a friendly note

Hey friends!

It’s been a busy couple of days weeks months in She Reads Truth land! (Are y’all feeling busy too? Such a tricky balance, isn’t it?) We are beginning our new study of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount first thing tomorrow morning (yay!). But before today ends, I just want to touch base, communicate a few things, and… just say a quiet, “hello!”

Funny/nerdy sidenote: Internally, we call posts like these “hey girl, hey!” posts. Is that weird? I’ll confess that they’re some of my favorites because I literally do get to say “hey!” It’s as close as we get to coffee dates as one big community. Your conversations in the comments are always so fun to watch!

Okay, sidenote over—a few things to communicate:

– Sermon on the Mount starts tomorrow! (I know I just said that, but I’m really excited. Writing this plan has been so powerful and uplifting and convicting for our team. We’ve already been praying for weeks that The Lord will use our offering for His glory!)

– We still have a few Sermon on the Mount Study Packs left. Feel free to order now—we’re shipping daily so we’ll do our best to get them to you ASAP!

Our study of Ruth ended on Sunday. Man, do I love that book. It’s so easy and wonderful to find Christ on every page. I want to study it all over again!

– Following the study of The Sermon on the Mount (and following Raechel’s return from Rwanda with IJM and Noonday on the #StyleForJustice trip), we will take a really solid look at the topic of Biblical Justice—and what this means for our relationship with God, our relationships with our neighbors, and our relationship with the world. It’s going to be a really insightful, enlightening study, and we’re looking forward to some guest writers from Noonday and IJM as this is their area of heart-beating expertise.

– Of course this means that we will very soon be launching the Justice Study Packs for sale in the She Reads Truth Shop! These study packs are optional and wonderful – a tool so many of you have said lends further accountability and share-ability. They also come with some really lovely prints and mini prints for scripture memorization and sharing!

– The App. You guys, THE APP!!!! Our development/design team gets a little rumpled when we broadcast specific dates for launch. (We want to launch ASAP, and they—rightly—want to launch WELL.) But if you all promise not to hold us to a specific date, we’ll whisper in your ear that we expect that it *might* be available on the App store by the end of next week!

A few answers to some FAQs about the She Reads Truth Bible + Devotional app:

– The app launching in July is for devices running on iOS7. That means any iPhones, iPods touches, and iPad/iPad minis running iOS7.
– The Android app is in progress! Expect to see it late fall!
– The iPad app will follow closely behind the iPhone app – expect to see it by late summer/early fall!
– We’ve had some pretty exciting days this last week in which we officially secured the NIV Bible for the app. We will also launch with NASB, and have four additional Bible tranlastions (the ones you said were at the top of your lists!) planned for future updates. (Seriously though – how crazy is this??? We feel like little kids most of the time and suddenly we have our very own, big-girl-pants BIBLE APP!)

*grins from ear to ear*

Okay, that’s enough for now!

Mostly, I just want to communicate how humbly grateful we are to get to write to and for you girls! What a privilege the Lord has given each of us – all of us – to seek Him in quiet, and yet together!

Blessings sisters!

xo,
Raechel (and the She Reads Truth team!)

I stopped getting emails after Ruth. How can I see what we are doing now? Has something new started? Also, I can’t find the App!

I shared an SRT image on FB yesterday and had someone (who I'd never humanly think to reach out) asked what church I attend and if they could go with me! Praise be to our Lord. All because He shared SRT through me to reach her. Thank you SRT for allowing Him to use you in such amazing ways.
