Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Psalm 107:1-3

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his faithful love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD proclaim
that he has redeemed them from the power of the foe
and has gathered them from the lands—
from the east and the west,
from the north and the south.
—Psalm 107:1–3

Good afternoon Ladies! My grandfather passed away yesterday morning and I would appreciate prayers for your family, especially my mom who has been caring for her parents (with the help of other siblings) for the over 3 years. I am so thankful that my husband and I and our two girls were able to make the trip to visit them on Tuesday. I did not realize at the time his end was so near and a triumphant end

Happy Saturday from a brr….morning in Sunny Cal. The sun is UP, and waiting a little longer for it to warm up before heading out on my Saturday speed walk with my sweet friend. GIVE thanks to the LORD for He is good; YES He is! Even when it doesn’t go MY way, HE is still good! His faithful love endures forever. I will say it again, HIS faithful love endures forever!! I believe this promise! What great timing for this promise/verse! Just another reminder for “me” from “my” Jesus who has me!!! Yesterday’s hearing did not go as I had hoped for. The Ex was missing some paperwork, which I already knew, but was hopeful that he had completed it last minute. THE Judge….she was SO patient and kind, soft spoken. My friend in my home bible study told me I would like her (she works at the courthouse) and I do. However she was very firm with him about getting his part of the paperwork done. He has 45 days to complete it, then its back to court May 1st! YEP, six more months! I was not happy! BUT after taking to Self Help at the courthouse,if he completes and turns in his portion, we may be able to move forward and complete the final judgement (haha, had to chuckle a little). HOWEVER, this could mean meeting “in person.” My sweet friend that went with me, said she would come with me. PLEASE pray for guidance. I was praying specifically this morning for this and asking my God “how” this might take place and where.

    1. Adrienne says:

Thanks for the update, Mari. I was wondering… I don’t have my new planner for 2026 yet, but will write May 1 down in an area of future dates to input in the calendar. I am sorry that your ex had not done his “homework” and that another date will have to happen at the later time.
      .
But, yes… He is so good. He has a plan, even when it doesn’t align with ours and our timeframe.
      .
      Bless your Saturday!

This is a timely passage for me today and a great reminder to give words of our testimony. Every 6 – 8 weeks, or so, I lead a time of testimony and praise for our ladies at church called “Her Story, His Glory”. Its been a beautiful time and so, so encouraging hearing ladies of all ages share how the Lord has authored their stories, been faithfully present, leading, guiding, healing, lifting them up in everyday moments, joys, deep sorrows, and miracles. We meet again on Monday and today’s verse prompted me to read the entirety of Psalm 107 and ushered my heart to a good place of focus as I prepare for Monday. Tell your stories, dear sisters. Testify to the greatness of our Lord, proclaim all He has done and who He is. It brings great honor and glory to our Father and breaths life, hope, and encouragement to the body of Christ, the church and the hearts of many.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD proclaim that he has redeemed them from the power of the foe. Psalm 107:1-2

Further on in Psalm 107 we read “they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and….
    he delivered
    he saved
    he satisfied
he brought them out of darkness
    he healed
    he rescued
he brought them out of deep gloom
    he broke chains
    he guided them
    he stilled the storm
    he lifted the needy….
Consider the great love of the Lord.”

Tell your stories, dear sisters. Proclaim His power and redemption. May God be praised and lifted high❤️

    1. Mari V says:

THIS sounds so beautiful!!! I love this! I’m “new” at the church, I have now chosen to be my home church. Maybe I’ll get the courage to ask to do something like this.

      1. Wendy B says:

Mari, it was an act of obedience to begin this and I had to find the courage. I do not like being front and center, public speaking at all. I’m a behind the scenes person. I really felt the Lord was prompting me to share my story, but that Sunday mornings was not the right place and so that meant creating the space within church to do so. I did not want it to be a “women’s event” but just a simple, low key, informal come as you are, time to hear what the Lord has done. It has been a truly beautiful time. We sing a few songs accompanied only by guitar or piano, 2-3 ladies share and then we visit over coffee and a dessert. It is heart filing, hard, encouraging, and a joy. There is laughter, hugs and tears and an increased connection amongst the women of our church. I would really encourage you all to share uiur story – if there isn’t a space place to do it within your church community, be courageous and make it happen. ❤️

    2. Cee Gee says:

What a beautiful thing! I know God will give you just the right words on Monday. ❤

    3. Rhonda J. says:

I am so with you Wendy! I love that you have the night only for that!! I have encouraged all my groups to TELL their testimonies!! That their trials, tests, struggles are all meant to bring them closer to the Lord and lean on Him! THEN we celebrate the victory giving Glory to God! But we MUST share our stories! Our Wins! Our pain that gave us purpose! Our tests that gave us testimonies of his greatness. His provision. His care! His miracles! Our mess that became our message!!
My group is doing Mathew West’s My Story Your Glory book. I highly recommend it.
I have sent it to some of the ladies in prison as well. The set up is good as a 30 day devotional, or reading one a week, or whenever. Every facet of our life can be used for His Glory!!

    4. Cathy Tubby says:

Wendy B – thanks for that summary of Psalm 107. It is so neat to see it like that. That time of testimony you speak of sounds like a wonderful idea and good time of fellowship.

  7. Lynne from Alabama says:

Good morning, precious sisters! You are all such a blessing to me! I rarely comment but pray for you and your requests each day. Many of you have been prayed for daily for a long time.

Please pray for me. Thanksgiving Day will be nine months since Jack went home to be with Jesus. Although I am a “tough old bird” I am already having a very hard time with the holidays. I know that there are several in our group that have lost their spouses this year. Please pray that God will comfort our hurting hearts!

Love and hugs to all of you! ❤️

    1. Wendy B says:

Hugs, Lynne. May you be reminded of the Lord’s presence, comfort and strength as you continue to walk through this sorrow. Have prayed for you and our other sisters experiencing the same❤️

    2. Mari V says:

Oh sweet Lynne…praying for you right now, this very moment.

    3. Cee Gee says:

Lynne, I pray for strength and comfort that only God can give as you approach the coming holidays. May precious memories so overflow your heart that the sadness has no footing! Love you and send hugs across the miles! ❤❤❤

    4. Adrienne says:

I knew this would be a rough holiday season for you (and some other sisters too, of course). Allow yourself some time to grieve during the Christmas season. Let the loving arms of our Heavenly Father hold you so close!

    5. Cathy Tubby says:

Lynne – I am praying for you and others, that you will feel His comfort and presence with you this holiday season.

    6. Rhonda J. says:

I too, have already had you on my heart. Those first few holiday seasons and other firsts are so hard. Hopefully you will be surrounded by your family and be blessed with goodness and sweet memories, and if sad, that’s fine too. But the Lord will give you peace I know, but pray his strength also fills you. Lots of love and hugs to you.

    7. Cheryl Blow says:

      Praying for you

  8. Aimee D-R says:

    Amen

  9. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

God is so, so good and forever faithful. Why then is it so hard for me to share what He has done? Our “story” is the one thing no one can argue with – what Christ has done for us. I must tell my story more…So in agreeance with Kelly.

Happy Saturday She’s, be blessed! ❤️

    1. Cee Gee says:

      So true! ❤

  10. Cee Gee says:

Well, KELLY NEO already said what I was going to say! ☺☺☺
Like minds again; love ya, Kelly! ❤✨☺.
    .
But, I want to share the NLT version of verse 2

“Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others he has redeemed you …”
    .
    .
I need to speak out more! God, give me confidence to share you with others.
    .
Thinking of the Fanny J. Crosby hymn – Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It.
    .
I was also reminded of this more contemporary song:
    by Big Daddy Weave
    Lyrics:
“Seems like all I could see was the struggle
Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past
Bound up in shackles of all my failures
Wondering how long is this gonna last
Then You look at this prisoner and say to me
“Son, stop fightin’ a fight, it’s already been won”
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I’ll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I’m not who I used to be
    I am redeemed, I’m redeemed
All my life I have been called unworthy
Named by the voice of my shame and regret
But when I hear You whisper, “Child, lift up your head”
I remember, “Oh God, You’re not done with me yet”
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I’ll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I’m not who I used to be
Because I don’t have to be the old man inside of me
‘Cause his day is long dead and gone
Because I’ve got a new name, a new life, I’m not the same
And a hope that will carry me home
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I’ll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, ’cause I’m not who I used to be
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I’ll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, yeah, I’m not who I used to be
Oh, God, I’m not who I used to be
Jesus, I’m not who I used to be
    ‘Cause I am redeemed
    Thank God, redeemed”
    .
Love, hugs, and prayers, sisters! ❤

    1. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

      Love that song!❤️

    2. Cathy Tubby says:

I love this Big Daddy Weave song -I Am Redeemed, as well as their song “I’ve Just Seen Too Mich”.

      1. Cee Gee says:

Thanks, Cathy! I’ll check out the song you mentioned! ❤

  11. Kelly (NEO) says:

“Let the redeemed of the LORD proclaim that he has redeemed them from the power of the foe”
    .
How will others know of God’s power and love unless we who are redeemed proclaim it?!
    .
Lord give me the words and courage to speak of Your great love and redemption.
    .
    Praying for your requests.

    1. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

      Amen.❤️

    2. Cee Gee says:

❤ Amen to your prayer! ❤

Songs popping into my mind as I started reading today’s verses –
    Forever
Let the Redeemed of the Lord
    .
SUSAN BURLEY – continuing to pray for Sean and family
TRACI GENDRON – yes, I’ve been teary eyed reading Revelations, especially the verses of blaspheming and rejection.
CEE GEE – agree that the love of God has been focused on to the near exclusion of His righteous justice, anger, wrath and discipline. Growing up in the Pentecostal church, the pendulum swung the other way and the focus during that time was on hellfire and brimstone with limited teaching of God’s love. As RHONDA J reminded, all Scripture is useful for instruction!

Prayers for your continued recovery… from across the pond! ❤️

    16. Indiana Elaine says:

Oh Tina, I know your pain so well. Did PT for that pain for 3 months. No help. Fast forward to this year, three years later. Was in ER twice before it was determined that I had two tipped vertebrae pinching the nerve coming out of the spine. Had surgery in august. Was pain free day after surgery. Still dealing with the nerve pain as they learn new pathways and recovery. It has been a very challenging time, but God is good and is faithful. Prayers for you for complete healing !!❤️
