Grace Day

Open Your Bible

1 John 3:1

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him.
—1 John 3:1

Just now getting to respond. Had all 7 grands spend the night. What a treat!

    Loved all of your insights!
Oh the joy of being a child of God! What a blessing!

    Praying for all of you!

  5. Margaret W. says:

I had a long response typed out about how God answered y’all’s prayers about my son’s caregiver, and I accidentally deleted it. I really need to get something to eat, so for now—God is good! More later, maybe if I can get it all down again.

    1. Searching says:

Thankful for answered prayers, looking forward to your praise report when you can.

    Dear Shes
    Saturdays are our Grace Days…
    A Sabbath of sort…
    Ours for the taking
Catch up on our reading…but without needless pressure
Pray over the teachings…and the petitions of our SRT sisters
Rest in the knowledge …and conversations we hold in trust
All in His presence…and the pleasures & peace we find there
    Despite the hurly-burly, push-pull, scoot-dash of simply being…
In all the wants, who, what, where & how…
    I wish you LOVE.
    I wish you Love
    I wish you love.

Thinking of the Gettys’ song, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us:
How deep the Father’s love for us,
    How vast beyond all measure
    and
O, How He Loves You and Me
And in reverse, this song (one of my favorites at church) came to mind (partial lyrics):
    Jesus We Live You
For all that You’ve done, we will pour out our love
    .
Love, hugs, and prayers, sisters! ❤
This will be our anthem song

    Jesus we love you
    Oh how we love you
You are the one our, our hearts adore
    Jesus we love you
    Oh how we love you
You are the one our, our hearts adore
    Our hearts adore
    (We adore you)
    Our hearts adore
    Our hearts adore

“Lavished” I too read it in the NIV version. BEAUTIFUL! We are not only loved, but are LAVISHED! My daughter texted me as I woke up, asking if I was awake yet,so I responded yes. This morning I’m running a 5k with “Run With Christ-NorCal” running club (my first time running with them). My daughter is coming with me as we are meeting at a sponsored local coffee shop and she will go to wait for me. Well….she came to my quiet spot, crying telling me that she had, had a nightmare involving her dad. She was shaking and crying. She told me her dream and then she said “I know God woke me up.” She still next me and I’m about to pray for her, please join me us she’s shaken, but knows she’s safe.

    1. AZ Walker says:

Praying with you Mari, and praying she won’t have any more bad dreams. The run sounds exciting, I am just grateful I can get out and walk!

      1. Mari V says:

Thank YOU AZ Walker! she enjoyed a sweet time, reading our Bible and journaling and the coffee shop, while I ran.

    2. Darby Byrd says:

I’m praying right now for your sweet daughter. May God comfort her and bless you.

      1. Mari V says:

Thank YOU, Darby! She enjoyed getting into the WORD, while I ran. When I got back from my run, she told me she spent the whole time reading her journaling.

    3. Margaret W. says:

Bless Mari’s sweet daughter, Lord, and heal whatever brokenness this relationship with her father has left in her heart. May she remember that you are her eternal and perfect father, as only you can be.

      1. Searching says:

Amen. Praying she had a peaceful Saturday night.

  11. Wendy B says:

We are His. What a great love to have bestowed upon us. Thank you Father❤️

  12. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

This is one of my all time favorite verses, and I love the NIV translation:
    .
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
    .
God doesn’t just love us – He lavished His love on us!
    .
“In 1 John 3:1, the apostle John marvels at the love of God…This passage emphasizes the extravagant love of God, which is so profound that it transforms believers into His children.” (Bible Hub)
    .
The extravagant quantities of His love!
    .
    The power of God’s love!
    .
    Heaped up, poured on generously!
    .
    Unstintingly!
    .
    Freely bestowed!

Happy Saturday She’s – may you bask in the love of God today! ❤️

  13. Rhonda J. says:

Seeing the news of tornadoes in Kentucky, praying for all affected. My dad lives in Central Kentucky and had told me that they were expecting bad weather all wkd.

  14. Rhonda J. says:

To be called his child…I repeat with Tricia…Woo! What a gift to receive! We don’t earn it or deserve it…but must accept it! It’s a beautiful thing to be a choice, and so many don’t understand that. And if they do accept it…but don’t live in the power of Jesus Christ, it is even a worse tragedy (to be nor hot or cold..)! Once born again in Christ…the Holy Spirit comes in you! But there is another power that infills you! And we need it over and over to do his amazing works! To step out and do the unimaginable! To be overcome with joy and peace! To have a special prayer language with our Father. Holy Spirit fall on me today like a fresh, powerful wind! You give your children good gifts, what they ask for, in alignment with You!! We love you Lord, and want to be obedient and righteous! We want to glorify your name in all our good works, not to earn but to overflow with your goodness and power! Rest on us, come rest on us, your daughters!! Let us ARISE as such a time as this to lead, minister, and be your disciples. There is much work to do in our homes, families, communities and even on social media! Let us chase after your heart and write your words across it! Thank you for all your blessings and love you lavish on us. May we be aware of the battle going on around us in the unnatural world, and reject the one that comes to kill, steal and destroy. He cannot have our families. He must flee in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ! The battle is won…Praise You Jesus!! We are giant killers, mountain movers, grave defeaters..all in your name! Thank you for my sisters here at SRT! Hear our prayers and requests Lord! Amen!

All of 1 John 3 is attention getting – our attention, to take a good, hard look at ourselves, Who’s we are, who we are as a child of God, who we aren’t to the world, who the world sees in us.
    .
Today’s verse in NKJV, I love the proclamation feel of the first part of the verse. Behold!
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.
    .
What love, what manner of love, what overwhelming, all encompassing love!
    .
Chapter 3 left me with this on my mind – do not justify my hard feelings toward others. I don’t think I currently have any hard feelings toward anyone, but will be pondering whether I’ve shoved aside any situations where forgiveness is needed.

    Praying for the lost.
MICHELLE P – praying, sister, in this time of waiting, of hope deferred, as you put it. I have been in your shoes but without the strength of your faith or your discipline. I was around I think your age range (early 30’s?), rebuilding my faith, tired of waiting for ‘the one’ … so I married the first Christian I dated. Huge mistake ending in divorce. Waiting on the Lord can be hard, but is always the best way – now well into second/current/last marriage at 30+ years. Thankful for your discerning heart, praying for wisdom and guidance, love you ❤️
