The First of New Creation

Open Your Bible

John 20:1-18, 1 Corinthians 15:1-26, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Peter 1:3, Psalm 71:20

In light of the day’s reading, pause to reflect on the specific areas you long to see made new and how Jesus’s ministry calls us to join in that restoration. Let these shape your prayers today.

Scripture tells us that Jesus died and was resurrected. But it also teaches that this is just the beginning. Jesus is the first of what God is doing for the rest of creation, bringing what is dead to new life.

After you’ve read, spend some time in prayer about what it means for us to be raised to life because Jesus was raised first. Comment/share with the community anything that stood out to you or encouraged you from the reading or your time in prayer.

Idk about ya’ll but I am so excited for my glorious heavenly ‘body’ .. I’ve had nothing but problems with this rickety ol’ worldly bag of bones I was born into lol

My former self has passed away and I have new life in Christ. Thank you God for not giving up on me

I am praying to take away all sort of bitterness , fists of anger away from being . I lay it at His feet , Heavenly Father please deliver me , you have done it in other aspects of my life . Please do it in this area . I am ashamed of it . I feel it would destroy my reputation, and hurt the people I love. I lay it down , May experience grace and healing in this area too .

  6. Dom Taylor says:

Jesus brings what once was dead back to life!

  7. maddie moore says:

Something that stood out to me today was Mary immediately recognizing Jesus when he said her name. Such an intimate moment and reminds me that Jesus knows me by name and is a gentle and loving Savior.

  8. Alayna P. says:

God is not just fixing individuals but the whole world. When Jesus died and rose again, it kickstarted a process of making everything new. It’s not just about personal redemption; it’s about transforming the entire creation into something beautiful and glorious. This highlights how much Jesus’ actions impact not only people but the entire universe.

  9. Kim U. says:

I love how on the podcast they mentioned that “revive us again” implies at least 3 times..the first time that we were like dead in our spirit then brought to life and then died again and then revived and the like dead again and then asking to be revived again…I feel like that’s such a good picture of how intimately involved we need God in our lives as we walk through really hard things and places and times in our relationship with Him and yet He will revive use even again, and again, and on and on..Everytime! ❤️ He is faithful. I’m so grateful that our God is like that! Ready willing and able ❤️

  10. Lita Solis says:

I love 1 Peter reading, even to verse 12. This is our Kindgom of Heaven Hope. Our hope for now in the brokenness is that our inheritance is “imperishable, undefiled, and unfading”. We WILL be made this one day and we are being refined now.

  11. Krystal Lorenzo says:

It’s challenging to imagine this being only the beginning because we have no framework beyond our fsith for what’s to come. I like @katie b’s analogy about her perspective on a rental house vs a permanent home. And also think that just as children enter the world, mature and learn more, so too we can grow in learning about God and what’s to come. The challenges of this life are often so consuming that we don’t have much capacity for preparing for what’s to come.

  12. Gayle Craik says:

Our citizenship is in Heaven! Not earth!amen

  13. Aimee D-R says:

Jesus Christ my living hope! Amen

  14. Adrianne says:

Jesus as always is showing us how it is done. He is our teacher. God raised Him to show us the truth of what is to come in the new heaven and earth. God showed us that He can and will do the impossible to fulfill prophecies and establish Jesus as our Savior. That even after taking on the immense weight of our sins, Jesus still came back to spread the good news of faith in God. To tell us that He could carry our burden and wipe us clean if we believe and hold on to our faith.

  15. Wanda Woehlert says:

According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

  16. Amanda Braswell says:

    ❤️❤️❤️

  17. Dawn E Rowe says:

Katie I love this analogy- Wow ♥️

  18. Katie B says:

I think about my citizenship being in Heaven and not here as like a rental. Right now my husband and I are renting a house (my earthly life) as we save to build a new one (my heavenly life). When things go wrong in our rental, I of course fix them, and work to make it nice (just as God is making all things new and I’m called to do the same), but I also don’t fret over every small detail not being perfect, because I know this is not the end-game. This isn’t forever.
    Hopefully that makes sense.

  19. Dawn E Rowe says:

Thank you so much for the response Rhonda- just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing anything- and you are absolutely right, I feel like I’m able to dive deeper into the scripture in a more personal way- I have grown so much from being a part of this community. ♥️

  20. Rhonda J. says:

Hi Dawn, you are correct in what you said, and that is the current format. They do that every once in a while to switch it up, to have us dig deeper into the scripture. So no devotional with this format. Thankfully we have so much wisdom and insight in the comments! I like the daily devotionals myself, but I am finally getting into the rhythm!

  21. Christina Maisel says:

O what stood out to me was how the linen from his head was not in the place of the linen for his body, and was folded the set aside. Jesus folded the linen. Just that simple step and act astonishes me.

  22. Dawn E Rowe says:

    Hey Y’all-

I’m a little behind on our current plan, so maybe I’m missing something, but are the Daily Readings different in this reading plan? I only see an overview of the verses, and a small blurb, but no commentary? Gosh, I hope I’m explaining this right- Can someone please help me out- am I missing something or is it formatted differently?

    Thanks so much-

    1. Tammy Fox says:

They are only doing a little blurb for this study. For the next study I think the more detailed commentary/ devotional will be back.

    2. Lita Solis says:

I thought the app reading plans had less content in general than the actual books. But this is my first app plan.

  23. Nikki Nielsen says:

Psalm 71:20 …but You will revive me again.
1 Peter 1:3 …His great mercy He has given us new birth.
The passages we read today make me think of James 1:12. “ Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
Thank You, God, for promises of the good things that are coming after the trials.

  24. Rhonda J. says:

Philippians 3:20–21 So good! @Traci Gendron- oh your comment, breaks my heart in a beautiful way. Such a good thing to remember when our loved ones get to heaven.

I thought immediately of the Phil Wickham song as well “Living Hope!” It is such a powerful song! We will sing it at Jail Ministry tomorrow! Glad you are better @Ceegee!
There were so many good comments after yesterday;s reading, I couldn’t even add to them, and today as well!

Always good to see all ya’ll here each and every day! Big Heart!

  25. Juanita Mills says:

Life in Christ is everything ❤️

  26. Jennifer Anapol says:

My earthly body disappoints me many times, but praise be to God that one day I will have a heavenly, perfect body. ❤️

  27. Terri Baldwin says:

Paul encourages believers to shift their focus from worldly desires to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ. He emphasizes the pursuit of Christ as the ultimate goal, a call to strive for heavenly citizenship, and living in anticipation of Christ’s return.

  28. Donna Wolcott says:

Today’s scriptures, brought to mind the song “I Believe It” by Jon Reddick. Just mentioning a few verses.

    I believe in the resurrection
I believe He’s comin’ back again
I believe that His Spirit’s with us
I believe that He gives us power
I believe that He is the son of God
I believe it, I believe it

I believe in the life of Jesus
I believe that He conquered death
    I believe in the resurrection
I believe He’s comin’ back again

I (Donna) BELIEVE, thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen and amen.

  31. Sarah D. says:

@Michelle Patire and @Kimberly Z., thank you both so much!! I know we’re in similar stages of life with being single…praying for you both too!! So thankful we can pray for each other, even from a distance and having not even met in person!! This past weekend was pretty rough for me…I was a bit more emotional since it’s that “time” of the month, but also it’s been hard at times to be happy for my friend who is dating a guy. I want to hear her news about the times they’ve hung out together, and she seems so happy, but it also stings because I want that too. He’s the first person she’s dated, and I honestly feel jealous that she hasn’t gone through multiple dates with guys who haven’t worked out (bc it seems like everything is going well for them as of now)…I really wish I didn’t feel that way. I know that it is sinful to be jealous. I just read the other day in Romans about “rejoicing with those who rejoice”…but I feel like my heart isn’t in it, even if I put on a smile. Saturday I journaled, and honestly, I just feel a bit tired of celebrating other people. One of my other good friends/old roommate got married last August, and my roommate/good friend now is the one who is dating…I feel like I’m not seen. I also am a bit annoyed at the guy I like, because I wish I had clarity. It’s hard… I know in waiting seasons, I can’t see what will happen on the other side yet. But God knows. I just pray I won’t have to wait a long time, because I feel that I’m in a good place to get married, after having dealt with anxiety. I also wanted to be a teacher because it is a great job to have when you have a family…ranting here but would love your continued prayers! Praying the Lord would change my heart to think the way he does <3

    1. Annika S says:

What has comforted me in singleness is listening to Mia Fieldes story, she describes being hidden rather than not seen. Gives me comfort when it feels like everyone else is meeting the right guy! Praying.

  32. Tricia C says:

I just love this passage in 1 Peter! A Living Hope! Hallelujah!
I am keeping you all in prayer. What a wonderful thing to know that we have Hope, no matter our circumstances and what we have been through and what we are going through. Be blessed this afternoon ladies.

  33. Kimberly Z says:

Happy Tuesday ladies! What a great reminder that our lord and savior is always with us even through the hard stuff. @SARAH D – I second what Michelle Patire has said. Singleness is hard but gods timing is truly everything. I pray everything comes at the perfect timing and you feel content in each season. I know how hard it is.

  34. Cindy Hanna says:

My favorite from today. (1 Peter 3:1) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” All my doubts and fears fade when I dwell on God’s mercy. New Birth. Living, abiding and ever present Hope. God never fails to encourage my heart in the early morning hours when I meet him in scripture.

  35. Terri Baldwin says:

”Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.“
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

  36. Kristina says:

Because Jesus was made new after His sacrifice, I was made new in sobriety! I will also be made new in mental struggles of anxiety, depression, and identity. Faith in Jesus that I have been made New (2 Corinthians 5:17) and knowing God does not create mistakes (Psalm 139:13-14).

I pray for the confidence to share what God has done and will do <3

  37. Kristy says:

John 20.17 — I am ascending to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God!! What a gift.
John 30.18 — “I have seen the Lord” -Mary Magdalene. Lord help me to be like Mary. To look for you, to not leave until I see you. Give me eyes to see YOU in my life!
1 Corinthians 15:1-26 — so so much here. The gospel is MOST important. Christ died for my sins, He was buried, He was raised, He appeared to over 500 people. Bc they proclaimed this I have believed. Bc they proclaimed this we all have believed. And now I proclaim so who in my life can believe?
1 Peter 1:3 — The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ gives us a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus.
Living Hope = through the resurrection of Jesus a shared inheritance w Christ
Hope = a confident expectation of future blessing based on FACTS & PROMISES.
Future blessing = a perfect face to face union with the Maker and Lover of our souls – secured for us by Christs sacrifice and culminating in our one- day arrival in glory. For now we see in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.”(SRT Bible pg. 2119)
Our hope is alive!! Secured for us, it’s not going anywhere. We can bet our life on it! Thank you Jesus, Thank you!!! Thank you for your facts and promises. Thank you for your word. Thank you for the gospel. Thank you for coming, for dying, for raising from the dead to give us this living hope! An inheritance that is imperishable, undefined, and unfading, kept in heaven for us. The ultimate trust fund that is guarded by your power! Just thank you!

  38. Adrienne says:

All of today’s readings are just so great!

The resurrection account of Jesus appearing to Mary in the book of John is my favorite! Goosebumps. every. time.

And in the reading from 1 Corinthians, the word ‘indeed’ in verse 20 should be capitalized!

And the Philippians reading…We are but strangers here. Heaven is our home! Always remember that!

    I’m but a stranger here,
    Heaven is my home;
    Earth is a desert drear;
    Heaven is my home:
    Danger and sorrow stand
    Round me on every hand;
    Heaven is my fatherland,
    Heaven is my home.

    What though the tempest rage,
    Heaven is my home;
    Short is my pilgrimage,
    Heaven is my home:
    And time’s wild wintry blast
    Soon shall be overpast;
I shall reach home at last,
    Heaven is my home.

    There at my Saviour’s side,
    Heaven is my home;
    I shall be glorified,
    Heaven is my home.
There are the good and blest,
    Those I love most and best;
And there I too shall rest,
    Heaven is my home.

    Therefore I murmur not,
    Heaven is my home;
    Whate’er my earthly lot,
    Heaven is my home:
    And I shall surely stand
There at my Lord’s right hand:
    Heaven is my fatherland,
    Heaven is my home.
    Amen.

    @Tina ❤️

@Mercy ❤️ I pray grace to you and your husband. May there be open and clear communication, peace in your relationship. May you find resolution and love for each other in your disagreements.

@ ❤️ Linda in NC, your story reminds me a bit of @Lynne in Alabama…you have such a good attitude for the circumstances you face. I pray continued strength to both you and Lynne as you both care for your husbands. The Lord help you and uphold you by His righteous right hand. “Fear not, for I am with You; Be not dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NKJV ❤️
    ✝️

@Laura Dianne – believing your children will turn back to the Lord. May you believe that and speak that, even when it looks the opposite. Doing the same for my family. ❤️

@Sarah D- still keeping you in mind regarding singleness. God continue to show you His great love is greater than any human love. May you be blessed in your obedience to Him and wait patiently with hopeful expectations. You are favored and loved! ❤️

God bless all with unspoken requests. ❤️

  40. LylahV says:

Yes, this! I miss you too.

  41. Traci Gendron says:

Philippians 3:20-21 Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

This stood out to me. To know He will restore us into the likeness of Himself! That my beautiful son has a new heavenly body that is healed. We struggle here on earth but will no longer.

  42. Kris says:

I just love the part where Jesus tells Mary that He is going to ascend to His Father, and her Father, His God, and her God. It’s so hard to grasp that Jesus’s Father is my Father, too. That Jesus’ God is my God, too!! The very same Father and God. Understanding that we are CO-HEIRS with Jesus is so hard to grasp because He was so perfect, and I am not. It just doesn’t seem fair that I get to be an equal heir in the kingdom of God. I don’t deserve it. I’ve done so many bad things, I’ve failed God in so many ways. But because of His deep love for us, He provided a way for us to be in the family. How can I ever thank Him enough?

  43. Cheryl Blow says:

We have a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus! Praise God!

  44. Cee Gee says:

Now for what stood out to me today – like many of you- LIVING HOPE!

    Also – revive us again.
SEARCHING, I too was reminded of that old hymn!

but the song that immediately came to mind for LIVING HOPE was this one by Phil Wickham
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke your name into the night
    Then through the darkness
    Your loving kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The king of kings calls me His own
    Beautiful savior, I’m yours forever
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the one who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There’s salvation in your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the one who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There’s salvation in your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the roaring lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the roaring lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus, yours is the victory, whoa!
Hallelujah, praise the one who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There’s salvation in your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the one who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There’s salvation in your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Oh God, you are my living hope

    1. Tricia C says:

      I agree with MARY V.

  48. Mari V says:

We will be restored (paraphrased NIV version Psalms 71:20). Such hope this morning and I love it! Life is hard! But over and over we read through HIS Word this truth of restoration. I long for that day! I keep in mind this world is not our home, we’re just passing through. I know most of us have heard this (sigh) and I hold onto that hope that someday we will all be with Jesus! OH…what a day that will be. Speaking of life I would appreciate prayer as I’m testing students, YEP in kindergarten, and I NEED TO (HAVE TO) be done by tomorrow. I’ve gotten better from the beginning of the year, but feeling the pressure to be done by tomorrow. Also, pray for my son as he figures out what his next step is after graduating.

SO many GOOD and DEEP scriptures this morning!!! I got SO much!! I also included another commentary from Got Questions about Genesis 3:15

Hope you all have an AMAZING God-conscious and revelation filled day!! Big Blessings and prayers as always!!! Xoxo

    Psalm 71:20
*this verse is such a good reminder!!! Let us look for and to You in EVERYTHING and let us recognize and PRAISE through every single moment!! For You, God are MORE than faithful!!! You are WORTHY beyond compare and You deserve our complete trust!! Amen and thank You Father!!

Philippians 3:20-21 Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. 21 He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.
    *Amen!! Transform us Father!!!

    1 Corinthians 15:21-28
    1 Corinthians 15:33-34
    1 Corinthians 15:35-38
    1 Corinthians 15:42-44
    1 Corinthians 15:50-58
*Wow!! There’s a LOT in here!! Way too much to unpack in a quick synopsis!! Let us remember that what we sow does not come to life until it dies!! And that God is the only one to give life!! LOTS of deep stuff just in this!! But moving on.. Let us devote ourselves to God and stand firm (not allowing ourselves to be misled) in His Way so that we may be changed and clothed in Him and His imperishable & immortal Way!! Let us look and receive with Heavenly eyes and understanding!! Let us subject EVERYTHING to God so that He may be ALL in ALL!! Amen.

    John 20:14-17
*I LOVE this exchange!! I also took note that Mary was the first person at the tomb, the first to notice that Jesus was gone, the first to tell others, and that she wouldn’t leave the tomb until she had an answer!! This stands out to me!! Especially since God has been speaking to me about waiting at His feet and only going/doing as He alone asks!! We wait until we have an answer, just like Mary did!! And in the waiting Jesus revealed Himself to her and told her what to go/do.. and she did it!! This speaks to me SO much!!
**I also take note that Mary, a woman, was the first person Jesus chose to reveal Himself to!! It makes me think of Eve, and how she was the first… the first woman, the first helpmate, the first the enemy revealed himself to, the first to “fall” …BUT then there’s God right there saying I have a plan!! (Genesis 3:15) There WILL be restoration and it will come through Eve “the mother of all living” (Genesis 3:20) …Jesus is Eve’s offspring!! (mind-blowing to think about!) God chose woman to fulfill the plan and promise He had: the enemy’s complete defeat and our restoration & salvation!!! God took back what was His and used everything that was meant for evil & destruction and turned it for His good!! He brought us Life!! His Life!!! How GOOD and how AWESOME is our God!!! LOVE how He brings everything FULL circle!!! There is nothing, no circle that is incomplete!! From beginning to end, God uses ALL of it and uses it for His complete honor and glory!!! SO grateful!! Thank You Lord for revealing and connecting all these “dots”!! You’re AMAZING and SO worthy to be praised!!! All honor and Glory to You, FOREVER!!!
***commentary from Got Questions “Genesis 3:15 is a remarkable verse, often called the protoenvangelium (literally, “first gospel”), because it is the Bible’s first prediction of a Savior. The second half of the verse gives two messianic prophecies concerning that Savior: The first messianic prophecy is that “he will crush your head.” That is, the seed of the woman will crush the serpent’s head. The Amplified Bible makes it clear that “the woman’s seed” is more than mankind in general; it is an individual representing all mankind. The second messianic prophecy is that “you will strike his heel.” That is, the serpent will bite the heel of “the woman’s seed.” This passage points to the promise of Jesus’ birth, His redemption, and His victory over Satan. The woman’s offspring is Jesus. Being virgin-born, He is literally the offspring of a woman. Being the Son of Man, He is the perfect representative of humankind.
The devil’s offspring were the evil men and demonic forces who, like a snake, lay in wait for the Savior and struck at Him. Their venomous conspiracy condemned Jesus to be crucified. But the serpent’s strike did not spell the end of the Offspring of the woman. Jesus rose the third day, breaking the power of death and winning the ultimate victory. With the cross, Jesus “crushed” the devil’s head, defeating him forever. The crushing of the serpent’s head was a picture of Jesus’ triumph over sin and Satan at the cross. The striking of the Messiah’s heel was a picture of the wounding and death of Jesus on the cross. Satan bruised Jesus’ “heel,” but Jesus showed complete dominance over Satan by bruising his “head.” Satan, although still active in this world, is a defeated foe. His doom is sure. The protoevangelium shows us that God always had the plan of salvation in mind and informed us of His plan as soon as sin entered the world. Satan formulated a plan involving the serpent in Eden, but God was way ahead of him, having already ordained the Serpent-crusher. Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled God’s mission: “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8).

  52. Susan Magaw says:

John 20:17 stood out to me today. I don’t remember noticing that Jesus said he was ascending to His father and our father. I think I just glossed over the “our father” part. He included us before he even ascended. It was such a comfort to me today. I recently lost my brother-in-law who was a believer. What a joy that he is now with his father and our father as Jesus told us. What wonderful words of hope.

  53. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

1 Corinthians 15:3 – I’ve heard referred to as “The Gospel in a nutshell!” Christ died, for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Amen!! The one thing that makes our “religion” different from all the others is that our God rose from the dead! He is alive!! Praise God – not only did Jesus rise from the dead – we too shall one day rise again! SO much exciting stuff to look forward to!

I love 1 Corinthians 15:10 -“BUT by the grace of God I am what I am…” Where would we be without the love and grace of God?? I hate to even think about it.

And I also love 1 Peter 1:3 – it has become one of my favorite verses of scripture! Praise be to God…in His great mercy we have been given new birth – into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen & Amen! Without the cross, without Christ death and resurrection we would so be without hope.

Such great reminders of our salvation and hope in Christ as we start our new day.

@Linda in NC – I can’t begin to imagine how hard it must be to care for your husband 24/7 — both you and @Lynn from Alabama – may God give each of you the physical, mental and emotional strength as you care for the loves of your lives. @Linda, healing for your rotator cuff and wisdom for the doctors as they treat your beloved. @Lynn prayers for wisdom for the doctors as he goes today and as they look to somehow treat Jack’s cancer. ❤️❤️

@Mercy – praying that your husband will understand your love for Christ and not be resentful toward you.

@Gretel – prayers for your new diet. May you be able to stick with it and become a healthier you.

@Kelly Neo – continued prayers for “K’s” recovery.

@A Walton – praise the Lord for your safe return – and that you got your car back! Continued prayers for your housing needs.

@Tina – thank you for remembering all of us! ❤️

Have a blessed Tuesday – it’s a heat wave today, it will be in the 30’s!!

  54. Erica Chiarelli says:

I am so thankful to remember what Jesus did! He is the firstborn of all of us that trust in Him. As He was raised to life, so are we and will be again. As He was made new, so are we! We are born again to a living Hope!!!

  55. Laura Dianne says:

When my son is willing to talk about why he turned his back on his faith, he always brings up the fact that he doesn’t want to believe in a God who will condemn people to hell. It’s always an interesting argument to me, because I don’t think of it that way. I am grateful for a God who is willing to pursue us, to wait for us, to die for us, so that we may escape the torture of hell and live in heaven with Him. It really is perspective on whether man is inherently good or inherently evil, isn’t it? Sometimes it is an overwhelming burden to me when I think about my own children, who I raised and loved and nurtured through their whole life, not believing this truth and not living in eternity with the Lord. My heart hurts daily for this realization. But all I can do is continue to pray, continue to trust the great God who loves everyone and created all of us, the One who never gives up on us no matter how rebellious our hearts are toward Him. I love reading anything from Paul, because he understood this rebellion so well, and it is a comfort to me that God saved him and used him in such a mighty way. I pray the same for my children.

MERCY My heart was so sad for you when I read your prayer request yesterday. You are such a prayer warrior here for all of us and a faithful encourager, and I am sad that in your own home you feel this animosity toward your faith from you husband. I will remember to pray for you.

LINDA IN SC My heart was also so sad for you and your 24/7 caregiving duties. I am currently helping my brother a few days a week to care for his wife who has dementia. It is wearing his body down so much and I just can’t imagine how hard it is on anyone who has those responsibilities day in and day out. I will be praying for you today and as God brings you to my mind in the future.

  56. Searching says:

LINDA IN NC – Lord Jesus, we pray for our sister Linda as she cares for her dear husband. We pray for wisdom in managing his care and making necessary decisions, for the strength and healing she needs to handle the tasks, for his doctors as they work to resolve the bp issues, for stability in his blood sugar levels, for patience in the ever present challenges. Love you ❤️

LYNNE FROM AL, NANCY S, GRAMSIESUE and other caregiving sisters – praying for your needs also. May the Lord give each of you strength and wisdom. ❤️

  57. Karen Elizabeth says:

LINDA IN NC- praying for you, my dear sister. Praying that the BP and BS issues resolve and for your pain to be relieved. Also praying that people step up and help you with his care. I work in home health and work with a lot of people with dementia and PD. You should not have to do this alone. Please consider enlisting family or friends to provide some relief for you and talk to his doctor about referrals to additional home help. I will keep you in my prayers ❤️

  58. Taylor says:

So thankful for this living hope we have been given through Jesus’ resurrection from the dead! I have an early appointment this morning so popping in to say hello and lifting up the prayer requests <3

  59. Searching says:

Mary Magdalene, first to see Christ after His resurrection – can you imagine? Confusion, amazement, thankfulness, the impact sinking in to her mind, clarity of what Jesus had been teaching, wow. May the impact of His death and resurrection continue to draw us and others to Him.

And yes KELLY (NEO), that verse. Thankful it is all true and we know that in our hearts and minds.

STEPHANIE WILSEY – I was also drawn to being revived, and was reminded of an old hymn, Revive Us Again, 1863, William P MacKay.

    1. We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.

    * Refrain:
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

    2. We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.
    3. All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.
    4. All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways.
    5. Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

    Psalm 85:6-7
6 Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation.

BG verse of day James 1:5

RUTH LONG – your sisters here are coming alongside you in prayer, for the Lord’s comfort in your heartache and sadness ❤️

KELLY (NEO) ❤️ thankful your back continues to improve! I try to remember to move around every hour or so to help with the stiffness

TAYLOR – praying for Logan, your uncle and medical team

LYNNE FROM AL – ❤️ praying for today’s appointment, for wisdom and clarity

A WALTON – thankful for safe travels and return of car
STACEY BROTHERS – praying for pain relief
CEE GEE -❤️ praying for health and healing

MERCY ❤️ praying, sister! For you and your husband. I don’t have the words but our God knows the need to be on the same page, so to speak, with Him in a marriage. Love you!

    TINA ❤️

  60. Linda in NC says:

Dear sisters, I’m beginning this day asking for your specific continued prayers. This job of being a full time caregiver is exhausting physically, emotionally and spiritually! Yesterday was especially tough. Not only does my husband have dementia, he is diabetic and has Parkinson’s. Low blood pressures for over 24 hours continuing are making confusion and comprehension worse. Yesterday he also had digestive issues which required multiply changes of clothes which I had to do.Dr is working to figure a solution to balance BP. Also dealt with low blood sugar all night.
I have my own set of problems, (deterioration of spine, arthritis) and found out Fri my right rotator cuff is torn. (Had an injection which has temporarily helped). Everything
I did to help him just made me hurt more.
Not trying to sound sorry for myself! This is the season where God has placed me. I’ve loved this godly man for over 60+ yrs. Just need your faithful prayers to be able to keep being and doing all that is needed. Thank you so much for listening and praying.
May each of us grow more like Jesus and bless others today❤❤❤

    1. Gloria Hula says:

Praying for strength and energy and rest for you also!

    2. Mia Faith says:

Linda in NC, praying for you and your husband now!!

  61. Danielle B says:

Christ has made the way. This life is temporary. Our resurrected bodies are for eternity. @kelly (neo) thanks pointing out the reminder the resurrected bodies is not for our temporary residence on this earth.

  62. Stephanie Wilsey says:

I needed to hear Psalm 71 today. You who have made me see troubles and calamities will revive me again. From the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. You will increase my honor and comfort me again.

Yes, Lord, may it be so. Revive me, bring me to life. Regenerate my heart and mind and restore me fully so that I may serve You, for Your purposes.

  63. Karen Bruno says:

“…because of His great mercy he has given us new birth into a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
God, thank you for your unmatched love and mercy that went to great depths to give us new birth and hope for the future. We await the day that death is abolished and we will assume our heavenly citizenship robed in glorious bodies that will no longer decay.
We anxiously await our new home, with You. For now, may we keep our heavenly focus and share the hope that You alone can give.

  64. Gretel . says:

“He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body” Phil 3:21
He will make my body brand new and he is actively making my body brand new. I will hold onto that promise today as I start a healing journey for my gut. I am working with a nutritionist to implement a gluten free, dairy free, nut free, egg free diet. Without God, I will absolutely fail! But I want to join in the restoration process by committing to this diet to transform my body here and now instead of waiting for my new body in heaven. Pray for me!

  65. Kelly (NEO) says:

“If we have put our hope in Christ for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone.”(1Cor15:19)

Great reminder that my trust in Jesus is not just for this fleeting life, but for eternal life. Since in this life we will have “trouble” and pain, what is the point of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection? They’re to bring us into life beyond this one.

Thank you for your continued prayers for my back. Have not had to take any pain relievers in three days and only a dull ache when I sit too long. So it is definitely healing up. Trying not to overdo it and agitate it again.

Also “K” and baby went home from hospital yesterday. She is still high-risk for blood clots for the next few weeks so plz pray she will lean into Jesus for peace.

Loved everyone’s comments yesterday. Several of you pointed out about the evil along side us as being planted by Satan to choke us out – great points.

SEARCHING – thanks for the addional research on the “tares”

ERB – thanks for your insight

CEE GEE and STACY BROTHERS – praying you feel better today

RUTH LONG – praying for your broken heart. May Jesus bring you comfort and peace

TAYLOR – prayers for Logan’s healing ang wisdom for your uncle and the medical team

  66. Ada McCloud says:

Amen. When we receive the Spirit we are a new creation. We have died to our old self and are made new. The joy and excitement of that moment, for me has faded.

  67. Marya says:

I second the SCD diet from the Breaking the Vicious Cycle book. I’m in complete remission from severe ulcerative pan colitis. My latest scope was all clear! There is hope. ❤️

  68. Sally B. says:

Oh my Ladies, don’t these words from 1 Peter just sum up the wonderful truths we are learning in this study!!:

3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, un-corrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials

    Indeed, Praise His Name.

  70. Alyssa Murdock Martinez says:

Father, the Good news of salvation is not hypothetical, it happened and is real! Jesus DID die on the cross for our sins & He WAS risen from the dead three days later, and because of that anyone & everyone who wholeheartedly believes in this, we have been given a new life in Christ. We are spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for Your glory and purpose. We have everything to live for. Even though we will suffer and go through many hardships, trials and pain in our life, Your AMAZING promises that will happen when Jesus comes back, they outweigh all of the bad things that are going to happen in our life here. He will make all things new, healed and whole as it should be.
I am very much encouraged to spread this amazing news with everyone, so they too can have this Hope of reassurance to comfort them. When the world and enemy comes knocking trying to tear me down, overwhelm me with worry, and suffocate me with stress, I will not give in to their pressure or lies. I AM a citizen of Heaven! I am here waiting on the arrival of My Savior, My Master, Jesus Christ! While I am here I will continue to invite all people to hear and receive The Good News of What an amazing God we have who really does love and value us so much, to send us such a beautiful amazing gift, His Son to save us! Jesus died for us to be saved! Thank You Abba, Father! All glory, Thanks, praise be to You!
    ✝️❤️

  71. A Walton says:

We arrived safely. Thanks for the prayers. Getting back into a regular routine has been hard, plus dealing with jet-lag (lots of 1AM nights with my twins!), but we will get there eventually. Officially got our car back. Yay! Good to have it.

Still would appreciate prayers for our housing. Everything seems out of our price range and rents are so high. Thank you.

GRETCHENS- So sorry to hear your daughter struggles with crohn’s disease. My brother had ulcerative colitis. He was super sick and he was only getting worse. My mom found a diet to really heal the gut from the book Breaking the Vicious cycle by Gottschall. My brother was on the diet a year and it really helped. He very rarely has a flare up and it is never as bad as what it first was. Just thought I’d share. I will pray for your daughter.
