My favorite prayer and it seemed fitting to pray this over family today:

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:1-9

    1. Melissa Richards says:

      Amen

  6. Gwineth52 says:

    Oh, Infinite One
I, within the transitory “stuff” of my small existence
(a being which You alone provide)
seek you with all my mind, body & soul.
In Your Love, I pray to the Lord.
    Amen & Amen

Oh my…to read this verse today…is truly the greatness of God. But first, everything we have read this week points to defining our undefineable, awesome God – those two opposites can both be good and true at the same time. If we could fully understand it or His ways, He wouldn’t be God and we wouldn’t need to continually be in pursuit and seeking Him. I’m not sure I’m articulating my thoughts very well there, but hoping so.
My “oh my” for today is that Psalm 145 has been the text that I have read to begin every gathering for the ladies of our church during this ministry year and we concluded on Thursday with a break until Fall. It is a worship, testimony and fellowship evening and we called it “Her Story, His Glory”. We have had a total of 11 ladies of all ages – from 25yrs all the way up into their senior years share their testimony. It has been amazing to hear the hard, heartbreaking, unbelievable and beautiful stories of how our amazing God has faithfully worked in their lives in every circumstance, testifying to the greatness of God and with all praise and honor to Him. Stepping out to organize and lead these evenings is way, way, far beyond my comfort zone – I am a behind the scenes gal. All along, I have known that I was being stretched, walking in obedience and that these times of gathering were only because of the Lord. It was very much God leading and He was moving, but wow, the timing of reading Psalm 145 today is not lost on me. It is not coincidence and only God can design such a thing into my day and my week. Our passages of scripture and reading this week has been so rich and for me personally to end on Psalm 145 was just such a timely reminder of God’s faithfulness, greatness and a really beautiful encouragement, affirmation and reminder that He is in all things, He is great and worthy of all praise. Thanks be to God. Soli Deo Gloria ✝️

May you all be reminded of the Lord’s greatness today SRT sisters; His presence, grace, compassion and peace meet you where you’re at and His joy be yours. Praying for all those requests listed and that hearts would be anchored in Him❤️

I LOVE this SO much Wendy! I am always telling my groups we need to write down our stories and testimonies, AND SHARE them with others! “always ready to tell..” what God has done in our lives! I might have to use this for my next group and make it ALL about sharing our stories! They encourage and strengthen each other! I love that YOU put it together and lead! I too, as ya’ll know, have stepped out of my comfort zone a couple of years ago…and now the Lord has given me so much to do that is now a passion for Him!!

  8. Cheryl Blow says:

All I can add is I praise God for His goodness and grace! His greatness is beyond our understanding!

    Praying for all!

  9. Karen Breaux says:

  10. Mari V says:

Love how the NIV version reads (at the end)…”no one can fathom.” YES, none of us can fathom His Greatness. God is SO good! @Tanya….I had to go back to yesterdays comments to read your praise. Thank you JESUS! Praising God with all our SRT sisters! God is so good! I noticed I commented after you. Wish I would of read it BUT so glad I read it today and my heart is SO happy for you!

  11. Cheryl Read says:

Rhonda, thank for this reminder. Not only to keep scripture on our heart throughout the day but to count our blessing blessings that we can do the little things. Thank you Jesus for all that you do for us.

  12. Laura says:

This is a perfect wrap-up verse for an amazing week of scriptures and devotionals. All of the attributes of God that we have read about so far would be so dangerous in any other being other than a God who is unsearchably great. When I witness circumstances that seem to give Satan some of these same attributes, I need to remember who is ALL powerful, over everything, and is still great and worthy to be praised. Satan uses some of these attributes for evil (seemingly to be everywhere, and to have power, and to pretend to be god) – but it is all fake! HE is a fake! He can never be like God – who doesn’t change to serve a purpose but remains good. All. The. Time.

I remember reading that only God can create. Satan cannot create, he can only destroy that which God has created.

I’ve been in a bit of a spiritual battle lately, and these readings have been so good for me to dwell on. Satan will never win. But he is trying his hardest right now in our family. Because my family is healing and coming together, and getting closer to truth, and Satan does not like it. But I am clinging to the One who is greater than he is. I know my God is stronger, wiser and more powerful. And so my heart is comforted with this knowledge.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Praying for you and for your family! I miss seeing your name in the comments, you always say things that resonate with me so much, so I was happy to see your name today!! Your She’s will pray and lift you up! The devil certainly hates your family being united and knowing the real Truth of Jesus, and will attack constantly! Love you bunches. Stay strong and courageous.

      1. Lisa H says:

        Agree with Rhonda, and praying!

  13. Rhonda J. says:

Ugh..lost my comment. I too read through the whole psalm 145, and thought how good it is for memorization. Writing the scripture on our heart is imperative to make it. I had talked about how I have been watching many videos of Joni Erickson Tada to show one at my pain group and in all of them she is repeating scripture. After waking up every single morning for over 50 years…FIFTY YEARS plus…as a quadriplegic…not being able to scratch your nose, get yourself seated up and out of bed, taking yourself to the bathroom…everything requires assistance of her mornings and days…I just can’t imagine. It makes my days of chronic pain seem like nothing in comparison- Yet, she is so joyful, and has spent her life sharing her love for God, how he has brought her joy and a life of purpose and testimony to share.
Oh how we all need to write the words of God’s goodness and greatness on our hearts. To revel and exude it, to know it and let it be our comfort, our desire, our truth, our all. When the world tells us otherwise, when we doubt his presence and goodness….WE KNOW. We love, we encourage and share what He has done for us and is doing for us, and will do, because of his goodness!
Thank you Jesus! Thank you for your never ending love and desire to be in relationship with each of us! When we become your children, (only through Jesus), it is a special term, that you are a Father to us,but you love your creation as well. That is a compassion like nothing we know, we can’t grasp. We were separated, but you gave us a way in your goodness. That’s why we share. I was lost, and now I am found. May I think of that first thing in my morning, and carry it with me all day!
Have a great wkd, my fellow she’s! I do not have my group or anything this morning!! So if anyone wants to have a coffee chat, let me know on SRT She’s page!

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

Rhonda, chronic pain is tough! I love your attitude and trust in the Lord! Always thankful for your insights and sharing! Praying for you!

    How Great is Our God

    1. Mitzi White says:

      Hallelujah!

  16. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

“Is great”…”Is highly praised” – present tense. The God and King that David praised and worshiped, is the same God and King that we praise and worship today.
    .
Try as we might – we will never be able to fathom His greatness. That’s what makes Him God.
    .
May our mouths speak in praise of the Lord today. Blessings to you all today sweet sisters! ❤️

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

      Amen!

  17. Searching says:

Love TINA’s sharing definitions of unsearchable (especially ‘beyond understanding’), and posting of and encouragement to read all of Psalm 145. ❤️
    .
BG verse of the day fits right in –
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
    .
Even before reading Tina’s post, I had looked up the various definitions of uttermost … one of them is ‘beyond understanding’ ❤️

GWINETH52- Praying for your brother and sister-in-law, and for you
CHERYL BLOW – praying for Tammy, no doubt your visit was a blessing to you both
LISA H -praying for Andrew, family and friends and med team
GRAMSIESUE- “Every day has its crazy, but He is with us” ❤️
RACHEL – love the tambourines share ❤️
MARGARET W – ❤️ beautiful post yesterday that touched my heart and brought back memories of conversations where we looked for miracles in heartaches and heartbreaks we’ve gone through. Praying as you and David prepare for the upcoming transition.
TANYA EVANS – what a praise!! Thankful for your HR rep. Praying as you search out job opportunities.
CEE GEE – agree with your rewording of intent yesterday ❤️ Thanks for song info!

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

Thanks for praying for Tammy! And your list!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

I must have missed this request?!
Thank you for your sweetness Cheryl!

    2. Gwineth52 says:

      Dear Searching
With gratitude for the prayers for my family members. Both brothers, both wives. The all of us. Seeking our Healer & Deliverer.

  18. Cathy Wiseman says:

Thank you Jesus for all of your blessings

  19. Colbi Silver says:

    ♥️

  20. Tina says:

    Verse 3b says,
    .
    His greatness is unsearchable.
    .
    Beyond understanding.
    .
    Unfathomable.
    .
    Unknowable.
    .
    Incomprehensible.
    .
    Inscrutable.
Try as I/we might, understanding GOD is not in our remit! He is for sure, not Someone we will ever understand!
    .
We, as a race, a people, love to second guess others, always trying to be ahead of our competitors, or friends. We oftentimes want to be better then the next man..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
HE has nothing to prove.. to us, or anything else.. NOTHING!
    .
For that, in thanks, I will apply verse 3a
    .
The LORD is great and is highly praised.
And then add verse 1 and 2, in fact, you know what? I will add the whole of Psalm 143,
    .

    I will proclaim your greatness, my God and king;
I will thank you forever and ever.
    .
Every day I will thank you; I will praise you forever and ever.
    .
The Lord is great and is to be highly praised; his greatness is beyond understanding.
    .
What you have done will be praised from one generation to the next; they will proclaim your mighty acts.
    .
They will speak of your glory and majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
People will speak of your mighty deeds, and I will proclaim your greatness.
They will tell, (I will tell,) about all your goodness and sing about your kindness.
    .
The Lord is loving and merciful, slow to become angry and full of constant love.
    .
He is good to everyone and has compassion on all he made.
    .
All your creatures, Lord, will praise you, and all your people will give you thanks.
    .
They will speak of the glory of your royal power and tell of your might, so that everyone will know your mighty deeds and the glorious majesty of your kingdom.
    .
Your rule is eternal, and you are king forever.
    .
The Lord is faithful to his promises; he is merciful in all his acts.
    .
He helps those who are in trouble; he lifts those who have fallen.
    .
All living things look hopefully to you,
and you give them food when they need it.
    .
You give them enough and satisfy the needs of all.
    .
The Lord is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts.
    .
He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.
    .
He supplies the needs of those who honour him; he hears their cries and saves them.
    .
He protects everyone who loves him, but he will destroy the wicked.
    .
I will always praise the Lord; let all his creatures praise his holy name forever.
    .
    .
This is why HE is GREAT and is to be highly praised, for HE alone is worthy to be praised, befitting of a LORD AND KING.
    He ALONE!
    .
Thank you Father God, thank you.. May your praise be forever in my lips..
    .
    Amen..
    .

      Dear Tina, with appreciation…
As you recited many of His MANY attributes…
      .Unsearchable.
      .Beyond understanding.
      .Unfathomable.
      Unknowable.
      .Incomprehensible.
      .Inscrutable.
You reminded me how much it still pleases Him that His humans try…and that we shall throughout our lives!
