I am HIS and HE is mine❤️. I am set apart, just for HIM❤️. This brings me so much comfort❤️
This morning, I am enjoying my quiet time at my friend Gretchen‘s house. Housesitting. She’s so sweet. She knows exactly where I like to have my quiet time and put mini roses for me to enjoy❤️. It’s the little things that brings us so much joy! Happy Saturday from sunny and very hot California. We are supposed to get to 114° today. Waiting for my sweet friend so we can go on a long walk before it gets too hot. I’ve mentioned that I enjoy these walks with her because we (fast) walk, we pray, we cry, we vent, God is so good to have given me such amazing friends! Happy Saturday sweet She’s!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Oh I so wish I could go on a walk with you and talk with you! I miss that! When I trained peeps at my studio, we often just walked and talked for our workout! Something about walking and sweating, brings great convos! And to hear you talk about “my Jesus!” You have to be the sweetest person I have ever “met!”

      1. Mari V says:

    Weekly recap:

Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.
*this reminded me of the old hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” the chorus is what went through my mind but I looked up the full lyrics and they are SO good!!
“ 1 O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
    * Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
    1. Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!
    2. His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!”

Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
*I love the analogy of the House. Let us honor You Lord, the author and creator of ALL things!! Nothing happens without Your express permission. Help us remember that and to reach out to You!! Amen.

Hebrews 3:6-10 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
    WARNING AGAINST UNBELIEF
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you hear His voice,
8 do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested and tried Me,
though for forty years they saw what I did.
    10 That is why I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known My ways.’
*May we acknowledge, SEE, OBEY and TRUST You Lord!! May we be faithful and true, KNOWING You and Your Way!! Let our hearts be soft and pliable, and may our foundation and cornerstone always be YOU Father!! Thank You Lord. Amen.

Hebrews 3:12-14 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.
    *Yes Lord! Amen!!

1 Corinthians 11:29-32 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment. 32 Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.
*Discernment = “the act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgment”.
**May we bring EVERYTHING before You Father, help us to listen, hear, and obey what You give us. Help us be discerning and wise, let us do nothing more & nothing less than what You give and lay on our hearts. Thank You Father for keeping us AWAKE and strong, and for always watching out for us, correcting us and keeping us in tune with You. You truly are a AMAZING Father!!! So extremely grateful!!! ❤️

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
*Wow! This is SO comforting and reassuring!! THANK You Father God!!! You are AMAZING in ALL Your ways!!!
1 Corinthians 10:17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.
*Ooooh!! I LOVE this!!! Such a great word picture and analogy too!! We all share Christ and we should share the same focus: having HIM be honored and glorified, not our flesh. So let us eat the banquet He has given and prepared.
**also reminds me of that communion song “We are ONE body in Christ and we do not stand alone”. May we remember this and always choose to stand with/up for God. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:21-24 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. 22 Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
    THE BELIEVER’S FREEDOM
23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
*I love this reminder: either I’m serving and/or participating with God or with the enemy. There is no in-between or grey area!! Eat/drink what the Lord gives, nothing more, nothing less!! This really puts things in perspective and gives clarity as well as peace. May I choose and reflect You, God so that others might see and so that we all may draw closer to You. Thank You Father. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
-yes. This!! Help me Lord in this!! Thank You Father.

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
*this says it all right here!!

Romans 14:13 Therefore, let us no longer judge one another. Instead decide never to put a stumbling block or pitfall in the way of your brother or sister.
*I love this determination: DECIDE never to put or be a stumbling block!! Help me to do this Father, and help me to promote You alone, nothing else. Amen.

Romans 14:16-23 Therefore, do not let your good be slandered, 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever serves Christ in this way is acceptable to God and receives human approval.
19 So then, let us pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another. 20 Do not tear down God’s work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong to make someone fall by what he eats. 21 It is a good thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother or sister stumble. 22 Whatever you believe about these things, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23 But whoever doubts stands condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith, and everything that is not from faith is sin.
*anything and everything that is not done in faith and belief is a sin!! Wow!!! Anything and everything that is not done in God’s will is a sin and a stumbling block!! Wow!!! This really tightens the boundaries on my life and how God wants me to live it. May I live in these kind & loving boundaries that You’ve provided Father, pursuing righteousness, peace, joy, encouragement and Your good, always having You be first!! Amen.

1 Corinthians 8:1-3 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “we all have knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 2 If anyone thinks he knows anything, he does not yet know it as he ought to know it. 3 But if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.
*such a great reminder and encouragement!! I am KNOWN by You Lord!!! Keep me humble, honest and repentive. Let others know You through me. Amen.

1 Corinthians 8:6-12 yet for us there is one God, the Father. All things are from Him, and we exist for Him. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. All things are through Him, and we exist through Him.
7 However, not everyone has this knowledge. Some have been so used to idolatry up until now that when they eat food sacrificed to an idol, their conscience, being weak, is defiled. 8 Food will not bring us close to God. We are not worse off if we don’t eat, and we are not better if we do eat. 9 But be careful that this right of yours in no way becomes a stumbling blockm to the weak. 10 For if someone sees you, the one who has knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, won’t his weak conscience be encouraged to eat food offered to idols? 11 So the weak person, the brother or sister for whom Christ died, is ruined by your knowledge. 12 Now when you sin like this against brothers and sisters and wound their weak conscience, you are sinning against Christ.
*very convicting!! I don’t want to be a stumbling block for someone else. Lord, help me be tapped/tuned in and aware!! Let me live to please and honor You alone, let be me a reflection so that others may see You and draw closer to You. Amen.

1 Corinthians 7:22-24 For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ’s slave. 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of people. 24 Brothers and sisters, each person is to remain with God in the situation in which he was called.
*I LOVE this and the reminder that comes with it!!! We are not our own, we are God’s!! What a GIFT!!! May we find joy and provision in the midst of whatever God is having us walk out, for nothing happens without His permission. Amen!

1 Corinthians 7:32-35 I want you to be without concerns. The unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. 33 But the married man is concerned about the things of the world—how he may please his wife—34 and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. 35 I am saying this for your own benefit, not to put a restraint on you, but to promote what is proper and so that you may be devoted to the Lord without distraction.
*without concern, undivided full devotion to God, no distraction. This speaks deeply to me on many different levels!! Lord, help me to live The Way You called me to live. Help me to TRUST You completely and wholeheartedly. Thank You for the contentedness (not complacency) You’ve placed in my heart, for the desire to have You be first and for helping me grow and learn!! I am ever SO Grateful to be Yours and Yours alone. ❤️

Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 He poured out His Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior 7 so that, having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
*never ceases to amaze me the Love and GOODNESS of our God!!! Wow!! SO grateful!! Thank You Lord!!
**also love the reminder that this love, grace and kindness He has toward us has NOTHING to do with anything we have done, but everything to do with who He is!!! SO GOOD!!!

Leviticus 20:26 You are to be holy to Me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be Mine.
*set apart and holy is what sticks out to me here. God calls us to be holy as He is Holy. This isn’t a request or a command, it is a statement!! We are HIS and He wants us to be like Him!! [perfection isn’t the goal, willingness is] Wow!! May we be willing!! Willing to be set apart, to be unliked, to be considered foolish or naive, to be persecuted, to be stripped down, molded & changed from the inside out!! May we be willing for it all!!! God first, then nothing!! I say nothing, because when we put Him first nothing else matters (all else fades away) besides doing/obeying His will. He meticulously takes care of us and prepares the way, all we have to do is be open, listen, trust, obey and have faith!! May we do this Lord. May we be as You have called us to be!! Amen.
**Holy. “The Hebrew word for “holy” is kodesh. It comes from the root word “Kadash”. This root word, in simpler terms, means to be set apart for a specific purpose.” LOVE this!!!

1 Corinthians 6:12-15 “Everything is permissible for me,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 “Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food,” and God will do away with both of them. However, the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 God raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. 15 Don’t you know that your bodies are a part of Christ’s body? So should I take a part of Christ’s body and make it part of a prostitute? Absolutely not!
*Love these verses!! Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial!! Do not let yourself be mastered by anyone or anything besides God. Our bodies were meant to HONOR and Glorify God, we were created for UNITED fellowship with Him. Let us devote ourselves to being WHOLLY united to/with Him, let us not “prostitute” any part of ourselves. We are daughters & sons of the Most High King. Let us humbly reflect and confidently know that!! Let us be joined to You alone Lord. Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But anyone joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
*ONE Spirit with God… May we choose every moment to be joined with Him. Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body.
*Powerful and convicting words. My body is a temple, I am not my own. This gives such a GOOD perspective!!! May I be reminded of this every single moment!! May I put myself under God’s authority and submit to Him alone, glorifying Him in everything with my WHOLE being and in ALL that I do, think & say. Amen.

  5. Cheryl Blow says:

To be holy because the Lord is holy and He has set us apart can be daunting. But God made a way through Jesus. We can’t do this on our own. It is only through the blood of Jesus. It is a continual process of sanctification until eternity.

So thankful for God’s grace and mercy! Every time I think I have it all together, I realize another area of my life needs some work!

  6. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

With my hubby still in the hospital, I am a day behind!
Just wanted to comment on yesterday’s reading as a “light bulb” went on!
So many, many times I have read Exodus 13:17-18, but for the first time it occurred to me how these verses apply to my life today…
There was a much route on the Israeltite’s journey to the promised land. But God sent them a way that seemed impossible – through the Red Sea! Why? Because He knew their hearts, He knew how they would react, He knew they would fear. He knew it would deter them from His perfect will – the promised land! He knew they would be so afraid of the enemies, that they would turn back to Egypt, and that was not His end plan for them.

So many times I have wondered in my own life why God allows things to happen or “why that way Lord, and not this way?” It is for reasons beyond our own understanding, but it is because God knows our hearts, He knows what we can bear (1 Corinthians !0:13) that out of His mercy and kindness, He plans another way His way, the perfect way.

I hope that this will always be a future reminder to me, to not question God’s choices for my life.

My hubby is still in the hospital – hoping and praying to come home today! Thank you all for your prayers!!

Blessings to you all on this Saturday!

    5. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, joining in these prayers! And thank you for that insight, so good! Our ways and wants our not the best…He knows what is just right for success and to have our trust!

    6. Cee Gee says:

Sharon, I hope you see this because I had similar thoughts yesterday. As I read commentaries, I had the thought that sometimes God may allow us to go through things to be a witness to others. Traci has mentioned something similar re: Tanner, but, like you said, it was a good reminder – one I hope to remember when I find myself in a hard place. Praying for you and Jeff and that he is well enough to get home soon! I know from experience how hard that is! ❤

  7. Jamie Trice says:

I have been set apart from all the nations. What an awesome truth!

  8. Erica Chiarelli says:

We are His Holy Nation, as His bride, The Church. We carry His Holy Name and I pray that I live in such a way that is holy and honoring to Him!

  9. Rhonda J. says:

    GM She’s!
So many thoughts this morning after last night’s feeding of the homeless, and having Stacy there with me! She was having a rough day when I picked her up, upset with her roommate. Things are not easy for her for sure. Everything is hard. I worry that it will be too much for her. After scrambling with the SS office for food stamps (she has been out for 3 months!) she was supposed to go show her id to the office, it was closed yesterday when she finally had a ride to go from me). But when we got to the park, we sat there and she said she had gotten high so often there in that park, and she was grateful God has saved her. She opened us up in Grace before we ate. We played music and talked to several people and she gave them encouragement that she has been set free by the love of God, and that they could do it to. It blessed my heart. But still. Please pray sisters for Stacy, that she is set apart so the Lord will not give her more than she can handle. My heart breaks for so many I talked to last night, life is hard, and once your down and can’t seem to catch a break, it becomes harder and harder. Yes, there are many that makes their beds, and don’t want to help themselves, but many have just been broken too many times and can’t get out.

For some reason to want to be Holy as the Lord is holy sounds sacrilegious, but wanted to do the Lord’s will, guides and shapes us, and makes me more His servant, which that sounds good to me! Lord help me, help those that want to be your servant but just don’t know how to get there. Show them and show me the way. It seems so hard sometimes. But you are refining us Lord, you know exactly what we need, when we need, and why we need. I am thankful for this place every morning.

    1. Tami says:

Rhonda I think you are so brave for taking part in this ministry! I don’t know that I could do the same! Great job!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

Thank you Tami! It is just stepping out in faith. It was hard in the beginning not knowing how to start conversations. But I try to remember on the way that I love Jesus and I love people!! Then you let the Holy Spirit guide. I wasn’t able to lead any type of Bible reading which was the plan, but I was able to have good conversations!

    2. Laura Dianne says:

Thank you for sharing this experience, Rhonda J. I will definitely continue to remember Stacy in my prayers. I was recently in DC and saw so many sad, homeless people there. I wondered so much about their stories and how they got there. I thought, every one of them was someone’s baby at one time. I thought of them as little boys and girls, running around happy and carefree. What happened, I wondered? It really made me sad for them. Thank you for modeling for us your work among the most marginalized. I love your heart and may God bless the work that you do, for His glory!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes! I love to know their stories. There was a new lady there last night and she was a little nervous of how it worked. She lost her housing and living in her car…as several are. Simply because their rent went up and they can’t afford on their meagar wages. As was the case with another man I talked to. Thank you for praying for Stacy.

    3. Mari V says:

Good morning Rhonda! Joining our She’s in praying for Stacey! I can totally resonate as I used to be part of a ministry over 25 years ago and we ministered to sisters like Stacey. Thank you for being such an amazing friend to her.

    4. Tina says:

Rhonda, my heart beat fast at reading of Stacy and her ministering to those who were there last night! Ahh, the hand and love of God.. when He touches, when His presence is felt and known, when He sets you apart to be holy for Him, oh my…

      BUT GOD..
Bless you Rhonda, for all you do in your ministries… God is using you mightily!

      Hugs❤️

  10. Julia C says:

I have been a bit absent this week because I needed all my time, energy and attention to read through the book of Leviticus (as part of my one-year-chronological-bible plan)… It was tough and confusing at times (many times…!)

But God reminded me of the ‘why’: “I am the Lord” / “I am the Lord your God”. These phrases are highlighted blue in my Bible, FIFTY TWO (!) reminders of God’s constant character and the lengths He goes to be in our midst:

“For their sake I will remember the covenant with their fathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God; I am the LORD.” (Leviticus 26:45)

For their sake, God remembered His covenant and brought the Israelites out of Egypt. For our sake, Jesus fulfilled the Law and restored our broken relationship.

God, the giver of holiness, has set His eyes on us. May we set our eyes on Him. And may we be transformed by His Presence in our lives.

    1. Leanna Thompson says:

Fifty-two. Awesome! One for every week of the year. Thank you for sharing. I need to be reminded that He is the Lord my God.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

        Yeah, that’s good!!

  15. Tina says:

This verse reminded me of the young man I met some years ago whose first name was Godsway.! Seriously, i remember thinking, that is a BIG name! That is a big ask don’t you think..? That feels to me like a heavy load/name for a young man to carry! His every move being watched. His every word being scrutinised. His every action.. judged.. coming back to his name..

    BUT GOD..
I am sure would want us accountable in all we do, holy to Him in every way as we have been set apart by the Lord God Himself..

Lord God, Thank you that You trust me enough to be set apart by you.. help me to be as you would want me to be..
    In Jesus’s name, Amen..

Happy Saturday dear hearts.. covered in love and prayers..♥️♥️♥️

    1. Julia C says:

Amen to your prayer, Tina! I remember you told us about Godsway before. Did he share more details with you? I am curious..!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

Last night when talking to a guy coming to get food at the Homeless…(he got there too late after all our food people were gone :() But getting talking, he said he knew he is set apart for the Lord because his last name means HOLY in German. Being Holy in the Lord! He went on to say if you are not struggling and being challened by the Lord…then you aren’t a disciple of the Lord!! That Christian are going to always be challenged. He said it in a really cool way! It is amazing how you are blessed just talking to people, especially people that you would normally meet in your daily circles!!
