The Third Sunday of Advent

Open Your Bible

Psalm 2:7

For the remainder of this reading plan, we will spend the Sundays before and after Christmas lingering in the longing, waiting, and expectation of the season by reading a short passage from Scripture.

I will declare the LORD’s decree.
He said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.”
—Psalm 2:7

I definitely feel the enemy attacking more so this season as I have tried to be more focused in on rest and reflection this Advent season. Grateful that God reminded me today to rest in His promise and to choose time with Him over the temporary rest of the world.

@Laine H. I totally understand what you’re saying! I am in the same boat all the way out in Montana! Making good friends is like dating! Haha it’s HARD! @Traci Gendron praying for you during this holiday season! Loved what you had to say about @Dorothy because it is so true.

  21. Tricia Cavanaugh says:

I am so grateful for rest. I don’t get much if it these days, but this evening I am sitting by the Christmas tree, with the Labradors lying all around, and husband sitting in his chair. Enjoying some time with the Lord and reading all of your requests and comments. I’m bringing you all before the Lord now.
Thank you Lord for peace and rest during this Advent season. Time to reflect on all you have done for me. How, even in my time of hurt, You are right there to comfort me and to bring others to comfort me. I’m so grateful.

  22. Tricia Cavanaugh says:

Kelly (NEO) thank you for making a list of the current requests. And thank you for having my children on there. They need the Lord desperately, as do my grandchildren. I’ve shared the Lord. Now we pray. Thank you.

  23. Laura Moore says:

❤️ grateful today for the concept of “peace” and “rest” especially; praise God for sending the most precious gift in His Son so we can experience that glorious rest and peace that is complete only in Him.

    Good afternoon, my sweet She’s❣️
I have been behind but caught up with readings today.
There were SO many comments on Friday (e.g. @ CHURCHMOUSE, @KENYA, @KIRSTEN) that were EXACTLY what I need.

Please pray for me, a (thank Jesus) naturally joyous, grateful person…it is hard when important people in my life are Eeyore or Grumpy or unreasonable so often… navigating that…having it not suck my energy or break me when, in response (and out of “respect” for my Grump) I need to do things that disappoint / inconvenience / hurt / baffle / etc… other people I care about.

I am praying for all the requests I have read. I can relate to the tone of @ MICHELLE PATIRE on Friday in that I’m asking for something that no longer feels like a acute issue…it seems to be a loooong season. Please pray for my continued joy and my faithfulness to what Jesus asks me to do…may I hear Him clearly amongst the static.

Sisters be blessed and praise the Lord and Christ this Sunday and everyday.

  30. Mari says:

Father GOD, thank you for giving us you ONLY SON, so that we may have Eternal life! I, too along with everyone here am SO grateful for this community of BEAUTIFUL sisters! I can’t wait to meet you all someday! I’m about to study for my last Exam. And later today start studying for my FINAL which is already open (live), but I have until Friday the 16th to take it. I’m taking advantage of that time to study this week. Please pray I will do well.

One last thing! God continues to provide. We received something unexpected in the mail that will help take some load off financially. JEHOVA JIREH!! MY PROVIDER!

  31. Michelle Patire says:

@Lanie H- I live in PA! But God bless us both and help us to make the effort daily to be present to the people around us. Thank you for your empathy <3 I think joining a Bible study would be really beneficial for you. I have a group here, in PA. The girls in it are so kind. We're not the "best" of friends but they definitely are prayer partners and support in times of desperation :) I hope you find a community where you are planted!! And may we wait patiently on the Lord for those special friendships and hopefully relationship one day :)

    Happy Sunday girls!!

  33. Traci Gendron says:

DOROTHY – Last year we bought Tanner a new tree. He never got to see it. My nephew and I put it up at Tanner’s house. This year I put it up in our lower level. I decorated it with his ornaments. They all tell a story. I’m asking for an ornament that reminds that person of Tanner. I rejoice that Tanner is with God. He is healed! I still have moments and believe I will forever where the tears start to come. Like going into the grocery store! That needs to stop. I was buying all his food during the pandemic. But I remember how sick he became and that he now is at peace. And that brings me peace. Love to you!

  34. Alexandra Fritzler says:

  36. Churchmouse says:

Advent is such a blessing as it slows the season down and prioritizes my focus on Jesus. I’m grateful for the SRT staff in providing the study and also to everyone in the SRT community who shares their thoughts, insights, concerns and prayer requests. If they were all wrapped as Christmas packages, they’d never fit under the tree! Too numerous to count. Too precious for words.

Let us join with David and proclaim the words of Psalm 9

“1 I will thank the Lord with all my heart; I will declare all your wondrous works.

2 I will rejoice and boast about you; I will sing about your name, Most High.

9 The Lord is a refuge for the persecuted, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, Lord.

11 Sing to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; proclaim his deeds among the nations.”

    Enjoy this Lord’s Day

  49. Susan Lincks says:

I am the daughter of God and so happy about that.
