We receive the only true rest when we rest in Him. We get to drink from the river of eternal life without paying the price. (From Hebrews & Revelations). What gifts. What a Savior.
Oh the hope in these verses. Needed that reminder of what is to come
We have a place promised to us to spend with his majesty forever because he paid it all and has by his grace allowed us to take part with him amen
Looking at the face of Jesus forever sounds like the best thing imaginable
Lord you are good and you are mighty and the Lord is my strength!
Being assured eternal life is a comfort
I am currently getting over a stomach bug and have been drinking a lot of liquid to rehydrate myself. Revelation 22:17 “Let the thirsty come” made me think of that feeling. Not just that you want a drink. But knowing that you need to be replenished. The contentment when you know you are being filled. What an amazing offer Christ is making to us, to come to him and be given the water of life.

Hey friends. I wanted to ask for prayers. Maybe it’s bc I caught a cold and am not myself when I feel sick, but I’ve been having this low level anxiety the past few days or so. It’s hard to understand why. I’m not an anxious person, normally. If you feel led, please lift me up as well as my family, who can always use prayers. We are a family of 9.
We all have a place at the table because of Jesus! Thank You Lord!
It always amazes me when God always says I am coming soon! It’s hard to remember that his idea of soon it’s a lot different than ours. For thousand years is but a day to him… how I wish he would hurry.
When we enter our final rest, we WILL find our eternal rest in him! That is the most wonderful thought. Our time whenever that comes will be filled with his Saving Grace!!

One needs to cease from one’s own works (Hebrews 4:10) and walk in God’s good works (Ephesians 2:10). Amen. I am in a journey to discern which are my own works, and which are God’s, it’s a liberating process to cut out dead works. I feel light and more intimate as I ask Him daily what my scope of work entails. It is different for each of us and I am thankful His yoke for me and you is designed to be easy. And easy means easy haha. Glory to Him.

@Carly S. I agree I felt the same way when I read “You are saved by grace!” So simple yet so calming and true. Happy Valentine’s Day ladies! I spent the day in Cambridge touring Kings College Church and learning how to punt! I won’t lie I thought it would be better to have a guide take us punting but it was so much fun to do it on our own. If you would have told me a year ago I’d be spending Valentine’s Day in Cambridge England I would have laughed. It’s funny what a year can do. Have a great day friends!

I was struck by “And there will no longer be any curse…” wow can you even imagine? I long for that day

I don’t have to “earn” my place in the Kingdom of God (I could never). Christ earned my place for me and has saved me by His grace and love.
Thank You, Jesus! I am so unworthy, but You make me worthy.
So as I have mentioned before, I read my Scripture from a Bible titled Thrive: A Journaling Devotional Bible for Women and it has some very interesting and awe-inspiring items in the devotions that are worth passing on. For the Scripture of Ephesians 2:2 under the Reflection part is “Pretending the enemy isn’t real doesn’t protect us from Satan’s attacks. There is a spiritual war going on all around us, and our faith in God is like a shield that protects us from the enemy’s attack. And it isn’t just what we believe that protects us — it is also who we believe in that will guard our hearts minds and ultimately our lives. The Holy Spirit is always present with us in the battle.”
FATHER GOD, I yield to You and allow You to WORK IN ME to do the GOOD THINGS YOU have planned. Help me to stay on the straight and narrow. AMEN.

This is so simple, but today I was struck by the end of Ephesians 2:5, “You are saved by grace!” I read that, and immediately thought “I AM saved!” And I want to live like it. I want to do all things, interact with all people, from a place of knowing and believing I’ve been saved. I hope everyone has a great day today!

Meditating today on the fact my “Kingdom Rest” is prepaid. If I don’t have to work to gain entry what am I doing with my time? What treasures am I storing?

Rachel From Texas– I think you are spot on with your thoughts about the Sabbath for all people, not just moms. While it can include physical rest or rest from work, it is primarily meant to make sure we are dedicating time to worship and develop a closer relationship with our savior. Those little moments throughout our busy weeks that allow us to mentally and spiritually rest in him. The brief breaks that allow us to reset our focus and our priorities. It may be ten minutes here, ten minutes there, but every little bit adds up! As christians we refer to Sunday as the Sabbath because of it being the day of Christ’s resurrection, but it’s really a mindset that we carry with us throughout the week. Being focused on thriving in Christ, not striving in the world.
He cannot work through us unless He works in us. This is why it is important for us to spend time daily in the Word and prayer, and to yield to Christ during times of suffering. For it is through the Word, prayer, and suffering that God works in us.
As we read God’s Word, understand it, meditate on it, and feed on it, the Word goes to work in our lives to cleanse us and nourish us. As we pray, God’s spirit works in us to release power. And as we suffer, the Spirit of God ministers to us. Suffering drives us back to the Word and prayer, and the cycle is repeated. – Warren Wiersbe

Seeing Him face to face, no other illumination needed! Wow.
On Sunday we sang Hymn of Heaven at church and this reading today took me back to that worship. After reading today I felt at a loss for words and turned on that song to praise and worship. ❤️
Tiffany C- so true! When I’m lacking a lot of sleep, my whole person is disrupted. May God truly help us and keep us in these times. I pray that for all the moms and caregivers here <3

Great analogy;
Ephesians 2 passage using “trespasses” reminded me of a joke my friend made last week. We were talking about sleep deprivation, needing God to supply with energy even though we regularly go towards coffee or tea or sugar to try to help us. We referenced the Lord’s prayer to sustain us “give us our daily bread;” my friend added “and forgive us our SLEEP DEBTS”
Some of us have racked up a lot of sleep debt. I’m not suggesting that God will magically make it go away by praying a modified Lord’s prayer, it’s likely something we have to work on. But like sin, the effects of sleep debt can prevent us from being His workmanship doing His good works. How many times have we been unproductive or lazy or snappy because we’re tired?
Eph. 2:1-10 is probably one of my favorite parts of scripture. We were dead (the greatest poverty) BUT God, who is RICH in mercy…. Made us alive *praise hands*
This whole section is about the work GOD does FOR us. We do nothing but believe and repent. “This is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift”!!
Thank you all for your responses yesterday- maybe the sabbath for moms is more of a mental/spiritual activity rather than a lack of physical activity. Maybe it’s doing something that gets you quiet & helps you listen/build your relationship with the Lord. For me, worship or being creative. I recently started hand embroidery and it is such a calming thing to take my mind off the other mundane daily tasks. For a friend of mine it’s her garden. (Sheesh don’t ask how old we are I promise we are young moms! Lol) Find what gifts or treasure or talents the Lord has blessed you with and invite Him to do them with you, sounds like restful sabbath behavior to me!! He would be honored :)
It’s hard to imagine I already have my heavenly home because what a great blessing it is. I see so many ways I could do better and live more holy for God- trusting and resting in him. Thank you God for already knowing my heart and loving me enough to make the way.
So thankful that Jesus did the work for us so we could REST in His victory! <3 Our souls are at peace knowing we will spend eternity with our Father

Amen. I remember someone referring to the devil as a wounded animal who is now behaving erratically against us. And it feels painful here and now. But we can take rest bc the victory is the Lord’s!
I love that it ends with the invitation for anyone who wants to to come. If we’re willing, so is He! More than willing.
I appreciate what Churchmouse said yesterday about finding rest in Jesus every day. I like her perspective on this topic. I have felt attacked by the enemy lately and especially yesterday. But I will rest in the Lord today and remember the enemy has been defeated. Thank you Jesus for the victory! Help me find rest in you. ❤️

We were once lost but now are found. So thankful I can rest in knowing I’ve been forgiven and don’t need to fear. Heaven is my home.
