Preparing to Rebuild

Open Your Bible

Nehemiah 2:11-20, Isaiah 62:10-12, Ephesians 2:19-22

Rebuilding is an action we can all relate to. Whether you’re rebuilding your beliefs about God after a dark night of the soul, rebuilding your health after an illness, or rebuilding trust after a conflict, there’s always an opportunity to put things back together. Hopefully, even better than before—or at least truer or deeper.

There’s a place in my life right now where rebuilding feels really slow and uncomfortable. Yet just like Nehemiah, I’m trying to trust the gracious hand of God. And so this passage today is a comfort. For me, the place is finances. For anyone in 2025, you know how hard it is to find work, pay the bills, and grow your savings. If anything, my husband and I feel like we’re drowning right now. We got married last spring and have struggled to find sustainable work ever since I left my full-time job and he graduated with a ministry degree. The market is hard, and our rebuilding process is slow.

Nehemiah had a vision of what could be in remembering the glory of what used to be. And with the support of King Artaxerxes I, he formed a creative partnership with the Lord, preparing to rebuild Jerusalem and reestablish Israel’s presence inside the city gates. Some people grow resentful after a season of exile or opposition. They turn away from God. But when Nehemiah responded to the officials, it’s clear from his word choice that he had not: “I told them how the gracious hand of my God had been on me, and what the king had said to me” (Nehemiah 2:18). He still saw God as gracious and protective. The people weren’t on their own in the rebuilding. Instead, “their hands were strengthened to do this good work” (v.18).

I love this imagery of our hands being strengthened. It lets me breathe a little more deeply. And the beautiful thing is, as we rebuild the beliefs, relationships, and resources in our lives, God partners with us. We aren’t alone. Our strength flows from Him. If our lives are rooted in the foundation of His love, we can trust everything to find its place from there.

In this season of rebuilding our finances, God is showing me the small, quiet ways He’s providing along the way. My husband works two days a week now at an organic farm (he also brings home fresh basil, onions, and broccolini—a gift!). As I too continue to pursue my career opportunities, I find hope in Nehemiah’s story. We still have The Big Need, but as we work on short-term solutions, we pray and wait…and wait and pray.

In whatever “in-between” space you find yourself right now, trust that Christ is our cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). All that we do and all that we are begins and ends in Him. As Scripture so beautifully puts it, in Christ, we are always being put back together, “built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit” (v.22).

Wow. This is so beautiful, our hands are strengthened when we creatively partner with God. Sometimes in the most simple and meaningful way of remembering His character and that his graciousness and faithfulness endures. I am so grateful to be in a season of surrender. Patiently waiting His next move in this rebuilding process.

I think we all experience seasons of rebuilding in many forms. I personally love the thought that God strengthens our hands to do what he calls us to do. God is always there in the process even when we do feel as though He is. What an encouragement to know that even if we can’t see Him, He is working all things to our good.and never leaves us.

I am in a rebuilding process and feel like I have been for a while. Believing that God is with me and for me has been encouraging. Today, I especially find hope in the fact that he has strengthened my hands for the work. This helps me! I know I’m not alone and that I have been empowered to continue the work.

I love the last verses in the NLT and Messafe versions. Paints a picture of God reunited with His people who were once afar off, strangers but are no more strangers or foreigners. They are coming home and they have as much right to their home country and being fit into it as anyone else who names as a Christian. They who weee once an outcast, misfit, rejected is being built into Christ, being the cornerstone, brick by brick and piece by piece. God is not leaving none behind. If you want God, you can have Him through accepting His Son Jesus Christ. Beautiful picture of Gods people returning home – returning to Him.
There is hope after ruin and setback. Jerusalem is being redone. Gods hand is in it and they have the favor of the King!

The past 3 months have been a roller coaster of feelings. And after the start of this week, when all we (my husband and I) thought we needed was to sell our house and move, God made it a peaceful rejection. There were no tears losing the contract on a new house, there were no tears when we told our realtor that we didn’t want to sell our house. Only peace. I feel like we have been going non-stop for the past 3 months. Constantly searching for how to make our wants a reality. When this was all a test… and trusting and patience was all he wanted us to have. We were looking for the “easy” way out of debt, we wanted the new house and the new start. But really all we needed was trust in the Lord. We do get a fresh start. We get to continue to lean on the Lord and his promises. We are right where God wants us.

Thank you for this devotional today. I am restarting a health journey this week after almost a year of illness, including a miscarriage and an autism diagnosis. Starting to rebuild is daunting after so much pain and loss. I loved reading the verse today that said “you will be called Cared For, A City Not Deserted”

    1. Wendy B says:

I’m so sorry you have have experienced the devastating loss of a precious babe and a miscarriage and other health struggles. May the Lord be your strength, comfort and peace as you trust Him.❤️

  26. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Praying that God will “rebuild” our church. We’ve taken a lot of hits, starting just before COVID & continuing all the way ro this past year.
Some days I m so hopeful, other days I feel it’s hopeless. It’s a constant roller coaster ride. But as I’m reminded in Nehemiah’s prayer, the Lord God of heaven is a great and awesome God – and that is where in my hope lies!

I heard this song by Jon Riddick while I was running errands and thought how it was so true for Nehemiah and such a timely reminder for us:

    First verse-
There are angel armies I have yet to see
    I believe
There are prayers I’ve never heard surrounding me
There’s a strength that’s not my own when I am weak
So, I have no doubt that He stands with me
I have no doubt that he stands with me

    chorus-

    I know that I don’t fight alone
    I know that I don’t fight alone
    This is His promise
    Yeah, this is my hope
No matter what it looks like
    I don’t fight alone
    Third verse-
The God of our fathers was faithful to them
Over and over they trusted in Him
    We stand on their shoulders
    And carry the flame
    He’s been faithful before
He’ll be faithful before, He’ll faithful again

Whatever may come we will sing it out

    I know that I don’t fight alone
    I know that I don’t fight alone
    ‘Cause this is His promise
    Yeah, this is my hope
No matter what it looks like
    I don’t fight alone

“rebuilding is not for the faint of heart. He is my strength and I trust Him. “ (Wendy)

“What in our lives is already established, but damaged and needs fixed.” (Danielle B)

I am six weeks into rebuilding what was damaged and needing fixing physically. I have a 3-6 months of recovery with major back surgery and fusion. Praise God that it was fixable and all the former pain is gone. Even a hip pain that I have had for 3 years. The worst is behind and now it’s weaning off of the narcotics and rebuilding strength. The nerve pain is now tolerable as they create new pathways. All glory to God!! I think I shall follow Anne Graham Lotz suggestion of going into every room of the house and singing praise to God for He inhabits the praises of His people.

Ephesians 2:19-22 was in our Bible study today. All believers are building a living temple with Jesus as our cornerstone and a dwelling place for God. We are that temple that was destroyed. We are the temple of the living God.

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Hugs, Elaine! ❤

Rebuilding is a multi stage process. I am so touched by what Bailey shared so intimately. Praying for you sweet girl as you rebuild your, that grace and favours be yours. It is indeed a long process. A few days ago a she was sharing there’s a difference between building and rebuilding. That caught my attention. Building is creating something from scratch, there is freedom to plan, design, imagine, lay a foundation without obstacles from the past. Rebuilding is restoring something that already existed but collapsed and damaged. It requires not only building a new but also undoing or overcoming the brokenness of the past. Dealing with ruins is hard. There are scars of past destructions and doubts. Will it fall again? Is it worth it? Is there enough resources? Rebuilding is always the opportunity for growth. Rebuilding needs deeper faith. The identity of God’s people being the Redeemed spoke to me. That’s how God rebuilds us. We are such broken cities. His Spirit comes in, one by one, He removes each thorn of pride, demolish each brick from the foundation of selfishness, removing idols, and lay a brick of holiness and righteousness in us. How can one restore without knowing what its identity once was? It is so wise for Nehemiah to reconnect with the Source for clarity. Praying for you sisters. Be blessed.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

      Amen, so good!

  30. Ada McCloud says:

Careful study and assessment of what is broken is key! So many areas are broken for me, but rebuilding one will get the ball rolling!

  31. Wendi Kemper says:

I really love the end of this passage, where the foreigners of the land are mocking and jeering at the people. Nehemiah’s response is calm, bold and faithful, not to combat the doubters but to uphold the faithful doing God’s work. Nehemiah’s leadership in this passage is inspiring!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, that’s good! We should do that!

  32. TJ says:

As I contemplate today’s reading, I am struck by the overwhelming amount of rubble/destruction of the destroyed walls in my situation & the people involved. Before there can be a brick by brick rebuild, there has to be a clearing away of the rubble. The devastation is so great & while there are small pea sized gravel pieces, there are also boulders… massive pieces of rubble that I cannot budge, let alone move. I am leaning in to the Lord to have my hands & heart strengthened by Him for the work, but HOW do you work to build a new wall, brick by brick AROUND a situation & its people & not BETWEEN it’s inhabitants? Especially when great trust is lost. How do you rebuild to protect everyone while still needing to protect yourself?

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Wonderful reflection and questions. All I know is that we seek the Lord and trust.

  33. Sabrina Marcum says:

Needed this today, AMEN!! I may have more thoughts after I chew on this, but praise God for always seeing our needs!

  34. Kristy says:

I did not have time to do my bible before work this morning, on my way in I was praying and thanking God that one day he will make all things right. I sat down at my desk to do today’s reading and in my SRT bible it says this.
When Nehemiah heard that the wall around Jerusalem had been destroyed, he grieved deeply. If you’ve experienced deep grief, you know it can happen this way. One look, or smell, or sentence can force all the agony to erupt at once. Nehemiah was weeping for all the loss, all the sorrow, all the shame. He longed for the wall to be restored, yes, but he was really dreaming of the day his people would be restored to their home. But why rebuild a wall around a broken city? Because you have to start somewhere. Nehemiah led his people in rebuilding the wall so that they would remember that God’s anger would not burn forever, that He would restore his people, that He would keep His covenant. Brick by brick, Nehemiah and the people of Israel rebuilt Jerusalem on the foundation of God’s promises, not their own experiences. They were learning to see beyond a broken wall, trusting God and looking to a time when ALL would be set right.
Sometimes, faith means looking past the landscape of destruction around us to the restoration God has promised on the horizon. Let’s find comfort in the FIRM foundation of our faithful God.

Thanks for sharing that, Kristy! ❤

  36. Kelsi Leo says:

“So, then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens…with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. …In him you are also being built together for Gods dwelling in the spirit” what a perfect reminder that at the end of the day we are all human. Love and humanity connect us all and we can begin to rebuild together. We need to look at things for what they are and move forward together to build better and love each other for our humanness. The way Jesus loves us all.

  38. Courtney says:

Bailey, thank you so much for sharing your story! I can totally relate as I have been unemployed for about a year, with two kids in college and an elderly mother (who lives with me) to support. But like you, I have been graced with God’s provision every step of this very challenging journey.
The scripture reading from Isaiah 62: 10-12 really resonated with me:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
    “Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
    and his recompense before him.”
12 And they shall be called The Holy People,
    The Redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
    A City Not Forsaken.

Believe today that you will be sought out and that you are not forsaken, my sister! God is with us!

  39. Ashley M. says:

I discovered 3 truths reading the scripture today and I added the verses with each point.

Nehemiah faced reality – He inspected the walls at night and saw the damage for what it was (vv. 12–15). Rebuilding in our lives begins with honest evaluation—naming the broken areas without excuses.

He relied on God’s favor – Nehemiah’s courage came from knowing “the gracious hand of my God was on me” (v. 18). When we rebuild, we don’t do it in our own strength but in God’s power.

He resisted opposition – When mocked, Nehemiah responded with faith: “The God of heaven will give us success” (v. 20). We too will face doubt—both from others and from within—but God’s promises anchor us to keep building

    1. Nancy Davis says:

Your 3 truths are eye opening. Thank you for that wisdom. My oldest daughter and I are not in a good space right now. Your 3 truths are helpful.

    2. Mercy says:

I love systematic thinking, thank you.

    3. Cee Gee says:

      Beautifully stated, Ashley! ❤

    4. DW says:

Late as I have been traveling but these 3 points are so good.

  40. Caitlyn Mae Wagner says:

I loved what was said about our partnership with God. Nehemiah wasn’t just on a personal mission or rebellion against the king. He had them both backing him up, supporting him. When our authority came from God, nothing can overcome the work He has for us!

  41. Tanya says:

3 in Judaism. There third day is repeatedly highlighted as a moment of revelation, transformation or fulfillment.
” After I arrived in Jerusalem and had been there three days..”

The third day is a time of recovery and spritual rebirth.

    1. Mercy says:

      Love this! Thank you Tanya.

    2. Adrienne says:

I didn’t catch the reference to “three days”. That comes up often, and I especially noticed it in the OT study we did recently… When Abraham was going to sacrifice… there was a reference there to three days, and I tied it to Christ’s rising after three days. I know there are many other references. I am going to look for that everywhere in the Bible now! ❤️

  42. Cee Gee says:

What stood out to me today:
The enemy is always one step ahead of us but what God has authorized is not his domain. When wr face opposition we need to remember Whose team er are on and persevere with His guidance strength, and protection.
. MacArthur says it better than I:
“Not only did Nehemiah have the king’s permission and was not rebelling, but he had God’s protection. Those enemies who tried to intimidate against the work had neither, since they were not commissioned by God or the king.”
    .
When the enemy attacks, let’s stamp it:
    “NOT COMMISSIONED by God!”
    and move on.
    .
    Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤

    1. Kristy says:

      Stamp it! I love that!

Reminds me of a the chorus in a song by Emerson Day…
      .
Devil, get behind me, run on home
Back to the grave where you belong
In case you forgot, let me tell you the truth
You’re stuck under my blood-bought boots

      1. Cee Gee says:

Rebuilding is not easy. On the podcast, they talked about the difficulties they had because of the rubble! Sometimes we have to clear out the rubble to effectively rebuild in our lives.

Ephesians 2:22 “In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit”

This hit me in the sweetest way. Even in our difficulties, God is building us into what He desires for us!

From YouVersion today: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
    https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.12.2.NIV

Transformation happens from the inside out. It begins with our minds. And we need the Truth to grab hold of when we are rebuilding! Stay in the Word.

Thank you for praying for my back. Please continue praying. I can move better today but it still catches when I get up. But can move better without looking like “an old granny” even though I am!

    1. crissy hunter says:

You are spot on. Thank you for the reminder that some times we need to clear out the rubble. I’m in the thick of rubble and it’s hard to move in it. Amen.

As I went deeper, I again was reminded of Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not a mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
Nehemiah continually pointed the people to God

  46. Wendy B says:

The first few days of this plan have been incredibly challenging and also encouraging. Nehemiah’s faithful, godly, wise, humble
example is so obvious and one to look to.

These words from the devotional stand out to me….”Our strength flows from Him. If our lives are rooted in the foundation of His love, we can trust everything to find its place from there.”

I(we) are not on our own as we look to rebuild the things that have fallen in our lives. His hand is right there with us and we can trust Him. Life as I knew it came to a screeching halt in my health crisis/cancer journey and every part of who I was, was altered. My faith and walk with the Lord, did not falter; He was/is my foundation and I have grown in so many ways and seek to still move forward in that – I still have so much to learn and continually want more of Jesus in my life. But, I long to get back, to rebuild all the rest – physically, emotionally, relationally, cognitively. On the surface, those who know me may see the reminder of who I am but it stops there. I look in the mirror and can hardly recognize myself, and its so discouraging and frustrating. I do not forget the miracles God did in my life, how He rescued me and healed me from the brink of deaths door and all my praise is to Him and the powerful work of His hand. Without question, we can’t go through life altering situations and circumstances without being refined and changed and that can be a good thing. I do see that in my life as far as my faith goes, bit everything else has stalled and I feel as if I’m just spinning my wheels and can’t get anywhere, struggling in every other way. I am trusting and praying the rest will come, but goodness, rebuilding is not for the faint of heart. He is my strength and I trust Him. I just had a 6 month scan on Monday, and am praying for first, a miracle and no signs of cancer and if not that, stable with no further metastasis or growth. My God can.

It was so encouraging to read through the comments the last couple days and hear so many share of a desire to grow in faith. So thankful for this space where we can grow together. And, praying for the many needs and struggles that are shared as we all seek more of Jesus and His hand of strength to rebuild, move forward, look to Him for hope, restoration, healing, direction, courage and wisdom.❤️

    1. Cee Gee says:

“…rebuilding is not for the faint of heart. He is my strength and I trust Him.” ❤❤❤
      .
Wendy, I pray the scans are read and interpreted accurately and that you will hear your desired result! ❤

    2. Kristy says:

This was so beautifully put, I appreciate your authenticity. Praying for good news and praying that you will begin to see healing in all areas of your life.

    3. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

I pray your scans bring good news

  47. Julia C says:

    Today’s observations from Nehemiah:
    – He waits (and prays some more?) for three days.
    – He goes quietly (only with a few men), with caution (in the night) and humbly (without telling anyone his plans).
    – He inspects the walls and sees the need.
    – He comes with a diagnosis: plain and clear, without blaming.
    – He calls for action, telling the people what God had already done.
    – He frames the mission not as a human project but as God’s work.
    – The people respond positively, not because of Nehemiah’s charisma, but because of their renewed confidence that God was at work.

Like Nehemiah, we are called to see the brokenness around us – not to despair, but to believe that God can bring renewal. May we wait for the Lord and pray. May we discern wisely and speak at the right time. May we work faithfully, trusting that the God of Heaven will give us success.

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Amen, Julia. ❤

    2. Mercy says:

Welcome back Julia ❤️ you were missed.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

        Yes, you were Julia!

    3. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

Wonderful summary. And roadmap to follow.

  48. Liz E. says:

This! After a year of a caretaker for a parent, I was unemployed from January until 3 weeks ago. All the while God provided for me and I learned how to graciously receive help from the kindness of others. Now, 3 weeks into a new job the only thing I can think about is rebuilding, bouncing back, getting myself together. It’s hard not to want change immediately after that. I’m faithful that God will

  49. Rhonda J. says:

Again we see Nehemiah walking in step with the Lord. He is not hasty, he has self-control and prays and listens to God. We have to be deliberate and sensitive to the Spirit. It means being still and choosing to hear rather than being abrupt and foolish in our moves. God will speak to our heart and give us discernment, but this takes time to build this trusting relationship. We have to be submissive in his will, and do it then. Our ways have to line with his way- and then we rebuild stronger, and often times it will look different than what we thought would come about!! Oh when we are older how interesting it is to look back at our lives. Where ruin came about, the rebuilding, where we relied on God and it was good, and where we went the opposite and we see how it wasn’t good!

I ask prayers for a dear Butterfly N that got released and now starts the rebuilding process! Pray that she will stay close to God and will find success in her steps! It will be hard, but God will restore and rebuild in his way and it will be good. Give her strength Lord, give her boldness in you sharing what you have done for her, how you were the light in the dark! Give her ears to hear your words and direction. Give her eyes to see your blessings and beauty in renewed freedom! Surround her with love, and a new church home! Thank you Jesus that she came into our group that day!!

Praying for your requests dear She’s! I love all the new commenters!

I needed this devotional today! It’s comforting to know that others are in a rebuilding process. I’ve been feeling incredibly thankful for this new place to call home while also being overwhelmed by the expenses! God will provide. He always does! He will open the door to a new job opportunity. I just have to trust Him in the process!

Update on my husband:all the corn toxins are gone! Amen. I love this morning’s challenge about rebuilding in the midst of all the outside drama. Nehemiah kept his eyes on God. We need to focus on the task ahead . It’s stressful listening to the news, and i only listen to national news about once a week…I listen to weather of course, and check out my precious red sox,and patriots scores, but will not get caught up in the news cycle. I’m on God’s timing .

    1. Cee Gee says:

❤Praise God! Thanks for the update, Sandi. ❤

Happy for the answered prayers and good news for your husband.

  52. Norma Nashold says:

Amen, how God gives us the joy of stepping out in faith to do His will, I love how Nehemiah took time to seek God, then took time to really see the situation and then he revealed God’s plan, Nehemiah continually pointed to God. Oh, that these truths would adhere to my heart and may the rebuilding continue.

    1. B says:

“Oh, that these truths would adhere to my heart…” Amen!!
      Love that verbiage❤️

I love the reminder that God’s gracious hand on Nehemiah gave strength to the people’s hands. In other words, when God blesses one person, that blessing becomes a conduit to encourage and empower others. May we celebrate the evidence of God’s gracious hand at work in the lives of those around us!

A damage assessment/unbiased observation before presenting to the people.
Boldly declaring his faith in God.
    .
A measured approach – rather than acting without thought or prayer – as we consider the areas in our lives that need to be rebuilt, a ongoing process in numerous areas at different stages.
Same with our faith as it is challenged in various ways and then strengthened as we seek God and He rebuilds. I think of times when life seemed to be in shambles and I was hanging on to my faith by a few thin threads. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep praying, keep seeking His wisdom, mercy, grace, guidance.

Love the church sign saying from a couple weeks ago! How true that sentiment is. My friend Hannah, Seth’s sister said they received another DoorDash gift card & they think it was from you. They wanted me to pass along their thanks! Seth is continuing to make improvements. He had a little setback last week & are waiting for some test results, but I received a video yesterday where he was driving his own motorized chair. That is huge!! Thank you for the prayers. God is faithful!

And I love those words… “measured approach”. How often do I rush in and not take a measured approach? I do that more than I should!

  60. Jess Hyatt says:

It’s so hard to start over sometimes in life. We have worked so hard to get to where we were and to watch it crumble is so defeating.
I recently felt God calling me to leave my dream job, I was obedient but it was scary. An opportunity came open with a local company and they matched my previous salary. The position seemed to have a lot of potential for future growth and stability. I’ve been there a month and now that I’m inside the company it’s chaos. There is no structure, process or procedure. The stability that I thought was there only exists due to the fact there is so much that needs to be put in order and “rebuilt”. So, reading this does bring me comfort. I know the group of us that have been brought in, have the ability to rebuild, to make this stronger and better. God will guide us as we navigate the ins and outs of this process. God didn’t place me in this position at this exact time by accident. I’m trusting Him through the process.

    1. Sandi says:

I think the chaos in today’s workplace. My husband has found that our, after returning to the workplace after owning his own business for 20 years.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

My husband as well! In his business he usually worked alone or one other guy/friend now he has a team and at a busy airport. He comes home often tired and grumpy now! He only has a couple years till retirement, he is ready! lol.

  64. Danielle B says:

A couple things stood out to me this morning as I finished the reading. The first to rebuild means you had something to start. Nehemiah was planning to rebuild a wall and a city that was previously there. He is not building from scratch but fixing. What in our lives is already established, but damaged and needs fixed. Second in my own journey I’ve been in a season of rebuilding since my surgery six months ago. The joy in this season (thank you Tina) is I’m rebuilding not what was but to where God wants me to be, surrendered and fully trusting His next steps. I get frustrated sometimes as I am sure we will see in the Israelites in coming days do, but remind myself, I get to rebuild. I’m here and I can rebuild.

    1. Kristy says:

This made me cry. Such perspective and exactly where I am at. I am here and I get to rebuild. So encouraging, thank you for sharing. Surrender, surrender, surrender, I am learning it is the perfect place to be.

  66. Kelly (NEO) says:

Loved this: “as we rebuild the beliefs, relationships, and resources in our lives, God partners with us. We aren’t alone. Our strength flows from Him. If our lives are rooted in the foundation of His love, we can trust everything to find its place from there.”
    .
Strengthen not only my hands, Lord, but also my resolve to do what You have called me to do.
    .
LAUREN M – praying God strengthens you in your health struggles.

things that are higher, things that are nobler,
      these have allured my sight.

The Lord has been so faithful to give grace for the rebuilding. Thank you for remembering. It means a lot!

  69. Tina says:

As I read about the process involved in the rebuilding of Nehemiah’s beloved Jerusalem, I was reminded of the Japanese art of Kintsugi.. which means golden repair!
This then took me on the memory journey of waiting for joy, having found the ornaments HOPE and LOVE in silver, I wanted to have my three favourite words the same colour..
Life, for sure throws us lemons, some bitter, some beautifully shiny with a fragrance you want to inhale for a while, whilst the undertone of this beauty is sour, sharp, not pleasant to taste. Here’s the thing, as I always say, or at least have said on occasion, what delicious lemonade we can make when we hold fast to God’s hand and His Word, for His promises are forever true..
    .
Rebuilding is a constant in all lives, from adjustments to schooling, to life changes, to the unexpected, or even expected. It’s how we embrace the change, so we can rebuild, renew, restructure, redeem, readjust, realign, regroup, rectify, re-fashion, reconnect, resolve, regroup, remember!
By and in His grace, GOD, is ever present in our falls, our broken, and our rising again, He spurs us on as we hold fast to Him in our rebuilding, no matter how big or small the hope, the dream, He walks with us Always to heal and restore what is broken within and with out!❤
He holds the whole world in His hand!
    .
This brings me back to waiting for joy.. God had other plans, I returned weekly, hopeful to find the joy I wanted.. only to find it in gold each time. I rejected it each time, as it did not match the other two, until I heard God say He wanted me to have joy for certain, but, in GOLDEN JOY!!
We can never rebuild to what was, but we can rebuild what is broken into a new beauty with God’s help and covered in His gift of GOLDEN JOY!!
    .
    BUT GOD.
    .
    Amen.
    .
Much love to all, covered in prayers requested or as felt to pray.. And wrapped in hugs..❤
