Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Hebrews 1:1-2

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him.
—Hebrews 1:1–2

    Hi Shes,

I havent been doing the studies anymore, just bc the pace is a bit much for me right now. But I have been still struggling so much with work and that man who is harassing me. The owners hired him back against all of the staff in agreement that it was a bad idea…
And it has created such a unhealthy work environment.
This man refuses to talk to me (a manager) and the girls under me are caught in between, or I simply can not do my job. This man is not under me, but he is our only kitchen staff and we need to communicate as I run our front of house operations (with another woman who works opposite days than me).
Every day I have to hear this man yell at me, mock me or simply just treat me awfully. Everyone is affected by the way he is treating me.
It is quite hard to believe this is the man I originally met who read his Bible, prayed every morning, and loves Jesus. The other day he mocked me for praying publicly with a customer.
I know Jesus is telling me to hold on, but I fear for my safety and I have verbalized this to majority of staff and 100% told the owners this when they decided to bring him back. They told me not to worry, but they dont see what I see.
This man might not be violent anymore in his 60s, but he has a criminal record and a really bad temper. We have cameras everywhere except the kitchen…
I am not called to quit. I love my job so much. It would hurt so much to leave.
Please pray a covering over me, if you feel led. The attacks have been so hard lately and I am feeling so frustrated. I know God sees but my heart hurts so much.
    Thank you. ❤️

Praying God’s hedge of protection around you both physically and emotionally! I’m so sorry you are going through this! ❤️

    3. DW says:

Praying protection over you, wisdom for you and that your owners will see the truth and take action.

    4. Cee Gee says:

Michelle, I hate to hear this! I agree with SEARCHING and KELLY (on Grace Day comments) about documentation. You have witnesses, but it appears the owners aren’t listening.
Do they owe this man something? Is he holding something over them that makes them look the other way?
Please be careful! Don’t assume he won’t turn violent-again. You will remain in my prayers for divine guidance and protection! Love you, lil sis and appreciate this update. I had reached out to you a few days ago and was concerned not hearing from you! ❤❤❤

      1. Cee Gee says:

SEARCHING and KELLY replied today (Sunday)! ☺❤

Oh my…this is a terrible work situation to be in. I’m sorry you are dealing with this. Praying for your safety, peace of mind and great wisdom as you navigate such a difficult work environment.

  7. Gwineth52 says:

His voice today is unfiltered & unfailing, dear Shes.
Let us be unfazed by the world.

  8. Wendy B says:

It can be from long ago (OT) or not as long ago (NT) but no matter what, it all points us to who God is; His character, His nature and His plan for us as His people. He is the same yesterday, today and forever and we are His. Co-heirs with Christ and the promise of heaven is ours if we choose to surrender. What a privilege to part of God’s family. May He find me faithful.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, so simple (!) yet we go our own way.
Thank you Jesus! For bringing us back!

I’m grateful for all of you ladies and your love for Jesus. Your comments and questions and prayers add so much to the SRT studies. I would also ask for prayer for my son who is currently in rehab. It’s a three week program (2 down) and he is considering continuing rehab in another facility once this session is done. Pray for the rehab to continue and that he would experience God’s deliverance and restoration through Jesus.

    1. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

I will be praying for your son and that he will continue rehab if it helps him get stronger.

    2. Gwineth52 says:

Abundant prayer to all in his life, Maria J.

    3. Lisa H says:

Praying, Maria. May he feel God in a mighty way.

    4. Lynne from Alabama says:

Praying God’s deliverance and restoration for your son! ❤️

    5. Wendy B says:

Praying he will keep going and continue to what’s next to keep himself on the right path.

  12. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

God has appointed Jesus heir of all things. According to Romans 8:17, we as believers in Christ are co-heirs or joint heirs with Christ. What exactly does that mean?
    .
“Being a co-heir with Christ means that we, as God’s adopted children, will share in the inheritance of Jesus. What belongs to Jesus will also belong to us. Christ gives us His glory (John 17:22), His riches (2 Corinthians 8:9), and all things (Hebrews 1:2). We are as welcome in God’s family as Jesus is; we are “accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6, NKJV). All that belongs to Jesus Christ will belong to us, the co-heirs, as well.
“Think of all that means. Everything that God owns belongs to us as well because we belong to Him. Our eternal inheritance as co-heirs with Christ is the result of the amazing grace of God.” (from got questions dot org)

Wow! Just one more reason to praise our amazing loving Abba, Father, God!!

This is especially meaningful to me because when my dad passed a few years ago he favored two of his grand daughters (they were 2 of 18) above all his other grand kids and above his six kids. It did a lot of emotional damage to some of the family and is a “buried hatchet” that Satan keeps trying to un-bury. If any of you struggle with this same situation give – it to God, let go. It’s not worth the mental, emotional agony and damage it can do if its not buried. God sees. He knows, His way is best.
Praise God He doesn’t have favorites. He loves all equally and we all receive the same inheritance.
All praise and glory to Him.

Blessings on this Saturday morning – hugs and prayers for you all. ❤️

I love this from Wiersbe’s commentary on the Introduction/Summary of Hebrews:
The letter to the Hebrews opens with an important declaration: “God . . . has in these last days spoken to us by His Son” (1:1, 2). Near the close of the book, the writer stated, “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks” (12:25). In other words, the theme of Hebrews seems to be “God has spoken; we have His Word. What are we doing about it?”
    .
Elsewhere in commentary I read that some of the people this book was addressing had started worshiping angels, putting them above Jesus in importance, hence the many references to angels.
    .
We know it all belongs to Jesus! Without Him, we would have nothing! I just remembered an old song-
Without him, I could do nothing
    Without him, I’d surely fail
Without him, I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail
    Jesus
    Oh Jesus
    Do you know him today?
    Do not turn him away
    Oh Jesus
    Oh Jesus
Without him, how lost I would be
Without him, I would be dying
    Without him, I’d be enslaved
Without him, life would be hopeless
But with Jesus, thank God I’m saved
    Repeat chorus
    Songwriters: Mylon Rae Le Fevre

  21. Searching says:

Verses 1 & 2 are just the beginning of the sentence …
    .
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
    .
Reminded of “Because He Lives” by Bill & Gloria Gaither. The first verse and chorus pretty well sum up the gospel.
    .
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
    .
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
