Update on my mom…
From our oldest just now…
“Just got off the phone with the hospital. They’re moving her to the ICU. No emergency, just that she’s old and has blood thinner medication. Bleed has increased slightly, but not bad. Looking at releasing her Monday. No issues with movement and no fractures. Still fully cognizant and knows tomorrow’s Mother’s day and all that.”
They noticed the bleed last night and thought it would be ok. This ICU move appears to be precautionary. Heading down there in a bit…
Praying all is under control with the bleed, for a sweet time with your mom, and safe travel back home. ❤ Thanks for the update!
My friend Debbie that is going through cancer treatments just found out that her sister has stage 4 lung and bone cancer. I’m heartbroken for them both. Debbie’s numbers have been fairly stable, but a stage 4 in those areas is not good. Please lift them up in prayer. Thank you
Praying right now.
Praying, Traci ❤️
My She friends,
I have to share!
Steve and I returned home yesterday after 3 weeks at The Hope Lodge (Free lodging for cancer patients receiving treatments at Siteman Cancer Center).
We pulled into our driveway to see all of my flower beds completely cleared of weeds and dead plants. New flowers were planted in beds and flower pots. And most special to Steve, our privacy fence was repaired!!
What a blessing to both of us! Friends and family had gathered while we were gone and worked hard to make our homecoming a special treat!!
This morning we’ve just been enjoying our coffee, listening to soft music, and watching the sun come in through the windows as we contemplate the blessings God has showered on us through this journey.
And I want to thank each of you for your faithful prayers over us. The journey isn’t over (not until we reach Heaven) but God…
He is so good.
.
We have to wait until June 3 to get another MRI and find out whether the tumor has shrunk or grown…so keep up the prayers.
And we will keep counting our blessings!
Hugs to each of you. ❤️
Oh GramsieSue what a blessing to come home to!
That is beautiful ❤️ you have wonderful support
What a beautiful gift! It brought tears to my eyes. Prayers for you both as you walk this journey!
PTL. What blessings!
Prayers for positive news!
SUE, that is so powerful and such a show of love and compassion! Your comment reminds me of the Seph Schleuter song Counting My Blessings. Continued prayers foryou and Steve! ❤
.
Seph Schlueter – Counting My Blessings (Lyric Video)
Oh that is so nice, what a joy to see coming back home after 3 weeks of hospital and treatments! We should all remember this and how easily we can bless those going through trials!!
Awww Sue, what a very special blessing that was! When you are going through hard times it is so special to realize that others have not forgotten you! I am praying daily for complete healing for Steve and strength for you. ❤️
What a beautiful blessing❤️
❤️ that is so sweet. Hands and feet of Jesus. Continuing to pray.
I searched the word Godliness and it can be defined as devotion to God which results in a life that is pleasing to Him. Sometimes I read these words and I can’t quite define what they mean. I want to live this life being devoted to God and content in all situations. I’m thankful for SRT and all of you Shes. These daily times of studying the Bible together and sharing our thoughts and prayers has been one of the ways God has been developing my devotion to Him.
This is so helpful – thank you for sharing.
Thank you for that definition. ❤️
NIV APPLICATION BIBLE QUESTIONS:
1 Timothy 6:6-10
Do we consider ourselves to be content in the same way that Paul describes? Why or why not? How can we more fully find contentment in our faith and in good works rather than in comfort or wealth?
⚡
ENDURING WORD STUDY BIBLE NOTE:
This clarifies the previous statement. It is true that godliness is great gain but only when accompanied by contentment. Paul had learned this kind of contentment (see Phil. 4:11–13).

SONG SHARES:
1)Ben Fuller – If I Got Jesus (Lyric Video)
.
When we want more and God says “No.” let’s thank Him.
Great reminder in this song:
2)Leanna Crawford – Thank God (Lyric Video)

I have been blessed walking through James with this community. Thank you writers and staff for your great work! And thank you, SHES, for all your comments, questions, and wisdom. ❤
I saw Ben Fuller with Lauren Daigle. He has quite the story. He was in the throes of drug addiction.
he’s from vt
That makes the lyric all the more powerful! Glad he’s now using the talent God gave him for good. ❤
In a world and society where more is considered a sign of wealth and good standing, I am SO grateful for this community of BEAUTIFUL She’s that have godly view and our focus is not on “things” that here today and gone tomorrow, but on JESUS and we ALL have common ground. I love that we all come from different walks of life, yet we can come here and be unity as we all love Jesus, love the WORD and we relate. We are family! Can’t wait to meet you all someday! Happy Saturday sweeties!
❤️
So beautifully said, Mari, and so true! Check out the Leanna Crawford sing I just share; I think it will really resonate with you and help Allysa right now, too as she leaves the nest. ❤

that is 1 of my favorite verses
GM She’s!
I love these seemingly simple verses, yet are have amazing impact on our life if we heed! We don’t have to read the surrounding scripture, it is just point blank, fires right at us! Be Rich in the Lord and content. The Lord is everything. When we have Him..we are going to be okay. More than okay, we are abundant, plentiful, taken care of, wealthy, sufficient! We are without wanting and needing! We are NOT weak or poor. And it’s not by anything we do to deserve this special place in the Lord, no striving and earning like earthly riches! How fantastic is that? Just trust and faith in the One.
So why are we not content? Because we are spoiled Americans, lol. We think more is better, and better is better, and the best is way better. Stuff is our value in our culture. Material things make us feel worthy, it makes us feel more than, and it fuels us. And it is a bad cycle.
How then do we break the hamster wheel of wearing ourselves out in this harmful pattern of discontentment? Recognize it! Take an honest look at why you can’t be satisfied. Only Jesus satisfies with living water. We are the woman at the well. Thirsting for refreshment for our soul in the physical, emotional, and spiritual. We are antsy and discontent, because God left a hole to be filled. And only he can fill our cup. But I love that he doesn’t only fill, but overflows! Enough and more. He is more than enough! Thank you Jesus, you are my peace in the valley, you are my shelter and comfort and safety- under your wing. You are my Joy and contentment. You are my strength and song, and lift me up to soar on eagle’s wings. You are my light on dark days that breakthrough. You ARE Enough. The answer to anything and everything, thank you Jesus! Amen.
I keep singing the old and really popular song in the 2000s by Chris Tomlin “Enough!”
Rhonda, you pulled a great sermon out of that tiny verse! Thank you for sharing what God gives you.
Good song- new to me somehow! ❤
Amen!

What a worthy goal to live, godliness and contentment!
Reminding myself that this is a divine task that He has equipped us for through the Holy Spirit!
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
—1 Timothy 6:6 ❤️
Definition of contentment: happiness and satisfaction, often because you have everything you need
.
And don’t we just! To have Jesus is to be complete, what/who more do we need.
.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3

Reminds me of a very old praise chorus – Jesus Is All I Need…
He’s all I need, He’s all I need;Jesus is all I need.
He’s all I need, He’s all I need; Jesus is all I need.
.
He’s good to me, He’s good to me;Jesus is good to me.
.
He’s life and peace, He’s life and peace; Jesus is life and peace.
.
He’s all I need, He’s all I need; Jesus is all I need.I take Him now, I take Him now,For all that I need.
.
I will worship Him, I will worship Him,In Spirit and in truth
—
This morning I will reread the book of James as a reminder of all we learned these past two weeks – and to see the things I might have missed.
—
@Jordan – I am so sorry for your loss. Praying God’s peace and comfort.

Happy Saturday She’s – it has been great going through the book of James with you all! ❤️
Great exercise to read through James again in one bite!
In Jen Wilkin’s study, we read it every week before going into the next section. Amazing exercise! Not familiar with that sing; thanks for introducing me. It made me think of Jesus Is All the World to Me…my life, my joy, my all. Baptist Hymnal ❤
We sing this chorus at church. Love it so much. ❤️
Amen
The verse from the Message
“A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God.”
.
Even if we could “fake it” before God, it’s good to know we don’t have to.
.
Enjoyed journeying with you all through James. Tons of good reminders of how to walk the walk!
.
Have a great Saturday
❤❤❤
Hard to be Godly AND content, huh?
.
Please pray for my mom. (Her name is Connie.) She fell earlier and was transported via ambulance to ER. Her vitals and memory appear to be good. Our oldest son contacted us and said he would keep us posted. I hope that no recent news means that they sent her back home. Will post new info as I get it.
.
Thanks.
Praying all is well!
