John 1:16–17

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Indeed, we have all received grace upon grace from his fullness, for the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

    John 1:16-17 NLT
From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

    Lyrics:
Your grace that leads this sinner home
    From death to life forever
And sings the song of righteousness
By blood and not by merit

Your grace that reaches far and wide
    To every tribe and nation
Has called my heart to enter in
    The joy of Your salvation

    By grace I am redeemed
    By grace I am restored
    And now I freely walk
Into the arms of Christ my Lord

Your grace that I cannot explain
    Not by my earthly wisdom
The prince of life, without a stain
    Was traded for this sinner

Let praise rise up and overflow
    My song resound forever
For grace will see me welcomed home
    To walk beside my Saviour

Hymn “Grace Greater than Our Sin”
    Refrain:
    Grace, grace, God’s grace,
    grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
    Grace, grace, God’s grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin.
    .
Praise be to God for His outpouring of grace, mercy and love through Jesus.

    Good Morning She’s!
Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me.
I was once lost, but now I’m found! Oh how Our God loves us, provided a way, to wash us clean and be new! Grace upon Grace!

A couple of new songs to me
Grace upon Grace (I knew there had to be a song by that title and found 2. One by Matthew West and one by Life Worship Church. Here are the words to the first mentioned!

    Grace Upon Grace
What reason do I have to wake up with the rising sun
And not be held down by the weight of all the things I’ve done?
What reason do I have to feel this hope instead of hurt?
How can I not receive the judgement I know I deserve?

Wave upon wave of grace upon grace
    Endlessly washing my sins away
I know the only reason I can stand here free of all my shame
Is wave upon wave of grace upon grace upon grace

How can you see me at my worst and still say I am loved?
What promise can I stand on when I don’t feel good enough?
When the enemy’s reminding me of all that I’ve done wrong
What reason do I have to sing this new creation song?

What can wash away my sin?
    Make me new again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

What can make me white as snow?
    No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

    Thank you Jesus.
My heart is heavy for a few particular girls in jail. One is new and didn’t say anything or express anything the whole class. Then I read her prayer request and it is heartbreaking, the death of her 2 toddler girls. It was actually national news, and she is being charged with negligence possibly homicide. And oh there is so much hate out there against her, which I probably would have had too, until I started jail ministry. It’s more heartbreaking to me because we all deserve grace, and God does offer it to every repentive heart, no matter their offense. Yes, consequences. But we have to have grace as well. And mercy. Forgiveness. She will suffer with this loss the rest of her life. And she will either go down a bad trail, or she will find God’s love and mercy, and restoration. But the guilt and shame will be hard. She is only 23. Please pray for her. I reached out to her and wrote to her. I wish I could have just hugged her.

    1. Kelly (NEO) says:

      So heartbreaking

      1. Rhonda J. says:

I am crying to the song The Blood- David Funk, because it’s ONLY by the blood that ANY of us are righteous and purified. We are all separated, we have all done wrong and sinful. But thank you Jesus for THE BLOOD, your Blood Jesus Christ.

        1. Cee Gee says:

I heard a new song by Cochren & Co.last night that I wanted to share with you for jail ministry. Praying for you as you minister to these women- strength and wisdom for these really heartbreaking cases. Hugs, Rhonda! ❤
Cochren & Co. – My Only Hope (Official Lyric Video)
          Partial lyrics:

God, I’m just so tired of living like a rolling stone
I need to find some kind of shelter, a rest for my soul
And I’m falling to pieces, so help me Jesus, You’re my only hope
          Oh

Oh, God I’m just so tired of living like a rolling stone
I need to find some kind of shelter, a rest for my soul
I’ll never make it on my own
This burden’s too heavy to hold
And I’m falling to pieces, so help me Jesus, You’re my only hope
Oh I’m falling to pieces, so help me Jesus

          1. Rhonda J. says:

Did you watch the klove awards? I don’t have tbn so will have to wait, but of course they are showing the clips on YouTube. The performance clip from Ben Fuller – Black Sheep (which is a jail favorite of mine) is so amazing. I shared it on my page!

            1. Cee Gee says:

I saw clips of red carpet interviews on youtube, but not the awards. Please let me know if you see it available on tv. Glad you like the new song! ❤
