Grace Day

Open Your Bible

2 Timothy 1:9

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
—2 Timothy 1:9

Ladies, I know I’m late getting this out there…
    It’s been a while since I’ve shared.
Steve’s health is much better. He’s actually getting some feeling back in his feet. Praise the Lord!
For the last 2.5 yrs of dealing with his brain cancer and vasculitis, we have relied on several key personnel to run our company. And now it has reached a point where we are not sure if we will be able to keep it running. The economy is killing us! So Steve will be going in this week to evaluate and determine a plan going forward. It could mean we have to sell.
We also just learned that we owe a huge amount of taxes that we can’t possibly pay. So we will need to talk to the IRS to make a payment plan.
We really feel that we are being tested and our anxiety levels are through the roof!

I was just getting caught up on this weeks’ studies and Day 17 was sooooo good! Several of your comments really helped me to see that I was not looking at Jesus! I want to thank all of you for commenting and sharing your wisdom. This one especially spoke to me:
“We need to run to Him, stay focused on Him, to not worry and let the situations around us cause us to tremble…Just stay grounded in His Word, remember His goodness, remember that He is always faithful. His mercy and grace are always available.”
So again, thank you all so much!
    And please keep praying!
    Hugs to all ❤️

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Hugs back to you, and yes, will be praying for wisdom in this situation and to “stand firm” in the midst of the uncertainty and anxiety!

    2. Indiana Elaine says:

      Praying for wisdom and provision!

    3. Cheryl Read says:

Lord open the eyes that need to hear about their business and the IRS, and close the doors that you want closed. Give them your strength and peace Lord. We thank you! In Jesus Name Amen

A “jail Ministry” praise to share!

There was a young lady that was there this Spring that had come in with the air of many in the beginning of “I don’t know how a “God” could get me out of this mess!” I remember as we sang “Trust in God,” which was our favorite song, and many of the girls were truly praising with hands in the air, saying “Yes Lord, and Amen Lord! (Stacey was one of them!) And I remember looking at her face and her just like thinking these people have lost their minds. She came here and there since then, but not too much, although I would write her occasionally. Well, she went to prison, and I found her and wrote to her! I even said I assume she thought us crazy by the look on her face as we sang and praised God in that song, but God really can change our perspective! She was so happy to hear from me and said..you will not believe this Rhonda, but..you all helped me so much, and I got here and went to a Church meet, and it was called a “butterfly program” (that is what we call our girls!! first God wink!) one of the other girls from jail was there and looked sad (this was one of our praising girls she had looked at like she was a flying pig!) and so “I” requested Trust in God…and “I” was standing and singing…MEEE!!! Can you believe that Rhonda??! Tell the other girls, they won’t believe it!!
She was able to call me the next day from prison and tell me in her own excited voice again! She was shocked at herself and so happy to share. She said she is relying on God, trusting and reading the Bible often. She has a long journey ahead but I hope God will continue to keep her strong and use her and guide her!
They don’t realize that their testimonies strengthens us as believers! It is these little signs and wonders that show that God is moving and working in places we don’t expect and make me so grateful I get to be a part of seeing beautiful transformations!

    1. Indiana Elaine says:

      Sweet!❤️

    2. Cheryl Read says:

      Amen, big praise!

    3. Cee Gee says:

Thanks so much for sharing that, Rhonda! I just got time to sit and catch up. That is a great example of God working on a person’s life when we think they aren’t listening or paying attention (sound familiar?! Celebrating that God-wink with you!❤

    4. Kim Mullins says:

      this is so awesome!

  5. Mari V says:

Happy Saturday sweet She’s!!! The song that came to mind right away. AND after reading most of the comments it appears that many of you here had/have a song in mind as well. The song that I’ve been playing on repeat this morning is “Worthy of it All” “For from YOU are all things, And to YOU are all things, YOU deserve the glory.” I’m SO excited as Fall break starts TODAY and I’m off for an entire week! Grateful, my PTO will cover “most” of my week. Now my prayer is that I accumulate enough PTO for Christmas break. Love you all SO much!!! Its still very hot here which I don’t mind, but its unseasonably hot (100’s) but thankful this upcoming week it will go down into the 90’s making a nice week to be off. Though I can’t go anywhere I’m excited I get to take my daughter to and from our local JC and go out for coffee!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Happy Fall break Mari V! Enjoy! I hope to see coffee shop pics on IG!

    2. Cee Gee says:

Our schools are out next week, too. Enjoy your break and thanks for sharing the song. I usually can’t sing it without tearing up. ❤

  6. Sarah Ritchie says:

Where would I be without the Lord? Cheryl I loved that!!! Today is the first grace day in I don’t know how long where I’m actually all caught-up! I have loved loved loved the summer of Paul. Thanks SRT. Bless you ladies!

  7. Cheryl Blow says:

Kelly, thanks for the reminder of the old hymn! He paid it all! So humbling for me! I can be a mess and sometimes I have it sort of together, but I could never earn my salvation. I was that little girl who was always getting in trouble but one day I heard about Jesus and I was changed. So grateful for His mercy and grace! Where would I be without the Lord? Don’t even want to imagine!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Amen! Your last statement brought the song to mind “For The Love Of God!” by Andrew Ripp. Partial lyrics-
How could it be, I didn’t get the love I deserved
And the only thing He wanted was my heart in return
And every time I think about, every time I thought was the end
I’m caught up in wonder again

      Where would I be?
Where would I be if it wasn’t for the love of God?
(If it wasn’t for the love of God) oh yeah
      This song of victory is
      Now mine to sing
Hallelujah for the love of God
      Has set me free!

      1. Cee Gee says:

        Oh…RHONDA,I love that song! ❤

    2. Cee Gee says:

      Amen, Cheryl!!!

  8. Rhonda J. says:

The term “made for a holy calling” kinda sounds dry and “Christian-y, no fun, stiff, the holier-than-thou kinda people?! That would have been my thoughts in my young years…yet now- using and living in my holy purpose, by his will, guidance and glory is “AHHHHHHHH!” (That’s my singing voice!) A-MAZ-ING!! (still singing voice).

Life is SO joyful walking and living for God’s holy purpose. Being righteous in all things is far from stiff and boring, it is challenging, purposeful, amazingly fun, and fulfilling!! It is stepping out in fear and know that God gives you supernatural power that enables you!! It is trembling in fear and then slaying giants! It is crumbling weakness turned to Hulk like strength! It is dodging the devil with the armor of God! It is being in the fire with a fourth man and coming out unsigned! It is fighting lions and shutting their mouths and making them pets! It is thinking you are caught and trapped and the sea parting! It’s being led out to be murdered by your family, but becoming the prime minister of a nation!

Why do you need to read the Bible ^^^^^ So you know all these GREAT, factual accounts of HOW God can work in your life, in the here and now! He is still a miracle-worker, according to His purpose and grace! It is the rags to riches story in your own life!! Do you know you/we all have wonderful purpose to be used by God according to His will!! Your trials and afflictions can be your greatest strength and superpower to share with others!

Think of our She’s here, how they have great wisdom from the trials they have gone through to give us wise council. We are not captives to the demons schemes, we are enable, where we were thought about before creation! That is a big wow statement!!

Enjoy your weekends She’s! Oh! I would like to share a wow moment, but my comment is already so long! Maybe in another post!?

    1. Wendy B says:

Thank you for your words that are such an encouragement ❤️

    2. Cee Gee says:

Oh, Rhonda! Yes. Please share! I am loving these praises today!

    3. Tami says:

      Amen Rhonda!

  9. Laura says:

I wasn’t able to hop back on yesterday and just caught up on comments this morning. In response to the discussion yesterday about Romans 14 verse 22:

I went back and read the whole chapter of Romans 14. In this chapter, Paul is specifically talking about the believers getting worked up about the newbies eating things that they don’t feel is acceptable to God. I agree with many of the comments already made here in interpreting what Paul was getting at. There is a big difference between what we have defined as “Christian behavior” and what the Bible says about how we should live. I like verse 17 of that chapter: For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”. I am reading between the lines that the “argument” you and your new believer friend are having is about the church’s treatment of homosexuality. This is a Biblical truth and not in the same category as eating and drinking (or dancing, or any of the other requirements we humans decide to put on Christians). I agree with others, the Holy Spirit will lead you as you share with this friend, but ultimately, that sharing needs to be grounded in the Bible and what it clearly says about this topic (and any topic that is Biblical). I think that this was Paul’s exact point. Keep your focus on what is from God, not from man. Man is really good at twisting God’s words and making them fit what we want. We need to keep our eyes on what God wants. I also don’t believe this means hitting her over the head with it all at once. But being ready, responding with Biblical truth when asked, praying for wisdom and guidance, all of this is discipling too.

I’ll end with this. I have had plenty of “arguments” with my son who gets caught up on individual scriptures plucked from here and there in the Bible and wants to use them to defend his own feelings and thinking. He is an extremely empathetic young man. He feels deeply for those who are hurting. He doesn’t want to accept what the Bible says sometimes because it sounds cruel to his human ears. I have been frustrated many times with discussions with him, because it seems so clear to me. But I have had to surrender his journey to the Lord. I keep praying for him. When he comes to me, I respond with Biblical truth when it is appropriate. And I wait for the Lord to work in his heart.

I rejoice that you have a friend who is actively seeking, and I will pray that you will be used by the HS to speak truth in love, which I believe means to be discerning of what she can handle at the time. God’s Word never returns void. That has comforted me often when I speak to others who are confused about the Word of God. Be blessed, dear sister in Christ!

    1. Heather O'Malley says:

Laura, I’ve had the same frustrating “discussions” with my son. They sound very similar. I’ll join you in praying for God to continue to pursue our boys and use their empathetic hearts for His glory.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

same with my son. Kinda wants to honor everyone’s truth. He has a good heart and wouldn’t think of God as a “sending good people to hell” idea.

    2. Cee Gee says:

Praying for each of your sisters and your sons. May God give them understanding and discetnment as they study the Word. ❤

I am so blessed by your faithful prayers for others and investment in being a prayer warrior, Kelly (Neo) ❤️
My BIL did complete the 6-month rehab! I haven’t heard anything in the last while (my husband’s family are not great communicators), but most recent update was that he was working in a low paying job while trying to get his license back to be able to work as a dialysis tech. Thank you so much for your prayers!

    2. Tami says:

Agreed Karen Elizabeth! You are a prayer warrior Kelly!!! I pray that you would know how valued you are here and an example to us all! My daughter Chela is doing soooo much better 2nd year of college. There are still some bumps here but nothing like last year THANK GOD! I am also handling her better when she is having a moment – so we are both growing:)
Also I would like to update on my brother BJ whose surgery for stage 4 stomach cancer was aborted last Fri because the disease had Much and there was no Safeway to continue with the surgery he has started back on his chemo regimen and is actually feeling better. He actually told me the other day that he felt like the chemo was working. Awesome! It’s amazing to me how positive he can be. Since the possibility of a medical intervention has been removed, it’s all up to God and if we get our miracle, no one can say it was the surgery or something the doctors did. God will get all the glory! Thank you again for asking. How is your work training going?

      1. Cee Gee says:

Tami. What a praise report! Your brother sounds like an amazing man. Amen to your thoughts on a miracle!

    3. AZ Walker says:

Oh Kelly, dear prayer warrior please keep Katie in your prayers. I just learned that she lost her job last week (lasted 4 months) and her relationship with her live in boyfriend is physically abusive. She also was recently diagnosed with some physical medical conditions that I can’t spell right now. Thank you Kelly!

    4. Mari V says:

Kelly….you are so sweet to remember. Unfortunately he didn’t even make it for a month, HOWEVER, it appears he is doing well, keeping himself busy and going to church with his family.

    5. Cee Gee says:

KELLY, I join our sisters here in thanking you and our other faithful prayer-posting sisters for your faithful ministry. Praying all the changes at work are not too stressful! ❤❤

  12. Michelle P says:

Good morning, Shes! Yesterday’s devotional was so good, am just catching up on it today!
I remember reading these verses after I was delivered from New age. I was struggling a lot with asceticism and living by self-discipline instead of by grace. I had believed that I needed to be super rigid about what I ate and dressed like in order to be pleasing to God. Uh no! You shouldn’t police yourself like an army sergent all day every day! I have unlearned a lot since then… and am still unlearning the habits I picked up from new age/gnostic beliefs. God is good!! It is so important to know His word and read it in community… especially, to have more wisdom and revelation in our weaknesses!!! Thankful for SRT but also nothing beats a physical Bible study with friends!

    PRAISE REPORT!!!
I got a car yesterday! After so much trial, I found a car that was in my price range on good old Craigslist (where I seem to find lots of blessings in my life! Jobs especially, lol). It was being sold by a man who’s son joined the navy and is now stationed in Hawaii. He had fixed the car up to give to his daughter but she didn’t want it… so it’s pretty good. It’s an oldie but a goodie.. and half the miles my Pontiac had on it! Thankful to God for His nearness through this trial. Thank you for your prayers :)

God bless you, Shes. Praying with you always ❤️

@Cee Gee- loved your post yesterday! Good summary and what I was thinking, too!! ❤️

    4. Karen Elizabeth says:

Praise God ❤️ Car shopping is on my agenda this weekend…mine has 180k miles and definitely time to replace. I think it’s my least favorite kind of shopping!

      1. Karen Elizabeth says:

Correction: 280k miles! I was aiming to get to 300k, but don’t think it’s going to make it!

    5. Rhonda J. says:

SEARCHING, you beat me to it, sister!!! I had my finger ready to paste the NLT and saw your pist. Thank you for sharing your heart and ponderings this morning. Same could be said for many of us. Love you, sister!!! ❤ I join in prayer for those red tape issues and rejoice with you that your friend is doing well! Have a great weekend sisters! Love you all! Glad you joined us, CANDYCE!

  14. Searching says:

    In NLT, this verse reads,
9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

And BG’s verse today is a favorite:
    Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

As I am so thankful for God’s perfect plan that included the very imperfect me, praying for the lost! As I pray for those I know and love to know Him, as well as those I don’t know – I sometimes think, why can’t they see how lost they are, why can’t they understand how important a relationship with Him is? And then I remember in regret my own days of being lost …. blinded by lies I chose over Him and His truth. So very thankful for His forgiveness!!

Thank you, sisters, for your prayers (SHARON JG, CHERYL BLOW, MARTHA HIX, VICTORIA E and others. No indication from adjuster but also no negative comments, and my dear friend is feeling much better! Praise the Lord!
