Grace Day

Open Your Bible

2 Timothy 2:20-21

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also those of wood and clay; some for honorable use and some for dishonorable. So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.
—2 Timothy 2:20–21

    Dear Shes
It’s not what we have but how we use it.
Gold & silver vessels – Good
Wood & clay vessels – Equally Good
What do we fill them with?
    What might overflow from?
    What leaves you thirsty?
    That which honors…obedience.
    That which distorts…wrong doing.
    That which frustrates…never enough.
Our Lord is saying “Be mindful”.
    Partake of His Holiness.
    Drink from His cup.
    Honor Him with every sip.
    Quenched by Living Water.
    Prepared for every good deed.
    All desires known.
    No secrets hid.
    Thanks be to God.

God can and will use any vessel who is willing to be consecrated to him. But you know how we were told all of our lives that we as women were “weaker vessels”? What Paul was saying by that is that women were like the silver and gold vessels, the “good china,” to be used for the most special purposes, to be given the most exquisite care. You don’t put your Lenox or your fine Wedgwood in the dishwasher! (Although now they make some without the gold trim so you can, and most brides don’t even want fine china any more. You can hardly find it in department stores. So if you are under 40-50, ITU if you are giving me a deer-in-the-headlights look right now. But trust me, many of Paul’s illustrations have been taught to us in the most misogynistic interpretation possible. We need to learn about the cultural context in which the teachings were originally given. And my point is not to take away from Gwinnith’s—we are all equally valuable in God’s eyes—but to add a reminder that some of us may not have heard.

Good morning and HAPPY Saturday sweeties! JUST woke up! The sun is UP and its already 70 degrees, ha ha texted Rhonda J to let her know. Last night before bed I texted our two TK teachers whom I’ve grown to LOVE very much. They are both young in their mid 20’s. We had a short meeting after work yesterday and I could tell they were feeling discouraged. So I sent them 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and purity.” I am thankful the teachers are both believers and are the cutest and sweetest! And I felt like a mama bear wanting to protect their hearts.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

I love that, what a blessing you must be for them!! I love getting a morning text from you…! :)
Enjoy you sunshine, as I enjoy RAIN today! Finally in SWF!

I know Paul is warning about false teachers here, but boy does it convict the heart! I want to be a vessel for His honor. May I be strong enough to withstand the purging.

  6. Kimberly says:

In the great house of faith, we each have a place—
not all the same, but each with purpose.
We are not bound by what we are,
but shaped by the choices we make—
    moral, spiritual, deliberate.
    When we pursue purity,
we are readied for a higher calling—
made useful in the hands of God.
    Set apart, sanctified,
    prepared for every good work,
    we become vessels of honor,
    ready to serve,
    hearts clean, spirits willing.

    Inspired by 2 Timothy 2:20-21

    Good Morning, Happy Saturday She’s!

There are many that call him Savior..but are you being used for honorable work? Being useful to the Master?! Nothing seems more sad than being set apart as a daughter of the King, but then producing no fruits. Worse…bad fruit!

Lord, for many years I didn’t know that was me, but I had your name on my lips, but living the opposite. What a shame. That is many today. Lord refine us, keep sanctifying us! You want a relationship with us. To be a child of God, means to look to you for guidance, for courage and love, and comfort. To be obedience and follow your rules that are set for our own protection! You feed us and clothe us, and protect us! To turn away would be foolish. Yet we become rebellious teenagers. Lord reproof us, discipline us to mold us properly. Let us suffer to become dependent for you, for you alone can carry us.

Thank you for preparing me years ago, for the beautiful ministries you have laid before me now. I could not do it on my own, but only with the Spirit within me!! And it is more satisfying than one can ever imagine!! To share your word, your goodness, your care and love!! You want all your people to come and have a personal relationship with you!! Set our heat ablaze for sharing! Giving our testimonies to anyone who will listen! You put them there for divine encounters, may we be obedient when the stirring comes!!

May we stay in the word to strengthen us and fortify us daily, for it is our bread and nutrients.

May we keep your word on our lips day and night.

May we pray without ceasing, for the great privilege it is through Jesus!!

Be with every She, meeting them in their pleas and requests.

We thank you Lord, we honor you.

    Amen

  9. Searching says:

The rest of this chapter is a much needed reminder –
22 Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
23 Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.
24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.
25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.
26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.

SHARON JERSEY GIRL ❤️ “If we do not obey completely, then it is not obedience at all.”
    .
MERCY ❤️ beautiful poem and several lines jumped out-
Not all who lift their hands in praise
Have walked in truth or kept His ways.
But those who bend to God’s command,
Shall surely in His promise stand.
    Obedience—this God desires,
And hearts that trust, and wills aligned.
    .
Obedience is the gate to peace,
The path where storms and struggles cease.
To trust is not to understand,
But place your life in better hands.
    .
So walk by faith, not sight or scheme,
And trust the One whose thoughts redeem.
Let every choice be heaven’s call,
And you will never, ever fall.

MARGARET W – praying as you regroup from this painful decision.
