Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Isaiah 25:9

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

On that day it will be said,
“Look, this is our God;
we have waited for him, and he has saved us.
This is the LORD; we have waited for him.
Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Happy Saturday sweet She’s! I lost my devo book and just found it today. I wish I would of made more effort to journal and study all the insightful extras that come with having the devotional book. I’m very much considering become a subscriber, however I need to be more intentional and effort to really study, it may mean me getting up earlier, but I already get up early as I try to exercise a little as well. I know its all about managing my time but when it comes to SRT, I love reading the devo and coming here to read your comments. Time management is what I need. Meantime I will continue to “LOOK” to my Jesus for everything.

    1. Tricia C says:

Mari V, I too have a problem fitting it all in. Asking the Lord to show me how to do just that, because He certainly wants me to spend time with Him and in His Word. ❤️

I became a subscriber a little over a year ago, and I highly recommend it! It’s made me want to “keep up” more, even when I don’t get to my reading until later in the day or even have to use the weekend to catch up. I really have a hard time getting moving in the mornings in recent years, but the important thing is not so much when we meet with Jesus, but that we do! I’m convinced that all those preachers who tell us we have to start our day off with a quiet time are morning people. And I learned a few years back that for the Hebrews, the day begins in the evening. The sabbath begins at sundown. “The evening and the morning, they were the first day,” and so on in Genesis 1. Let’s throw off the guilt and look forward to our time with our savior. Notice I am posting this on a Sunday morning, but I hope you will see it, beloved sister.

I just keep thinking, He is worthy of our wait! We will wait on many things but we should be patient with God! He is so worthy!

“Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us.This is the LORD; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” Isaiah 25:9

I love this verse. It makes me feel excited, but catches me because I am also guilty and convicted of not fully embracing, rejoicing and being glad in the joy of what salvation truly is. Its far too easy to go about my day and to forget that I am a sinner, saved by grace. Gracious God and Heavenly Father, forgive me Lord for my complacency and remind me of the joy of my salvation. Thank that you love us faithfully, fully, unconditionally and want my undivided heart. Draw us near Lord to sit at your feet as we wait for you.Amen❤️

I had a second kidney stone surgery this week, thankfully less invasive than in the summer and it was the laser surgery. All went well but there is still a bit of post recovery to manage. I have an out of town family gathering today to celebrate a nephew & his fiance’s bridal shower (5 hrs driving there and back). My husband is working, my daughter has homework and other commitments and so just my other young adult nephew is going with me. Appreciate your prayers for safe travels and energy. Its been a tiring week and it will be a long day for me but looking forward to the fun and joy of gathering. Thanks ❤️

Praying for your safety as you travel, healing and restoration, and a joyous gathering.

Does anyone’s husband use the He Reads Truth app and like it? My husband said the comments are all filled with spam comments so it’s hard to use.

    1. Wendy B says:

No, but I do frequently pop over there and unfortunately the spam has been an going issue for quite some time. A while ago – probably a year+ there was a few men that posted but I haven’t seen that for a while. I think its beneficial to sent SRT/HRT some feedback? It may help them to know that men are wanted to interact in that way?

    2. Rhonda J. says:

I have tried to get my husband to do the studies with me, at least on his days off. He will read a couple and then fall off. I used to always tell him HE could get the men commenting and sharing(ha!)- although, yes, like Wendy said there were a couple of men that would comment regularly for a few studies. Then the spam came! I used to remark…my She’s have THIS many comments…and then HRT—NONE! The devotionals are always good!
I think it would be ideal for a couple to do together!!

      1. Cee Gee says:

I agree and I think that is most likely the intent, but I begged my husband multiple times to join me in a study. He always chose one from the archives instead. Not sure he has ever completed one either. I don’t ask. ☺

  11. Cee Gee says:

RHONDA J- I replied to Searching and Tina, but ‘teply’ didn’t work aftetbthat.

Oh Lord, forgive me for the days I take my salvation for granted. Help me to be glad and rejoicing about Your awesome gift in Jesus every day, no matter the circumstances.

  14. Rhonda J. says:

    “Look…this is our God!”

We can know “about” someone, or we can truly know a person. There’s a big difference. When you just know about someone you don’t know them intimately. You can’t depend on someone that you don’t have a relationship with. The Bible is given to us to know God. His character, his ways, his values, his dependability, his love. We get to know him by spending time with him, and building the relationship over time. Look- He is OUR God. He IS OURS. He belongs to us and we belong to him! So amazing! I can claim him for myself! I know him well. He has proven his character to me. His promises have stood. He has been my rock. And too, I KNOW I have salvation in my faith, through Jesus!
I started singing Phil Whickham’s “This is our God, this is who he is, He loves us..” He loves all people, but he has an intimate relationship with his children. That is something special to be someone’s child! The nation of Israel knew they belonged, had a unique, special relationship with the creator! And they still do! He will come back for the nation of Israel and everyone will see it! Thankfully we were grafted in as children too! We, too, have a place at the table of the King’s! We, too, are the apple of his eye! “We have waited on him, and he has saved us!!” Yes, Amen! I am rejoicing and being glad in this truth! The day of his salvation!

    2. AZ Walker says:

It is so amazing Rhonda!! Praying for your ministry and serving activities! Thanks again for recommending the Unfolding podcast. I listened yesterday while working on Christmas decorating. A Jewish young lady who died and returned to her body explained in detail how she saw Jesus and was with God. It was so beautiful! She saw her life and felt how others had felt, the blades of grass were singing to the Lord, she flew around the galaxy with Jesus. She did not want to come back, she said God held her. I need to listen again!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

I will have to listen!! I got out of the habit now that I don’t ride my bike when I used to listen!! Thanks for the reminder!!

  15. Jill Pirhalla says:

The Lord is such a wonderful savior and rock to find peace, shelter, and mostly love.

  16. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

On that day, TODAY, it WILL be said,
    Look, this is OUR GOD:
We, our people before us, have waited for Him. We, the here and now folks, wait for Him. Those to come will wait for Him.. He has saved, will save and shall continue save us.
This is the LORD; On whom we will wait.. for always
    .
Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation…
    .
    He never fails..

There is so much promise/hope in this chapter!
Wiersbe Study Bible notes on v. 4-5:
    “Isaiah paints two pictures:
the buffeting of a storm and
the beating down of the rays of a burning sun in the desert.
Where can travelers go for refuge? They see a huge rock and find refuge in it.
God is that Rock (Deut. 32:3–4, 30; 33:27; Ps. 46:1; 61:1–4), and He will be a refuge for His believing people during that terrible day of the Lord.
The victory shouts of the enemy will disappear the way heat vanishes when a cloud covers the sun. We can remember this picture of refuge when we face the heat in our own lives.”
    .
    .
6 In Jerusalem, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
    will spread a wonderful feast
for all the people of the world.
It will be a delicious banquet
with clear, well-aged wine and choice meat.
7 There he will remove the cloud of gloom,
the shadow of death that hangs over the earth.
8 He will swallow up death forever!
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears.
He will remove forever all insults and mockery
    against his land and people.
    The Lord has spoken!
    .
John MacArthur Study Bible note on v. 9:
“To wait for God entails an ultimate trust in Him,
not becoming impatient when His timetable for final salvation differs from ours (cf. 26:8; 33:2; 40:31).”
    .
The Wiersbe note on verses 4 and 5 reminded me of an old song by Dottie Rambo:
    I Go to the Rock
Where do I go, when there′s nobody else to turn to?
Who do I talk to, when nobody wants to listen?
Who do I lean on, when there’s no foundation stable?
I go to the Rock, I know He′s able, I go to the Rock.
I go to the Rock for my salvation,
I go to the stone that the builders rejected,
    I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me;
When the Earth all around me is sinking sand,
On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand,
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the Rock.
Where do I hide, ’til the storms have all passed over?
Who do I run to, when the winds of sorrow threaten?
Is there a refuge in the time of tribulation?
When my soul needs consolation, I go to the Rock.
I go to the Rock for my salvation,
I go to the stone that the builders rejected,
    I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me;
When the Earth all around me is sinking sand,
On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand,
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the Rock.
I go to the Rock for my salvation,
I go to the stone that the builders rejected,
    I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me;
When the Earth all around me is sinking sand,
On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand,
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the Rock.

Are you up early, or stayed up really late, girl?
Love the reminder of a great song -I go to the Rock, strong, steady, dependable, protective, able to do anything and all things, praise Him! And the MacArthur share – an ultimate trust in God. No one else is worthy.

      1. Cee Gee says:

Most welcome, Cheryl! I am thrilled to see that y’all are familiar with this song! A young lady sang it in our church many, many years ago and I never heard it anywhere else that I recall! ❤
