Preparing for the Mission Field

Open Your Bible

Acts 13:1-52, Isaiah 49:6, Galatians 2:15-21

In the second grade, I completed a timeline assignment about my little life, complete with projections for the future. I wanted to be a “mom, teacher, and an actress at night.” With a degree in education and three kids who call me Mom, I like to say that two out of three ain’t bad.

After graduating from college, I moved to Chihuahua, Mexico, certain I was the next Mother Teresa, loving the vulnerable. Where did the Lord choose to humble my heart? In a classroom full of missionary children who knew the Bible better than me. When I left the classroom after six years of teaching, I transitioned to vocational ministry. Where did the Lord lead me? To become a ministry leader? No, I became the executive administrative assistant at our church—a hidden role yet vital to those leading on the frontlines. After becoming a mother, first through foster care and then through biology, the Lord graciously allowed me to become a stay-at-home mom. For years, however, I sought other places of service outside of motherhood—all good things yet not always out of my obedience to Him.

Paul and Barnabas were two key players in the New Testament church. These men were respected and loved yet persecuted because their life’s mission was to exalt the name of Jesus, no matter the cost. Paul wrote in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” If anyone had the right to boast about his accomplishments, it was Paul. His Hebrew pedigree was lengthy. Yet he counted it all as a loss in comparison to life with Christ (Philippians 3:8–10). Barnabas, known as the “son of encouragement,” also loved Jesus and was Paul’s ministry partner (Acts 4:36).

Neither of these men boasted in their own strength. They did everything through the power of the Holy Spirit. Before Barnabas and Paul went to the mission field, they fasted, prayed, and received prayer from other believers in their community (Acts 13:3). God sent them to share the good news with the Jews and then the Gentiles. Their equipping came from Christ alone.

Recently, the Lord led our family to begin a homeschooling journey, a choice I said I would never make. Yes, I have a teaching degree. But what qualifies me for the work God has called me to is not my degree. It is Christ within me. I wanted to do big things for God. To me, big things meant public work—noticed and applauded by others. But the work of Christ is often hidden and unseen. What matters most is not what we do for Him but rather what we do with Him.

Friend, a mission field is not always tucked away in a remote village. Your mission field is the daily ground on which you walk—your home, your workplace, your neighborhood. It is here where God wants to meet you, work through you, and speak to you. Will you join Him?

Lord, I ask that you open the eyes of Clara Paige and Anna to see You in everything and in everyone. Lord, that they may see and feel the real You. Not just the noises at church or from me. But that their eyes and heart and mind may KNOW it is You. And that You are the only One to fill their emptiness and give them hope and joy, love and peace. In Your Name I ask, Amen

Love the scripture reading today and this devotional Jessica! Very much needed, thank you for your obedience and reminder that our mission field is wherever we are at❤️

Even as a retiree – I remember trying to do it all – working full time , kids in lots of school activities, and keeping myself involved in church, in His word. It was not easy – but He walked beside me every single day. God is so good.

I loved this devotional today! I too am a stay at home mom and sometimes the work I do feels so invisible and unimportant. This week has been especially hard with my husband working so much and more put on my plate with less sleep than usual. So often I feel like a servant in my own house, but what if that is exactly who I was meant to be. I pray that I would see this as a serving opportunity and not a burden to carry.

    1. B says:

Bless you and your service to your family!❤️

    2. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, I mentioned you in my comment! I always think of you saying you are a stay at home mom and often feels unrewarding!! But I’m betting you are making a world of difference to your husband and girls!

My Thursday post – trying again from laptop:
My attempt at a re-write [most points remembered and saved to Word this time!]
“Remind us that You have not called us to be impressive; You’ve called us to be available as witnesses to Your work. May Your Word and Your truth flourish and multiply through us. Amen.” Amen and amen, ABBY FLYNN!
    …..
We are not Peter, James, or Paul (or Barnabas as I said yesterday), but we have a place in service according to God’s call.
    …..
NKJV Enduring Word Study Bible and the NIV Application Bible both mentioned the word in v. 5 ‘constant,’ ‘earnestly,’ which translated means ‘stretched out’ and they gave the example of a person standing on tiptoes with arms/fingers reaching as high and as far as physically possible. What a way to pray! Even when I am praying ‘constantly’ for something, am I praying ‘earnestly’?
NKJV Enduring Word Study Bible went on to say:
“Often our prayer is powerless because it is not earnest. There is no stretching out in prayer. Earnest prayer has power, not because it persuades a reluctant God but because it demonstrates that our heart cares passionately about the things God cares about. This fulfills Jesus’ promise: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).”
    Warren Wiersbe:
12:5 Why was James allowed to die, while Peter was rescued? After all, both were dedicated servants of God, needed by the church. The only answer is the sovereign will of God, the very matter that Peter and the church had prayed about after their second experience of persecution (4:24–30). Many believers were praying for Peter (12:12), and they kept it up day and night for a week.
12:8 God alone can do the extraordinary, but His people must do the ordinary. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, people had to roll the stone from the tomb. The same angel that removed the chains from Peter’s hands could have put the shoes on Peter’s feet, but He told Peter to do it. God never wastes miracles.
    …..
These are the commentaries that fueled my earlier comment. Wiersbe’s note on 12:8 had me pondering the reactions of Peter and the people. Peter had to know the church was praying for him, but when the chains fell off the angel had to tell him to put on his shoes. The church was so stunned Peter had to wait for them to open the door for him. As Wiersbe noted, God required some action from the parties involved. I think of that as putting feet to faith.
    …..
I asked, “What chains are holding us/me back from service to God?

One more thing: as I was trying to recall my original wording, this thought came to me re: Peter sleeping while jailed.
This was the eve of his being put to death. I remembered Jesus asking Peter to be one of the ones to pray for Him on the eve of His crucifixion. Matthew 26:36-46 gives the full account.
These verses are a chilling parallel:
37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Good morning Shes! Would you please pray for my neice, Harper, and her parents? She is 2.5 years old and started experiencing Bells Palsy and foot drop yesterday in the middle of the day. Since then, they have been admitted to the neuro wing of the children’s hospital and she has undergone numerous tests. So far, no conclusive results that explain the symptoms, but a brain abnormality was found as well. Please pray for wisdom and clarity for the many doctors that they are seeing, and for peace and rest in the Lord for her and my sister and brother-in-law as they wait.

  10. Kristy says:

The theme in my heart after reading each day is Lord increase my faith. You are this same God. He wants to use us like He used Barnabas and Saul, I think my lack of faith keeps me from praying for big things. I keep my God who has the power to blind people for His glory in a box. He is this same God. Lord would you do this in our country, increase my faith to believe you can still do these things. Astonish the world with your power, lead us out of the darkness that our world is so corrupted by, free us of the division, WITH YOUR MIGHTY ARM! I can’t help but notice that Barnabas and Saul are the ones that were set apart for the work to which Holy Spirit called them. Why not Simeon, or Manaen? I don’t want to miss what God has for me. 13:26 Brothers and Sisters, children of Abraham’s race, and those among you who fear God, *it is to US that the word of this salvation has been sent.* v. 32-33 And we ourselves proclaim to you the good news of the promise that was made to our ancestors. God has fulfilled this FOR US, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written. v. 36 For David, after serving God’s purpose in his own generation… whew!! I don’t want my lack of faith to keep me from my purpose in my generation. I don’t want to settle. I want to believe and trust God for big things, that he would blind the eyes of those pushing darkness in our generation, that he would open their eyes, but also open the Church’s eyes to His power, He is the same God that changed things through Daniel, He is the same God that changed things when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown in the fire. He is the same God today in our world that feels like it is drowning in darkness. We all have a purpose in this generation, justified by faith in Jesus Christ so that we might live for God. We live by faith in the Son of God who loved us and gave himself for us. May our prayers be bigger and bolder because we believe that He can do more than we ask think or imagine. May we have the imagination of a child that HE CAN DO IT! May light drown out the darkness, use us Holy Spirit, send us Holy Spirit, fill us Holy Spirit. So that when they see what happened, they believe because they are astonished at the teaching of the Lord. 13:12

    1. Rhonda J. says:

YES!! A-Men!! I am glad you are back regularly posting, for I always love your comments!! I had never known Holy Spirit fire, Infilling, over flowing, invigorating, and convicting and confirming POWER until the last few years; after all I did grow up in a conservative Methodist church where even our singing was monotoned!! (except me, the kid in the back singing the harmonies, not good!)
But I have felt the real power and it is AMAZING!! Acts tells us the power is in the Holy Spirit, leading us, filling us, giving us boldness and courage–and it is still for us today!! I would love to share just yesterday what happened in a new way!! One of my ladies in my older group called me to learn more about this journaling I’m always pushing (lol), but then she said …can I share something with you —and as she is saying this, I’m sitting on my floor and my whole toro just bristles up!! Like, majorly, a physical…what is happening?!! Then she tells me her and her daughter had a horrible “feeling” over her granddaughter’s substitute male bus driver. And her granddaughter confirmed she and the other young kids didn’t like him. As she is saying this my body feels like tiny barbs all in me saying Bad or evil. She said “was it wrong that her and her daughter prayed against him? (judging him on appearance) but yet listening to the Holy Spirit! I immediately confirmed she was right in her feeling. She hadn’t seen that driver in the last week.
This morning she text me and said that she talked to the New bus driver this morning and she confirmed she is now the on duty bus driver, a sweet nice woman!! Praise God.

      1. Kristy says:

Thank you Rhonda for your kind words. Acts has been really firing me up. I just had a conversation with my husband and I got all rowed up again. I grew up in a Baptist church very similar to what you shared. The monotone voices made me chuckle. Rarely talked about the Holy Spirit, it is so mind blowing isn’t it. Your story is powerful, Holy Spirit speaks to us, He is our friend that is better than Jesus walking with us in the flesh.. ( never will get over that verse). Praising God with you for discernment!!

  11. Rhonda J. says:

This sentence resonated with me as many of you What matters most is not what we do for Him but rather what we do with Him.” But a little differently because I share it a lot with my groups, or anyone that will listen- That I love giving and sharing but went through a spell where I just couldn’t seem to find a way to volunteer or serve! I kept praying “what can I DO Lord FOR you?” And not really realizing it in the moment…but he said “you want to DO for me, but you don’t want to BE with me.” You don’t even know me.
Being raised as a Christian, we do think we know him because we have heard about him in church all of our lives, but I was in my 40’s and had never read the Bible from cover to cover, studied books of it alone, nor meditated on it. I had never spend time to hear God speaking to me through his word. I had never spent time reading through the whole of the old testament of God’s character, truth, love, judgement and have him put in my heart in a fresh new way. The Bible is our connection, manual, relationship with God. We have to understand it, and keep having new revelation over and over to be sanctified in our journey with God!
So yes, it was a turning point of doing for God, and now WITH GOD!! With not only knowing Jesus is my Savior, but that he is Lord of my life! There’s a big distinction. And I am so blessed that SRT has been the foundation, after that first read through on my own in a daily study bible in a year, everyday of being in the word!!
With God, he leads us to do what he intends us to do!! And I can attest…HIS WAYS are way better than we can imagine for ourselves!! He puts us where we need to be if we align our will with his!! Whether it is cleaning his house (Wendy), working in homeless serving (Tina), a Pastor’s wife (Sharon), a mom (Jennifer), teachers (Tami)….or a job that doesn’t seem to be for him, IT IS!! Just sharing your wisdom here daily (Searching and CeeGee)IS helping other She’s learn and grow! That is ministering!! (heart!) Poetry(Kimberly) speaks to people differently!!

When we align with HIM he does amazing things!! But we must know the old testament like Paul, or the Messiah predicted isn’t the finisher of the story, if they don’t believe!! I think it’s imperative to know our Bible to be purposeful at disciples and ministers to tell and share!! Not in the sense of scholars…but the more you study it, you will be amazed how your refer to so much in the old testament as Paul does!! It matters. Just like our past matters for our testimonies! We can’t just say…I’m good because of Jesus. I mean, we can- But…what did he save us from? What has changed in us? Why does it matter? More than our end destination, but how we live until then…!!! He changes how we live and love, but what is the alternative? The judgment on sin is imperative to know. And that the LAW couldn’t save us, it pointed to the ONE who can, only through faith! We cherish Jesus MORE when we know what he saved us from!
Once I was in the word for over 7 years, daily, reading because it became more and more amazing every year–THEN, God said, my daughter you have been faithful, and now I am ready to use you even more! It wasn’t that he wasn’t using me during– raising my son to know God, Christian music always playing, choosing truth over lies, influencing my new husband to put God clearly in the day to day, and leading my family to church every Sunday (to name some)!
Just like the devotional said, we just don’t know the path our lives will take, BUT GOD, he does want to use us for his purposes and his Glory!! And I am so thankful for that!!

haha (heart)! A friend that is joining us here just said yesterday to another friend that everyone knows me on here. And I told her that I never wanted to comment the first couple of years even though faithfully reading along. I knew I didn’t have any wisdom to add to the scriptures like Churchmouse and ERB——— and others BUT we all have takeaways from the reading and devotionals! And can tell what resonated with us, and I guarantee someone will relate! If only 1, and I annoy everyone else- well, for the one to be blessed or seen! lol. And now after being in his word faithfully he has removed shield after shield from my eyes. He has given to the asking and seeking!

This devotional resonates with me. When we were first married we discussed and prayed about me being a stay at home mom. The hubby wanted to be secure in his work, he wanted us to have a house. 9 years later while in church the Lord spoke to me and said, “You need to quit your job”. I went to the altar and kneeled and prayed. “Lord, I’m scared but if that is what you want, I will do it.” He has shown us many times that He is in control. We had our first child the next year. We had the privilege of helping to care for my dad, his dad, his mom and then finally my mom all while raising our 2 sons. If I was working I would’ve missed out on many blessings. Being a stay at home mom is not for everyone and the Lord will show you your path. “In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your oaths straight.” Proverbs 3:6

    1. Cee Gee says:

Well said, Leanna! Former stay at home mom here! ❤

  13. Wendy B says:

The faithful witness and words of these men is such an example. They are humbly obedient in speaking Truth and explaining how from the beginning it was God’s plan to bring a Savior. Just going about their day and living out their faith despite knowing that there was danger in doing so.
I have a bit of a behind the scenes job at church and for almost 23 years been a custodian. It is an incredible honor to serve in such a way. Many don’t see what I do, but if the floors didn’t get washed, the toilets cleaned and paper refilled or the chairs set up, people would notice – ha, ha. Its a role I’m happy to serve in so that our church is a clean, welcoming and ready to receive anyone who walks in the door. Its sets the tone for others to feel at home and where they can learn about the love of Jesus. Its not a glamorous job, kind of blah at times, but countless times i am reminded how I am just a part of all working together to better allow the church as a whole to be ready to display, speak, teach and love out the message of the Gospel. I love this from the devotional, “But the work of Christ is often hidden and unseen. What matters most is not what we do for Him but rather what we do with Him.” My hearts desire is to walk alongside Him,to be used by Him, in whatever way He calls me too – even if its scrubbing toilets at church :)

Update on my inlaws – thank you for asking Kelly. They are both still in hospital, MIL is improving faster. About 1 week ago my FIL finally turned a corner for the better and he is slowly improving. They will no longer be able to live on their own in their home – this is a hard reality for them. We are just finalizing arrangements to have MIL moved to a more independent living care facility, hopefully by later next week. FIL will require more care and so the challenge will be getting a space for him ideally in the same care facility but it would be a different building. We praise the Lord for the healing that has taken place and are trusting in His leading for the next steps of huge transition and big changes that are coming. Thank you for praying ❤️

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Wow (your in-laws), what a hard thing- to be living normally, then, it all changes in an instant. Praying for your MIL to accept these changes and to focus on what is best for them, and her husband specifically.

I am sure you ARE appreciated so much in your church community!!

      1. Wendy B says:

        Thank you so much Rhonda.

Yes, it is such a hard, abrupt change for sure. However, they are 90 years old and a move has been long overdue and we have been trying to get them to move for a few years so they could have had a say and be part of such a big decision. Having an emergency and crisis happen makes it all the more difficult when they had previously resisted is all the more challenging and it feels yucky. This circumstance although shocking, and heavy is no surprise to the Lord and He is near, making a way in all the details.❤️

    2. Cee Gee says:

Wendy, your job may be unseen but that does not negate its importance as you stated so beautifully. I share my thanks with our custodian whenever I can. I think it’s important to be her encourager. She’s been in that role for over 40 years and is so faithful as I know you are. ❤ Thank you for your behind the scenes service and for sharing here so often!
Prayers for your inlaws with this abrupt life change! ❤

      1. Wendy B says:

Thank you so much Cee Gee. Fun fact, my MIL was the custodian for 40 years prior to me taking over her role. And, growing up, my Grandma was the custodian at church and as a little girl I helped her often :)

        1. Cee Gee says:

That’s such a sweet history! Thanks for sharing that! ❤☺❤

    3. Maria J says:

Praying for your in-laws for continued healing and recovery. Lord, we ask for wisdom, patience and discernment for Wendy and her husband in regards to the changes and decisions they must make.

      1. Wendy B says:

        Maria, thank you so much❤️

  14. Sharon Jeresey Girl says:

“Before Barnabas and Paul went to the mission field, they fasted, prayed, and received prayer from other believers in their community.”
    .
I really believe the one thing missing in our churches today is corporate prayer – the physical coming together of the body of believers to pray – together, in one spirit.
    .
My church is guilty of this very thing and I’ve heard of many others that are the same. We have been ministering at our church for 32+ years. In all that time I think the most we ever had a prayer meeting was 5-8 people, with the one exception of 9/11.
    .
I am so saddened that no matter what we try – people just do not come out…I truly believe that if we came together and prayed together, we would see the kinds of prayers answered that are exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think!
    .
I think it is wonderful that we are all praying for the prodigals represented here. There is power in prayer and there is power in numbers! May God begin bringing them back one by one!!

    Happy Friday She’s!

    2. Rhonda J. says:

Our church has been such an amazing example of Prioritizing Prayer!! With as many prayer partners at the altar as they can get, to seeing pastors and members praying regularly out in the lobby in spontaneous prayers, to having people pray over me immediately if they see my in obvious pain or I say I have any issues in my life (lol)…it’s right to prayer!! I found this amazing in the beginning and made me want to step up my own prayer game (as you all know!!) We regularly have prayer and worship night now with lots of time for praying for our nation and churches. And then we fast and pray twice a year as a congregation. It is powerful!!

I have prayed for you and your church for a couple of years now when I think of it Sharon, because I know it is your heart!! I know God sees your faithfulness and steadfast dedication to it!! I remember when you thought you might move, BUT GOD- he kept you there for a reason! I pray your Prayer Effort will RISE in a BIG WAY this year!! That the Holy Spirit will show off in a POWERFUL way to your congregation!!

  15. Cheryl Blow says:

I really think if we could see the impact we have on others, we wouldn’t get so down on ourselves. But God wants us to obey His leading and trust Him for the outcome. Some plant, some water, some pull weeds, some reap the harvest.

Praying for all and for safety for everyone this weekend!

    1. Cee Gee says:

Well said! ❤ Joining in prayers for safety!

  16. Melissa Vandiver says:

While we are active in the church, I find those I have the biggest impact on are those in my community, a family down the street, my fellow baseball moms, and my family (the biggest one). This is my mission field. Burnout is a real thing, I need to find my strength from him.

As a “retired” homeschooler I could really relate to this. I often struggle with feeling “less than” because of my lack of education. After our family tragedy and relocation, I worked at a local public school for a year. Then God convicted me that as a mother of a young man with Down Syndrome, my husband getting older and my own chronic health issues, that my focus needs to be on my family and health. Also my second grandchild is on the way. It is a quiet and unseen ministry but I am at peace that this is where I need to be now and I hace to trust God with my anxieties.

Paul reminds this crowd that, as Jewish people, how God provided, protected and loved them over and over throughout their history. They didn’t want to acknowledge and believe the truth of Christ and didn’t want anyone else to either – “filled with envy” over the Gentiles wanting and receiving something the Jews had turned down and discarded.

Praying for the lost and the prodigals, for all who don’t know Jesus as Savior, for those suffering unimaginably from the weight and challenges of mental illnesses. Praying the Lord will vanquish the evil that is blocking the path to Him for these loved ones, that hope in Christ will be revealed to all.

    1. Cee Gee says:

      V. 46 “Paul and Barnabas boldly replied, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.”
      .
That jumped off the page when I read it.
‘JUDGE YOURSELVES UNWORTHY of ETERNAL LIFE’- I thought immediately of the prodigals and those who just choose not to hear.
Agreeing with your prayer, sister! ❤

  22. Heidi says:

I’m in the middle of getting kids up/ready to take to school but wanted to “stop in” quickly for a PRAYER REQUEST on behalf of my almost-14-y/o: the past couple of years she has really found a love of drama and tried out this week for the part of Juliet in their spring play. She’s had great side parts, even some fun narrator roles, but never a full-on lead before. I’m so proud of her for just taking the risk in the first place because her personality is more “play it safe”. She was talking about being nervous last night because the cast list will come out at school today, so I prayed with her and taught her how to pray for grace, kindness and humility and times of criticism and grace, kindness and humility and times of being praised. I’m trying so hard to emphasize the growth of character is the greatest outcome of any challenge she faces. *AND* Yall I’m her mom and my own heart is shaking with the thought of her coming home hurt and disappointed if she didn’t get it… Like many of us, she attaches her worth to areas of acceptance. Another topic we’ve been praying through and trying hard to fight with the truth of her worth and value being tied to her loving King. She’s almost 14- it all comes with the territory, I know and remember for myself! IF you think of it today, if you would, please pray for her heart and mind to be so guarded in Jesus that whatever the outcome of that list today, her heart can celebrate and handle either hurt or reward with grace and truth. —thank you friends!!!!! I’ll be back in here later to actually study Acts lol :)

Praying, Heidi, the teen years can be so painful – I remember them well all these years later. ‘Best’ friends that weren’t, being picked last or not at all, ugh.
      .
Praying your daughter will handle well whatever the list shows today and can see God’s hand in the outcome, either now or soon.

      1. Heidi says:

Praying she truly knows her identity as the daughter of the King and can rest in that, even at age 14!

    4. Cheryl Blow says:

      Prayer for both of you!

    5. Cee Gee says:

Praying right now for you and your daughter, Heidi- agreeing with you and our sisters in this! ❤ Bravo to her in overcoming the shyness and stepping out in confidence. That right there shows great strength of character and sense of worth. Those traits existed before a yes or no today!

    2. Wendy B says:

Thank you for asking Kelly. They are both still in hospital, MIL is improving faster. About 1 week ago my FIL finally turned a corner for the better and he is slowly improving. They will no longer be able to live on their own in their home.

  24. Sally B. says:

With Cee Gee, that last paragraph is a clear reminder to daily join the Lord in His work! And just like Tina’s story, we may not see for years how God is working, but as long as we are faithful to join Him, He will bring about changed lives and add souls to the kingdom!
(In the path of that storm also with Cee Gee! Praying for safety and protection for all.)
    Blessings on your weekend, Ladies!

    1. Cee Gee says:

  25. Cee Gee says:

JESSICA MATHISEN, thank you for these reminders and the encouragement you share from your testimony!
“But the work of Christ is often hidden and unseen. What matters most is not what we do for Him but rather what we do with Him.
Friend, a mission field is not always tucked away in a remote village. Your mission field is the daily ground on which you walk — your home, your workplace, your neighborhood. It is here where God wants to meet you, work through you, and speak to you. Will you join Him?”

For the second day in a row I can’t access He Reads Truth (Cloudflare issue). Hope the issue is resolved soon.
    ✨✨✨✨✨
Prepping for a dangerous ice storm threatening days without power and extremely low temps. All electric in our house so praying it isn’t as bad as forecast! Praying also for SRT and HRT staff as the front moves through Tennessee.
    ✨✨✨✨✨
Love, hugs, and prayers! Stay safe! ❤

    1. Searching says:

Same here in trying to access HRT – will email them now.
      .
Praying for safety for you and all in this approaching storm, sister.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

So, they will probably tell you it is nothing to do with them. It is a server issue, (I received it too, and last month with jail mail) and you need to unplug your modem for a minute and then once you reset, a different server comes up and solves the problem usually.

    2. Susan Burley says:

      Stay safe!!

    3. Cheryl Blow says:

CeeGee, you might try turning off your WiFi on your phone to get in HRT. I have had a similar issue with Cloudflare and that worked for me.. praying for all in the path of this huge storm.

    4. Cee Gee says:

Thanks, sisters, for all the tips! I have only attempted HRT on my Kindle. I attempted my comment on Kindle and laptop, shut them down, rebooted, etc. Weird!
      Thank for the prayers! ❤❤❤

    5. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Also praying for everyone’s safety. And praying that you don’t lose electricity Cee Gee. Stay warm, stay safe! ❤️

  27. Tina says:

    Jessica Mathisen, my sentiment exactly!!
I believe i was never meant to speak from the front or be one who is a ‘celebrity to others.
I may make the history books, I may not! My story may be a paragraph in the ‘bibles’ that may appear some hundred years from now, but one thing I do know, is that whatever I do in silence and or quietly, I do for and to the Glory of God..
    .
I recently met with a couple of ladies I worked with at Kings table.. we were reminiscing of the days gone by and the characters we met along the way, those whom we served, those who inspired some of my ‘God at work’ stories.
One such story was of siblings who had lost their parents a week apart.. the older brother just being eighteen took control of his siblings, but they were always fighting the system.. they got into trouble a lot.
The youngest was a girl and she just followed her brothers, into arguments, fights etc. They were more often than not barred for weeks at a time for disruption of the safe place the church tried to make Kings table for all.
Covid came and went and we hadn’t seen them for maybe five years, until a couple of weeks before my retirement, in walks the sister, she had an air about her, that felt positive, collected, different. She made her way towards me and opened her arms to give me a hug, she held me for ages and as she held me, she was thanking me for the hugs of long ago, when there was trouble,. I would often pull her near and just hug her and try and encourage her in the ways that would benefit her.
Here she was, reeling of times and chats that had seemed to me to have fallen on deaf ears, yet here she was recalling those moments that had actually shaped her slowly to be where she was then.. Yes, you’ve guessed it, tears roll freely as I remember that day, but to be honest, it is more that GOD moved even in those moments I thought were lost.
    .
The mission field is not always, actually let’s face it, it’s never pretty, but it is so worthwhile, when moments like the story I recounted come to life to see how GOD, made a way for this girl, now a mother, church warden and one now on her own silent mission field for the LORD.,
    .
Mother Theresas prayer.. “Shine through me and be so in me, that every soul i come Contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus..
    .
Mission fields can be ugly and fraught at times..
    .
    BUT GOD..
When GOD is in it, when GOD is present, it will always always be worth it!
    .
    Amen.
    .
Happiest of Friday’s my dears, wrapped in love and hugs and covered in prayers for a God present and blessed weekend!❤️

Praise be to God that you were used to be His conduit of love to that girl.

Love this testimony, sister, and that it was confirmed to you how much those hugs and kind words were a testimony to this now young woman. ❤️
