Text: Hebrews 10:14
Hello, friends!
Boy, Lent can be long, can’t it? In some ways Ash Wednesday feels like it was a decade ago. For those of you who are fasting for Lent, I’m sure you’re looking forward to Palm Sunday something fierce.
But really – aren’t we all?
This season has been about fasting, repenting, and repenting again. It’s been about meditating and confessing and examining. Lent is literally a season of transformation – it’s winter to spring, darkness to light and, best of all? Lent is a transition from death to life!
We have been reminded in this season how truly dead we are in our sins.
We have also remembered that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.
We have seen our debt of sin in a new way.
And that has brought us to a new understanding of the gift of the cross – of salvation.
Tomorrow, we step into Holy Week. Not just Holy Week as a reading plan, but the scriptures – the holy text that gives account to the holy Lord turning His face to Jerusalem and to his mission of death for life.
In this week of Jesus’ triumphal entry, betrayal, trial, crucifixion, burial and resurrection, we will find that the Holy Scriptures are rich and ample to narrate history and rend our hearts for the love of our Savior.
So often in our studies together we seek to allow the scriptures to enter our hearts and we ask, “What does this mean for me?” And, this is one important way to read scripture.
But for this Holy Week, let’s allow our hearts to enter into the text – to live and breathe these real and historical events – and ask the Holy Spirit to teach us through it.
This is the story of Jesus. Let us be wrecked, be changed, and find ourselves in humble worship of our Savior.
And let us never forget – Easter is coming!
Also, because we will not be having Weekly Truths on Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday, we’re sharing lock screen options a day early this week – one for all of Holy Week (but just for fun, we’re sharing a few options).
As a community of women, let’s memorize Hebrews 10:14 together, shall we?
“For by a single offering, he has perfected for all time those who are bing sanctified.”

I have always looked forward to Holy Week being a somewhat new 'baby' in my Christian walk with The Lord, but this year; celebrating Lent for the first time in years and being apart of She Reads Truth Community this year, and reading and taking part in this VERY POWERFUL Bible Study – I am soooo excited (in a new and improved way so to speak) and sooo looking forward to Holy Week…….. May The Holy Spirit have His will and way over all of us this very special week……. As Rachel said; "may we be wrecked, be changed, and find ourselves in humble worship" of our beautiful Savior, Jesus………
AMEN, Jaustin. ..well said…God bless you. X
Loving the lock screens. Thank you so much! It’s a beautiful reminder about the One beautiful sacrifice that was made. Thanks :)
Amen. Thank you for the gorgeous lock screens too.

"It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process." (Hebrews 10:14, MSG)
He did EVERYTHING that needed to be done for EVERYONE who takes part in the purifying process. Everyone… new believer and believer for 50 years, pastor's daughter and prostitute-turned-Daughter of Christ. We are all in the process of being purified, sanctified; we are not yet there. We all have a past that the Lord has completely redeemed us from, to use for His glory and praise. We are redeemed and healed by the blood of Jesus alone. At the cross, He did everything that was ever needed for us to come to God to be truly cleansed of our sin, to be truly healed of our afflictions, and to truly embark on the new life God has called each one of us to. Jesus. Paid. It. All. I am bursting with love for our savior today. That He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; that He paid it all so that we could embrace all of who He is, living an abundant life walking with and in Him. To stand on that truth today is something so… incredibly… transformingly beautiful. Thank you, Jesus. Praise you. That's all I can express. Thank you.
So VERY true!!!!
I'm so excited about this week!!!
I feel like we've been plumbing the depths during Lent, and we're finally about to break through the surface into the light. I can't wait :) Thank you for the lock screens!
Right? Holy Week should be an incredible time for sure… I'm so excited for what God will be doing through it!
I am soooo excited myself for what Our Lord has in store for all of this Holy Week….. I can't wait!!! :)
What an incredible verse – one I never noticed until today. His single offering purified all of us. His suffering and death. Our purification. How can I not love Him?
I can't believe I've never noticed it either. It purified us forever. Wow. I'm going to sit in that truth today.
I have not either but it is very powerful, yet simple 12 words…….
Amen. Only Christ could set us free through His death. One died for all. One offering that purifies all, how amazing. Glory be to God. He delighted not in burnt offerings but it pleased Him to let His only begotten Son be sacrificed who He then raised from the dead. He is the resurrection, the truth and the life. Hallelujah.
It's such an amazing, profound concept. That all the work to be perfected was truly done in Christ's sacrifice for all of us. That we are forever perfected, believing that His work on the cross and His alone truly finished what was needed to be finished. Praise you, God!! The work is done! It is finished!!
I love the rest of this passage in Hebrews 10:19-25
"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of the hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful' and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near."
Amen.
Beautiful. This part sticks out to me: "Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of the hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful…" I feel like this passage sums up what lent has been here on SRT. Realizing the vileness of our sin, our extreme need for a saviour, and how willing and able God is to pursue us through all of it… how loving, how patient, how long-suffering, how passionate God's love is for us, proven by the blood of the perfect lamb, Jesus Christ… and how it's only the true realization of all of this that leads us into sincere confession and repentance. The SheReadsTruth community has definitely been the last part of this passage, "let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and do good deeds… encouraging each other." Beautiful. Lord, thank you for the good, patient work you've done in all of us this past season. I pray that during Holy Week, the Lord would move powerfully in and through all of us both here and in the real world. Praise you, Lord!
Good morning, this past month has been a Realization me how seriously God loves me, forgives me. Chases after me, He is willing to give me a trillion chance,if that is what it takes to have communion with Him., to realize His, no conditional, full on, undying love for me, His sacrifice of Himself, that i night be set free from my chains of sin, so i can walk with Him, know His love, grace and hope,. I have been floored, i have been wrecked, i have had my eyes opened, for my betterment, ,.. I know what is coming this week… I will prepare to me floored some more, wrecked some more, changed for the better, some more, and for sure will find myself in humble worship of my Saviour, Jesus Christ who would do all that for me…how can i not, seems a tiny thing in comparison to the gift He has given me..,.
Thank you for saving me, what can i say… You have your life for me, a sinner called by name, i will praise you Lord, i will praise you God… Forever i will praise you..,
Amen Tina. This time has been incredibly life-changing… Lord, let us all come to you this Holy Week broken and humble, seeking your face as we never have before for forgiveness and healing. Let us see your sacrifice in a light we have never before, and let us be changed by it. Praise you, father God.
AMEN AnnaLee…….AMEN. Lots of Love and blessings dear sister….x x
I too, want to be wrecked by Him!
