I truly have a bad habit of not thanking God for the everyday things he gives me! Yesterday I got to spend an awesome time with my family & witness all that God is doing in our lives. I had to sit back & take in all that He has provided for me and all I need to thank Him for. I went to the zoo with my family & while walking around with my family God just put on my heart how lucky I was. He just put it on my heart for me to show my love to Him, by spending time with Him! Just like I love spending time w/my family, my passion for spending time with Him should be just as strong!!! I am so glad I found this blog. This will be quite a challenge for me, but I am up for it!

  3. Yesterday I took part in one of the most wonderful prayer experiences I have ever had.

I have a beautiful group of friends from church — there are about 20 of us — and one of my friends from that group took his MCAT exam yesterday with the hopes of getting into medical school for Fall 2013. This wonderful man is 33, gave up a very lucrative job as the US distribution director of an Italian company, sold his condo and most of us stuff to move into a less than desirable apartment so he could take two years of prep classes for medical school. (Note: He studied business and has to take two years of biology, chemistry, anatomy and other classes before he's even ready for medical school.) His dream is to work at an ER in Boston for half of the year and work at a clinic in Haiti for the other half of the year.

He took the MCAT yesterday and it was from 8 am – noon. We had "prayer warriors unite!" from 6:30 am until after 1pm in 20 minute shifts. Mine was during work so I went into a quiet conference room and prayed that he would have ease, remember what he's learned and give him the mental and physical strength to do well.

It was truly amazing that so many people wanted to be a part of this experience. We had at least one person praying for him continually all morning. I am blessed to be part of a community that loves each other so much that we would band together and help our friend.

Now we sit and wait. If he scores are high enough for medical school, we will celebrate his achievement. If he feels that his scores could be better, he'll sign up again, study again and we will help him in any way we can. It's in God's hands now.

On my recent camping trip with my husband I had plenty of time to spend with God – both in focused prayer/devotional time and intermittently throughout the day. He had spoke to me on a few topics….read about them on my blog.

My prayer life still needs a lot of work, but I can already feel so much change with this latest devotion. Right now, my brother is going through some difficult times and I've been praying heavily for him. God has put forgiveness on my heart as a message I need to relay to him in order to help him move on and release his anger. Here's the post I wrote: http://ablackboardoflessons.blogspot.com/2012/07/

What are your experiences with forgiveness? What has God taught you about forgiveness and letting go of the past?
