  7. Margaret W. says:

Thank you, sister SHEs, for your prayers. They have helped lift me out of the depths of despair (along with a supplemental medication and a potential change I intend to discuss with my doctor during this week’s upcoming visit). I am getting the rhythm of school better, and I had lunch Thursday with a lovely classmate who I seem to have connected with who is young enough to be my daughter but is also a kindred spirit.
After class, I got to call my friend Judy. She is doing much better. The 2nd surgery was to remove her appendix because the doctor accidentally removed part of it during the hysterectomy—not because he was necessarily incompetent, but because she had a very oddly sized and shaped appendix. She did have cancer in her uterus, but they are convinced that they got it all, and her boss is very understanding about her taking a much longer than expected leave. (Thank goodness! I was horrified that she was going to return to her nanny job after only 2 weeks!)
May you all have a blessed weekend of rest .❤️

    GM She’s

I have been reading Proverbs from the beginning and working my way through along with the study. I like how my commentary says the council it contains is not recorded primarily for society as a whole but rather to instruct The People if God on how to live godly lives in an ungodly world.

The name of the Lord appears 87x’s in the book if Proverbs. It is good to be reminded over and over again that the Lord is the KEY to all righteous living, as it’s author, standard, inspirer, empowerer, judge, and rewarded!

Write the word LORD somewhere where you see it as a constant reminder to you that The Lord is the answer, regardless of what the question might be!!

Amen to that…He Is the ANSWER, no matter the question or the trials you face today She’s! Go to Him for every problem and concern. Go to Him in sorrow and praise Him in Joy! Go to Him in Pride or any other negative aspect nawing at you!

I’m so glad I am seeking wisdom from my King, and knowledge from the world. They want “thing” and wealth. Bigger houses, nicer cars, mire toys and elaborate vacations. I want to serve Jesus and bring as many souls as I can to heaven! To show them there is a healer for all that ails us. That there is One that gives mercy and grace freely and loves us more than anyone else could. He forgets our pasts and mistakes, and takes away the shame. “I Know a Name” that is my everything! ( Elevation Worship)
Sing it loud and proud! And use it for your life’s go to!

    1. Cee Gee says:

You have such a big heart, Rhonda!
Our Sunday School lesson is in Psalm 42 this week (Explore the Bible series by Lifeway). Your post reminded me of the questions asked after verse 1
      Psalm 42:1-
As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.
      The questions asked::
What do you desire more than anything else?
If your consuming desire is for something other than God, how would your life change if you desired Him more than you desired anything else?

  15. Cee Gee says:

Like Searching said, “Y’all know me!” I read the NLT as usual and want to share the surrounding verses. You will understand in a moment (smile).

28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. 29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. 31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”

Righteousness (being made right with God) has to do with our standing before God.
We are justified: God declares us righteous in Jesus Christ. Whatever righteousness we achieve must be based on gratitude and the power of Christ, not our own moral qualifications.

But we are also sanctified (made pure and holy),
set apart to belong to God and to serve Him.

Redemption (having been made free from sin) emphasizes the fact that we are set free because Jesus Christ paid the price for us on the cross. This will lead to complete redemption when Christ returns.
So, in one sense, we have the
three tenses of salvation given here:
We have been saved from the penalty of sin (righteousness); we are being saved from the power of sin (sanctification); and we shall be saved from the presence of sin (redemption). And every believer has all of these blessings in Jesus Christ!”
    .
WIERSBE goes on to explain why we shouldn’t ‘glory in human beings’ or compare our faith with theirs.
He says, “We should glory in the Lord and not in ourselves or our spiritual leaders. …”We have been called to be holy, called into fellowship, and called to glorify God. Are we living up to this calling?”
    .
Now, I included the previous verses because they compliment the BG verse if the day:
    Ephesians 2:19-
“So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.”
The Gentiles were despised yet God made a way for us to be righteous, etc. Yet we cannot boast in ourselves. (1 Co. 1:28)
    .
I shared the last verse about boasting because it compliments the study yesterday on pride and humility.
    WIERSBE NOTES on v. 26-31:

“The gospel of God’s grace leaves no room for personal boasting. God is not impressed with our looks, social position, achievements, natural heritage, or financial status.”
    .
Love, hugs, and prayers, and apologies for this rambling post on Grace day! ❤

    1. DW says:

Thanks for all this extra research! So applicable!!❤️

      1. Cee Gee says:

❤ Thanks, DW! Please see my correction in my additional comment!

    2. Cee Gee says:

In edit I must have accidentally cut where I credited ARREN WIERSBE beginning with the FIRST SENTENCE AFTER verse 31 – sentence beginning with “Righteousness” and the section that follows.
      .
I also meant to include this part of WIERSBE’S NOTES:
“The spiritual blessings that we need are not abstractions that elude our grasp; they are all in a person,
Jesus Christ. He is our wisdom (Col. 2:3),
      our righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21),
      our sanctification (John 17:19),
and our redemption (Rom. 3:24).” This should have come just under v. 32 in my comment. I really blew it this morning!
I should have used my laptop because this Kindle screen is too small.
I apologize profusely for those errors! If I need to clarify further, please call me out! ❤

      1. searching says:

all good and no need to apologize, sister, you’ll just see an adjustment in your paycheck for today, hahaha ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
        .

Crying all the way to the bank! Hahaha!!! I am so glad you didn’t say, “Just don’t let it happen again!” because you know it could!
Thanks for your grace and the heart chuckle!!! ❤❤❤

In Christ alone I’ll take my stand…

  18. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

I too like Searching read a little more than the verse, not the whole chapter but the preceding verses. I love how God chose the foolishness of the world to “confound” the wise. I prefer the KJV use of the this word, rather than “to shame” because confound means to cause surprise or confusion. I imagine it would cause great surprise to those who were “something” to see that God chose rather those who were “nothing”.

I am so thankful, grateful, blessed that God chose me and because of that, Christ is in me and I in Him!

The song Nobody by Casting Crowns comes to mind as I read these verses. Here are just a few of the words…
    .
    Why You ever chose me
    Has always been a mystery
All my life, I’ve been told I belong
At the end of a line
    .
    With all the other Not-Quites
    With all the Never-Get-It-Rights
But it turns out they are the ones You were looking for
    All this time
    .
Cause I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody
All about Somebody who saved my soul
Ever since You rescued me, You gave my heart a song to sing
I’m living for the world to see nobody but Jesus
I’m living for the world to see nobody but Jesus

    Happy Saturday She’s!

    1. Joy says:

      I love this song! ❤️

      ❤️

    4. Adrienne says:

  20. Tara B says:

Good Saturday Morning She’s! Catching up from the week and praying for the needs I have been able to read from the previous comments. Please be in prayer for a sister in Christ, Alisha and her family. Her oldest son Kyler passed away a couple days ago. He and his younger sister had heart transplants when they were younger. I have followed the journey and today saw that he passed. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and heartbreak their family must be feeling now. And the worry for their daughter. They are believers and I know they have a lot of people lifting them in prayer. I thought I would ask for more. I appreciate your prayers in advance. Have a nice Labor Day weekend for those in the US!

    1. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

How heart breaking Tara. Praying for this family as they process their loss and for the surviving sister. ❤️

  24. Searching says:

Y’all know me, I read the chapter this morning to get the setting for the verse. Definitely would include verse 31 – that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
    .
“As it is written” Jeremiah 9:23-24
    23
    Thus says the Lord:
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,

Let not the mighty man glory in his might,

    Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
    24
But let him who glories glory in this,

That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

I found myself humming Without Him, by Mylon LeFevre, 1963
    .
Without Him, I Could Do Nothing,

    Without Him, I’d Surely Fail.

Without Him, I Would Be Drifting,

Like A Ship Without A Sail.
    .
    Jesus, Oh Jesus.

    Do You Know Him Today?

    Please Don’t Turn Him Away.

    Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus!

Without Him, How Lost I Would Be.
    .
    Without Him, I’d Be Dying,

    Without Him, I’d Be Enslaved;

    Without Him,
    Life Would Be Worthless

But With Jesus, Thank God I’m Saved!

And also Heart of Worship (by Matt Redman, 1999) came to mind.
    Chorus:
I’m comin’ back to the heart of worship

    And it’s all about You

It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it

    When it’s all about You,

It’s all about You Jesus

MERCY ❤️ so good, thank you.

Thank you, sisters, for your prayers for Nate – they will mean so much to him and his family in these hard days. I’ll gather yesterday’s and any others posted and make sure they get them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Kelly (NEO) says:

      O, wow, SEARCHING.
“But let him who glories glory in this,

That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight,” says the Lord.”
Chewing on that this morning! First thought was: no one should “glory” as who can really “know and UNDERSTAND” God! But thanks toHis idwelling Spirit and the testimony of His Word, we can know that the Lord is “exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.”
      .
Thanks for the shoutout yesterday. I just keep a notebook of requests, it’s really not that amazing :-)

      1. searching says:
