Thank you for the shares about letting go of control! ❤️ It has come up in my women’s fellowship many times that praying to let go of control can be very difficult, but brings incredible peace ❤️ Hannah

Heavenly Father, my hearts desire is for you to be Lord of my life, Lord over all and for my heart to be wholly devoted to you. Forgive me for the ways I am easily distracted, give into fleshly desires, the pushes and pulls of the life around me, or have priorities misaligned. Help me to seek you first above all else and lead me in your ways. I pray too, for this community of ladies that long to know you better. Work in all of hearts, give us a deep longing to look to you to be Lord over all as we follow after and serve you. Amen

Karen said in her comment that people want a Savior but not a Lord. This struck me. I want a Lord. I don’t want to go through life trying to manage on my own. God knows best. I want to follow and serve Him.

    1. Cee Gee says:

In reference to Jesus being Lord of our lives and not just a Savior:
our pastor says “Jesus is Lord of ALL or not Lord at all.”

  9. Cheryl Blow says:

We don’t have to worry about anyone noticing our serve because God will honor us. May the posture of my heart be one of humility.

Have a wonderful Saturday! Praying for all!

  10. Mari V says:

JESUS comes first in all. At least I make assertive effort to do so. During the week I don’t open email, insta, nothing… until I’ve gotten into HIS WORD as I don’t want ANY interruptions which is the reason for my very early rising, BUT sometimes I fail, I do. Sigh…

I am UP earlier than normal. My son came home to do a coffee pop up here and I was up late helping setting up and up early to help. LORD give me strength! My son was so grateful yesterday, my heart does it because I love him so much and miss both my kiddos SO much. I will take a nap later haha.

Happy Saturday! Mmmm…I can smell the his coffee ………

    1. Traci E Gendron says:

Mari I do the same. I decided a while back to seek God first. My emails and things can wait.
What a special time with your son!

From Enduring Word NKJV Study Bible:

“To be a Christian is to serve Jesus, to follow Him. It doesn’t mean that you stop working at your job, stop caring for your family, or stop studying at school. It means you do those things as a servant of Jesus, a follower of Jesus. Jesus described the servant as one who wanted to be where Jesus is (where I am, there My servant will be also). This isn’t forced slavery, where the servant wants to be free from the master. This is a chosen, willing service, where the servant simply wants to be close to the Master.”

Also in Chapter 12 Jesus is quoted as saying this (just days before His crucifixion):

35 Jesus replied, “My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going.

36 Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.”
    .
    Love, hugs, and prayers!

My Closest Friend (Official Video) – Cory Asbury

    [Chorus]
    And after all this time
    You’re still holding me
You’ve proven all of my life
    You’re watching over me
When I was stumbling in the dark
You’re the one who took the scars
And I could try, but I would never comprehend
This kind of love that goes to hell and back again
    My closest friend
    My closest friend

I’ve had this discussion with my dad who is a pastor many times…so often people want Jesus as Savior, but not as Lord. There have definitely been seasons in my life that I wanted the control and to do things my way. But following Jesus means obedience. It is so hard to let go of the control.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Yes, Karen, and I think we understand that truth more as we age. Thanks for sharing your pastor dad’s insight. ❤

    2. Traci E Gendron says:

Jesus as Savior not as Lord. That statement just struck me hard. Thank you for sharing this.

    3. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

  14. Kelly (NEO) says:

Well, it seems obvious that to serve Jesus we need to be moving in the same direction that His is, yet how easily we try to go another way (or try to get ahead of Him) and think we are serving Him.
    .
Lord, have mercy on me. Holy Spirit speak to this easily distracted heart. Jesus lead me on in Your ways.
    .
    Praying for your requests.
