of me.
I pray for a daily opportunities to use/need discernment. So that I can be more confident in knowing when I’m hearing from god and using the wisdom he provides me.
❤️
I love Proverbs. Over the years, quite a few times I have added the daily reading of Proverbs for a month to my quiet time – 31 chapters = 1 chapter a day. True wisdom is a great understanding and seeking the Lord. Its understanding His heart and His ways. Its insight, understanding and direction that follows along the path He has for us and letting that lead my steps.
Looking forward to growing in that as we study together. I pray for a soft, willing, open- handed, humble teachable heart as He reveals all He has for me. Welcome to the new sisters joining us:)
I did it that way last year, Wendy! (I am doing the Book of Psalms currently.) And I got my “The Bible Is for You” yesterday. I went right to Proverbs, and the devotion showed us how we can see things so differently from different angles… so true!
I pray to gain wisdom through the lens of God. I would like to learn more & get closer to God so that I may find guidance through my everyday life.
The past 60 days or so, I have struggled with letting God lead my life. I haven’t wanted to fully give up control. I have continued to pray that God helps me let go, and I hope this month of reading, reflecting, learning leads me to true wisdom. To really grow in wisdom, we must first fear the Lord. His way is better. His way is true.
Lord God please give me guidance through everything right now. I pray for decisions, peace, the fruit of the spirit and spiritual deferment. Protect me my child my husband my family. My friends. Guide me Jesus please make the path clear and be with us through it all.
My first group study here, looking forward to spending time with the Lord and all of you. Major goal is gaining wisdom, discernment, and closeness/consistency in my walk.
Welcome Morgan! ❤️
Welcome:)
She Reads Truth is good! This is my first reading guide that I’ve gotten, and I ordered it late. I was totally expecting to be a couple days behind on the Proverbs study, but it got to me today. So I was able to start with everyone else! Wowzers… that is so impressive. Thank you so much
This is going to be a good book to read, especially now being married. Wisdom comes into play
A fairly regular reader for a little while now, I feel challenged to post more this month (though I worry that my comments will get missed since I often end up doing my reading later in the day – due to work schedules/kids schedules, etc) Though my reflections don’t perfectly match up with the question prompts there were two things that stood out to me today
– Wisdom is attainable IF we pursue it – Proverbs 2:3-5 encourage us to “seek it”/“cry out for insight”/“raise your voice for understanding”/“seek it”/“search for it” – we aren’t likely to stumble across wisdom/become wise by chance – we need to do our part and be intentional about seeking it out. This immediately drew to mind Jeremiah 29:13 – “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” – what a comfort!
– Wisdom requires an openness to correction – Proverbs 9:8 in particular stands out to me here, “A scoffer who is rebuked will only hate you; the wise when rebuked will love” – oof it is hard sometimes to be corrected and yet I pray as I grow in wisdom I may in turn reflect the humble heart described here
❤
Thank you for sharing. Appreciate your thoughts ❤️
I read comments again in the evening, so I don’t miss as much, Lauren. Your comments and your thoughts will help you too. Always remember that. ❤️
❤️
I want to focus this next month on letting God guide and increase my discretion. Unfortunately I often find myself mistaking “good” for Godly. I’m entering a season of change and not only do I need God to walk with me but I want this month to practice actively promoting his will and I think that’s a big marker of wisdom.
My goals for this next month are growing in my understanding and knowledge. Letting go of what is out of my control and giving it to god, knowing that this wisdom is what will carry me through. I’m really hoping to reflect intrinsically throughout this study and grow my faith in god. I would also like to share this with my family and grow their opportunities to embrace their faith.
1. Today’s passages reminded me that the goal of wisdom isn’t just being smart, it’s about knowing God, living in His ways, and finding life in Him. Wisdom protects me, steers me away from folly, and helps me walk in God’s favor and peace.
2. Proverbs 9 shows that wisdom is marked by reverence for God, humility, and a life that blesses others. Wisdom welcomes correction, gives life, and leads to lasting fruit, while folly only leads to ruin.
3. This month, I hope God grows in me a deeper love for His ways, humility to receive correction, and courage to live wisely. More than just knowledge, I want His wisdom to draw me closer to Him and shape how I live each day.
Amen! Never thought of the goal of wisdom being to know God. This perspective changes everything. Thank you for sharing ❤️
This is my 1st study in a group. My husband and I are both new to being Christians. I have so much to learn. I did not grow up in Church, so it is all very new to me. So far, I feel like Proverbs is exactly where I need to be. I am actively seeking out wisdom and knowledge daily. Answers to the reflection questions:
1) The goal would to get closer to the Lord, to follow his ways and teachings, to have more understanding, and to be aware of, and able to fight off, the wicked and perverted.
2) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Then knowledge of the Holy One is another. Being wise for yourself that you may fight of temptations, and stay in his commands.
3) I hope to gain more knowledge of the Bible, and how God expects me to live my life. I hope this knowledge will make me a better human being, a better Christian, a better mom, and a better wife.
Oh Nichole, Hallelujah!! Welcome to the family sister!! You will love the study (they are always good) and you will love the She’s and their comments! Great answers!
Always fun to meet another sister! Welcome, Nichole! ❤
Welcome! What a cool step to start a plan like this. I pray that it is fruitful for you and that it draws you closer to the Lord.
Welcome to the family of God, dear Nichole, and welcome to SRT! This is a great place for you to start growing in the Lord! ❤️
Reflection Questions:
Based on today’s verses, what are the goals of growing in wisdom?
Understanding, treasuring up the commandments, following God and His word, don’t be foolish by trying to create your own path away from righteousness.
Based on Proverbs 9, what are some of the key markers of wisdom?
Fearing the Lord
What do you hope God will do in you through this month of studying His wisdom?
Gain more insight in the His word.
I am struggling with my faith right now due to life circumstances. I’ve never been in this place before, and I’m doing everything I can to hang on to God. This is the beginning of fearing God and the first step in this wisdom journey. My goal this month is to cleave.
Draw close to him and he will draw close to you. Thanks for your honesty. I am believing this study will fill your cup again.
So very sorry to hear that. I’ve been there before, and Rhonda is 100% right about drawing close to Him. He is faithful. If it feels hard to have faith right now, try reflecting on the ways He has been faithful in the past. He is good, sovereign, and eternal. He is with you even if you don’t really feel it or see it right now. Thank you for being vulnerable with that. I will be praying for you!
My Goal is to grow in my walk with the Lord and gain better discipline, discernment and wisdom. I’m newly married and feel like this fits perfectly in to my new era of life – to gain wisdom and get closer to the Lord in this time of change.
Good for you! Marriage is hard, but with Him in the center you will withstand everything!!
Answers to the reflection
1. To get closer to God. To know His heart and what He asks of me. To fall in according to His commands.
2. Wisdom gives life, nourishment, insight. Accountability, brining blessings.
3. Grow and transform my heart. May it reflect His ways. May it helps me guide my decisions, walk in peace and purpose
I love what CeeCee said about working diligently to gain a paycheck and working diligently to gain knowledge and wisdom in God’s Word, which is better than gold and silver. The verse that stood out to me today was Proverbs 16:16 from the “See Also” in the book: “Get wisdom — how much better it is than gold! And get understanding — it is preferable to silver.” Some of my thoughts from the questions:
1. Growing in wisdom gives us the foundation for life. It teaches us how to walk in the way of The Lord.
2. Key markers of wisdom include pursuing understanding. Being able to accept criticism and instruction; learning from mistakes. Fearing the Lord.
3. What I hope God will do in me through this study – help me to be able to listen to God’s wisdom and apply it to my life. I want to be able to listen and apply the whisperings of The Holy Spirit.
One of the things mentioned in the book was the importance of spending time with individual Proverbs rather than the quantity of many Proverbs. I want to take the time to settle on a Proverb that especially catches my attention, and truly hear what God is saying to me in that Proverb. I want to hear how He wants me to apply it in my life and my walk with Him.
❤ Wiersbe gets the credit for that example, Teresa, but it’s good to see that it resonated with several SHES ❤
How is Amanda doing?
I pray that during this month of studying proverbs, I would grow in the wisdom of the Lord. I want to follow after Hod wisdom instead of the world’s wisdom. His wisdom is where true life is.
You have been here reading diligently for at least a year or two, you are wise Jennifer!
❤️
Ooh a new study! How exciting. Some deep things that really stood out to me today and I am sharing my notes:
.
1- “Wisdom has built her house, hewn her seven pillars” Proverbs 9:1. Though the Bible did not say what those seven pillars are, in the letter of James, practical wisdom describes as: Pure, Peace-loving, Gentle, Open to reason, Full of mercy and good fruits, Impartial, Sincere.
.
2- “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here” Proverbs 9:4. Being simple minded means foolishness in the Bible. Ouch. A simple person is someone who is naïve, undiscerning, careless, lacking sense, who doesn’t think deeply about life or God, but just goes along with whatever seems easy or attractive in the moment, unanchored, uncommitted, they drift along without anchoring themselves in God’s truth, and heading for danger (Proverbs 22:3 says, “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it”). Being “simple” may sound harmless, like being easy-going or not overthinking. In the Bible, this is spiritually dangerous. God doesn’t call His children to thoughtless drifting. He calls us to seek wisdom, to grow in discernment, and to train our minds to test everything by His Word.
.
3- “But he who fails to find me (wisdom) injures himself; all who hate me love death” Proverbs 8:36. We cannot treat God’s wisdom as it’s optional. We cannot afford to die a foolish death. Neglecting wisdom is not neutral, it is inflicting self injury. To turn away from God’s counsel is to open the door to injury and even death. Salvation is the entry point. Don’t just stop there, open the Word of God and step into the rich house of Wisdom that God has prepared. Treasure up His commandments, or else we might make choices based on impulse, pride, or culture, and then wonder why injury, regret, or brokenness are the results. Wisdom is not optional. It is protection. Walk with Christ daily, learn His ways, and let His wisdom guard you from a foolish and wasted life. My extra research- borrowing from the Pilgrim’s Progress book and and his brilliant illustrations, the disguised foolish snares designed to take out a Christian include: Family Rejection (Christian’s wife and four kids refuse to go with him), Slough of Despond (weight of guilt and fear), Mr. Worldly Wiseman’s Counsel (advice to seek morality and good works instead of faith in Jesus), Vanity Fair (pleasures, riches, distractions, entertainment), By-Path Meadow (shortcuts to avoid hardship, just to be captured later by Giant Despair in Doubting Castle), Ignorance (who travels along Christian but never enters the gate, trusts in his own “good heart”), the Flatterer (false teacher), etc. Bunyan’s book reminds us that snares come in many forms, despair, false teaching, worldly pleasures, and even the painful rejection of loved ones. Without the wisdom of God, how can we discern what is what? The narrow road of Christ is the only safe road. And the book of Life is the road map. Travel on pilgrims. Arm yourselves with godly wisdom so you may test every spirit, and be faithful in treasuring up wisdom fervently. Be blessed dear sisters.
I want to grow closer to the Lord and live a Godly lifestyle through wisdom and discretion
I want to grow in my love for the word. I want to walk In the path of Godly wisdom and discernment.
My goal, like many others, is to grow in my walk with the Lord through preparation, study, prayer, worship. Seeking the relationship with Him not just in a time of need, but rather daily. Becoming more of a light to others.
A little late in the day for me, but – I’m here!
—
My goal and my hope for this study (combining question 1&2) is to grow in God’s wisdom in such a way that I can impart it to others. And also that I would be able to grasp what God has laid out for me in His Word – That I would turn my ear, call out for insight, and look for it as I would a hidden treasure. (Proverbs 2:1-5)…because the wisdom of God is much more valuable and vital!
—
Glad to be going through this study with you all sweet She’s! Have a blessed day. ❤️
Based on today’s verses, what are the goals of growing in wisdom?
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
.
Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.
–
Based on Proverbs 9, what are some of the key markers of wisdom?
10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
.
Discernment in sifting godly correction/instruction from sneaky imitations meant to eventually draw you away from God, rather than strengthening your understanding of Him and closeness to Him.
–
What do you hope God will do in you through this month of studying His wisdom?
.
Teach me to be more aware of deceit and misdirection, and to more readily seek His word …. Just a closer walk with Thee…let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
–
INDIANA ELAINE – great question!
MARI V – restful nights and guidance as you visit churches
RHONDA J smiling as I read your words from yesterday, “A God who has given us instruction to walk with him and to persevere. We have him and the word to guide us and to be written on our heart, that otherwise leads us astray.” And here we are today, delving into the wisdom and guidance of Proverbs.

❤ thanks for sharing the Isaiah verse! ❤
❤️
Ah, yes! (heart!)It’s amazing how the words flow out after being in the Bible daily and close to him! It is indeed written in my heart and I hope and pray I never go astray! I am loving Proverbs already, it’s been awhile!!
My answers to Reflection Questions:
1. Fear of the Lord, protection from evil, righteousness, the Lord’s favor
2. Preparation, living on the highest points so all can see her when look up and seek the path, and for he to be able to watch her steps as she looks down, fear of the Lord, and full life
3. To adjust my heart posture so I may gain wisdom and grow closer to God and further from the sin I keep falling to.
I want to grow in wisdom to be able to be an encouragement to others.
❤️
There are 31 Proverbs. Last year, I read one every day (to coincide, mostly, with a month). I caught something new about every time. (Each Proverb was read 12x last year.)
This really caught my attention this morning. Proverbs 8:36… “but he who fails to find me injures himself;”
.
Don’t be injured, sweet she’s! Find Him!
I did answer the questions in my study book, but I might as well share my responses here.
1. Time and patience
2. It starts with a fear of the lord
3. Teach me how to be a better person
Wisdom and Folly both send out invitations. Both call to the “simple” and the “unsure,” but the results of saying yes could not be more different. Wisdom builds, prepares, and offers a feast that leads to life. Folly offers stolen pleasures that end in destruction.
Each day, we stand at the crossroads of two invitations: one from Wisdom, one from Folly. Wisdom may require humility, discipline, and surrender to God, but it is the way of life and joy. Folly may look appealing in the moment, but it always costs more than it gives.
The goal of wisdom is to align our lives with God’s truth so that we walk in life, maturity, blessing, and godliness—for our good and for His glory.
Great summary, Ashley! Thank you! ❤
❤️ The crossroads analogy speaks to me. Thanks Ashley. I’m a map person. Lord may I follow your map (wisdom) to get me where I need to be.
Yes. We often stress how everything is about choices, and bad choices lead to destruction- sometimes immediately and sometimes slower.
You said that so well. Thank you
❤️ “both send out invitations”
Excellent summary, Ashley. ❤️
To grow in wisdom inorder to grow closer to God. I am looking to foward to growing together.
❤
I, along with many of you sweet She’s here hope to gain wisdom, insight, better understanding of the WORD, “together” Boy…do I need it! I’m not the smartest person at times and could gain more wisdom through this reading and insights from all of you sweet godly women! I need to get up earlier! This back to work is harder this time around. I’ll get there. I know I will.
❤
I think that as we grow in the wisdom of God we will grow in a more intimate reverential respectful fear of God.
I desire to grow in wisdom and a better understanding of God’s plan and path for B my life. I believe as I do this I will have a better understanding of how I can relate to those around me and love them better. It will help me understand how to a live a life that is pleasing to God. It will guide me to live a life of integrity and favor from God!
Praying for all. Blessings on your day!
I think you hit the nail squarely on the head, Cheryl! ❤
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
For the LORD gives wisdom.
Spiritual Wisdom is a byproduct of choosing to live in step with God. Choosing HIS ways. HIS truth.
My ultimate goal in this study is live in peaceful confidence of HIS presence regardless of the circumstances I may encounter.
This is my first SRT Bible study. I am seeking to begin reading my Bible regularly and to know God more intimately. To seek wisdom from Proverbs is to seek his guidance for my life to me. “Blessed is the man that heareth me” “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” are two of the things I highlighted as standing out to me. I like that I can also read from the app and go home and get in more detail with my Bible and Study Book for further notes. It will be interesting to see others thoughts. Looking forward to this daily journey.
Welcome!
Welcome Virginia. This is a wonderful group of Sisters to be in God’s truth with.
Welcome Virginia!!! ❤
Welcome to the She’s!
What a perfect study to begin She Reads Truth – many blessings!
Welcome Virginia!
For me this was truly the turning point of staying in God’s word everyday. Just because I did not have to figure out where to read on my own:) I have an in-person study group and of course whatever we are doing at church, but when the in-person group breaks for the summer or we’re doing topical stuff at church, this is the place I can turn to each and everyday to read God’s word. The wisdom and encouragement in this chat group is an added perk and don’t miss the weekly podcasts.
Can’t say enough out the SRT ministry!!
Welcome Virginia! You will not be disappointed, and the connection to other SRT sisters here & their prayer warrior’s hearts are a true source of comfort, encouragement and belonging!
SHARON JERSEY GIRL summed up my thoughts perfectly! Welcome!!
❤✝️
I pray Proverbs begins to teach me the wisdom of the Lord. I want to pursue His way and not mine in all things
Gm She’s!
You’re not going to believe it, but I don’t have anything to add!! lol! After reading your comments I heard great reflections and WISDOM from ya’ll!!
I can say (of course, here I go..)
That my Madre had great wisdom, and after she passed in 2014 that is when I reflected on her character and saw the vision of her reading her Bible every morning in the light of the morning, as I would wake and able to see her. She loved reading the word and sharing it! She was my Proverbs woman example! And luckily, I have had many, many Proverbs women in my life to guide me and correct me, and have fear of the Lord!! And my calling seems to be to share with my younger butterflies and ladies at church!! That is what we should do! For what good is it to hold on to and not share! Yes, by your example is great, but also to have good conversation to encourage them and reproof their actions.
I had a butterfly at church yesterday and great conversation afterwards and the day before!! Oh, how it warms my heart with overflowing joy!! She is like a niece that I want to thrive in the Lord, but she listens without rolling her eyes!! (at least on the outside!!)
So, I guess I had things to say, of course. Love ya’ll.
I’m usually not a fan of the studies with questions and no Devo, but this one might add both?!
❤❤❤
You always share such sweet things :)
I pray this study would increase our understanding of God and His infinite wisdom! I hope through this study, I will be able to better understand God’s wisdom & guidance as I enter into this next season of my life where I am remaining away from “home”, searching for a new job, and trying my best to draw near to God. May the doubts and anxieties in my mind be silenced as I draw wisdom from Our Creator!
I will be praying for you. I’m in same situation.
Excited for this study in proverbs. Praying wisdom would become an automatic response in my life.
Chapter 9 shows us that wisdom thinks ahead, plans and prepares, enlist others to help and her invitation to come is known. She is skilled in marketing and speaks truth.
Goals of gaining wisdom:
-Understand the fear of the Lord
-Find the knowledge of God
-Understanding what is right, just, and fair
Markers of Wisdom:
-Wisdom is laid as the foundation
-Understanding when to speak and when to listen
-Discernment: wisdom appeals to the mind while folly appeals to the senses
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Give me humility so that I can see things as they are, not how I perceive them to be. Increase wisdom as I walk through a difficult season of parenting my two teens-one who is defiant and one struggling with depression and thoughts of self harm.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing!
Prayers for you as you mother two teens! It has to be such a challenge in today’s world! My one is 25 and seem to be right ahead of the social media world and all it brings.
I will keep your 2 teens in prayer. That God would put a protective hedge around them and your whole family.
❤ Joining in praying for you and your teens! ❤
Kelly, I pray for your teens, and you as you parents them. May God’s wisdom guide you as you guide them. And may each of them find peace and protection in Him.
grow closer to God. Be able to learn bc I’m not the smartest in the room. Help prepare myself for motherhood
Lol, not the smartest in the room. My mom used to tell me- well you may not be smart smart like you older brother and sister (my grades were certainly not!), but you have common sense they do not! lol! I always took that as meaning a compliant! That I would make it in the world! My madre had much wisdom!
I’m excited to start this months bible study. Lord help me to be more of you and less of me….. I’ve failed short and slipped away from study for a few months. What a great book to come back too!!
Yes, Welcome if you are new or welcome back!
Welcome back!
Jesus, in Matthew 22: 1-14 riffs on this invitation of Proverbs 9.He spins it as a wedding banquet but people refuse the invitation to come. There are examples of Jesus issuing an invitation in the NT that reminds me of Proverbs 9.Jesus ,Wisdom in the flesh, called out to the masses,”If anyone thrist, let him come to me and drink, John 7:37.
Goals of growing in wisdom:
Choosing Jesus’s way and not my own.
Avoiding evil and perverse situations.
Pleasing G-d.
Choosing abundant life not death.
Walking in the light of Christ.
Building my house on the rock not sinking sand.
Key markers of Wisdom based on Proverbs 9:
Reverential respect for God.
I hope God will make me more of a doer than hearer of the Word.
I want to spend more time listening to His voice and being able to hear God and not “me”.
I want this study to help me seek correction, learning and righteousness. Also to teach me how to live with integrity and be upright.
Proverbs 9 shows me that wisdom is; being prepared, accepting help, desiring to learn, fearing the LORD, and continuing on the straight path.
I hope God will increase my wisdom of Him and how He wants me to live.
Help me Father God to seek and find Your Wisdom first always. In Jesus name, Amen
I want your wisdom, knowledge, understanding, insight, and discernment, Lord. I want to walk by Your Holy Spirit and in Your ways, in love.
I want to lead with Your wisdom, with Your heart!
Lord help me to always desire to and work to walk in wisdom so I may increase my knowledge and insight of You and your love for me. Help me to always be open to guidance from others who are on the same path as me and to walk in your ways. Strengthen and guide me during this study and always – Amen!
Prayer request please – my mom is being assessed today as a first step to transitioning to a facility. Praying all goes well and hopefully she can begin in the assisted living, as the doctors feel socialization may slow her decline actually improve her condition. Thank you!
I will pray for your mom
Praying for you and your mom as you go about this hard transition and all it brings.
Praying for you mom, that she can begin assisted living soon and will transition well to her new facility when the time comes.
Praying ❤️
Wisdom is more valuable then gold,it keeps you from sin. But the way to Wisdom is staying in God’s word.
To be wise in the Lord, not wise of our own accord. God, please help me to listen to your word and be knowledgable. To follow your ways and not my own.
Based on today’s verses, what are the goals of growing in wisdom?
-understand the fear of the Lord
-find the knowledge of God
Based on Proverbs 9, what are some of the key markers of wisdom?
-accept and learn from instruction
-fear the Lord
What do you hope God will do in you through this month of studying His wisdom?
– Grow in wisdom and the fear of the Lord
-examine my heart and life for areas in which I need to grow in wisdom or change my current path, which may not be walking in the fear of the Lord.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge
Chapter 2:7,8-
From Wiersbe study notes:
“If we do our part, God will keep His promise and protect us from the enemy: “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Ps. 119:11).
People are willing to work diligently in their jobs because they know they’ll earn a paycheck, but what about applying themselves diligently to God’s Word in order to gain spiritual riches that are more valuable than gold and silver and jewels, riches that will last forever? (See Prov. 2:4; 3:13–15; 8:10–21; 16:16.)
Gaining spiritual wisdom has a price, but not gaining it costs much more. We must walk with God through the study of His Word.”
Key markers of wisdom:
Accept invitation
Seek wisdom
Hear the Word
Obey the Word
Accept reproof
Grow in knowledge of God and His Word and ways
Righteous living
.
Chapter 9-From Wiersbe’s study notes:
“When we respond to Wisdom’s invitation and attend the feast, what will we receive? For one thing, we’ll have a greater respect for the Lord and a deeper knowledge of the Holy One (v. 10). The better we know God, the keener will be our knowledge and discernment when making life decisions.
Once again, Wisdom promises to give long life (v. 11) and to fill our days and years with rich experiences of God’s grace. God wants to add years to our lives and life to our years, and He will do it if we obey His wisdom.”
.
Through this study I hope to hear and respond to God in a way that is pleasing to Him.
.
Thank you, SRT!
.

❤️
#wisdom goals:

deliverance from the way of evil
life and favor from the Lord
.
Key markers of wisdom:
Fearing the Lord and knowing Him
.
I’m hoping to increase my understanding of the “how to” of walking in God’s ways.
.

I hope I will be taught wisdom and learn more about the ways of the Lord.
Good morning Ladies!
Happy Monday and how excited are we to start a brand new study!! It’s so interesting, all three platforms that I have for Bible Study are going through Proverbs this fall.
I’m hoping by the end of the next few months to be well steeped in God’s way – for decisions, for responses and for protection from evil!
Wow, then you should really ‘get it!” lol! That is neat when God aligns studies. Yesterday, the music at our church, the prayer from our “greeting Pastor” and then the message all aligned perfectly planned. Then the pastor said they do not plan and talk about what to say/play.
