It reminds me of the song wonderfully made by Ellie Holcomb
You search me and know me
You know when I sit and when I rise
So you must know the choices in the pain that I hide
What if I saw me the way that you see me?
She is releasing a new album this Friday called All of my days and every song is from a different psalm.

I feel so much joy and comfort from just this first week of readings. Being reminded that God is always with me and has been this whole time has brought me happiness that I didn’t even know I needed. I am excited to see what next week brings and what truth God will reveal through His word. I pray you all have a blessed and safe weekend!

    This week’s notes:

Colossians 3:14-17 Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 1:16-20 For everything was created by Him,
    in heaven and on earth,
    the visible and the invisible,
    whether thrones or dominions
    or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 He is before all things,
and by Him all things hold together.
    18 He is also the head of the body, the church;
    He is the beginning,
    the firstborn from the dead,
so that He might come to have
    first place in everything.
19 For God was pleased to have
all His fullness dwell in Him,
20 and through Him to reconcile
    everything to Himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
    by making peace
through His blood, shed on the cross.
*AMEN!!!! He is above & before ALL things!!! He holds ALL things and reconciles everything to Himself!!! LOVE this and am SOOOO Grateful for it!!!

Acts 17:24-28 The God who made the world and everything in it—He is Lord of heaven and earth—does not live in shrines made by hands. 25 Neither is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives everyone life and breath and all things. 26 From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. 27 He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. 28 For in Him we live and move and have our being, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
    *LOVE this!!! AMEN!!!

John 1:29-34 THE LAMB OF GOD
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the One I told you about: ‘After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because He existed before me.’ 31 I didn’t know Him, but I came baptizing with water so that He might be revealed to Israel.” 32 And John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He rested on Him. 33 I didn’t know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The One you see the Spirit descending and resting on—He is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
    *SO Awesome!!!

Isaiah 66:2 My hand made all these things,
and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration.
I will look favorably on this kind of person:
one who is humble, submissive in spirit,
    and trembles at My word.
*may I be this kind of person!!!

Psalm 139:1-8 Lord, You have searched me and known me.
    2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up;
You understand my thoughts from far away.
    3 You observe my travels and my rest;
You are aware of all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue,
You know all about it, Lord.
    5 You have encircled me;
You have placed Your hand on me.
6 This wondrous knowledge is beyond me.
It is lofty; I am unable to reach it.
7 Where can I go to escape Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
    8 If I go up to heaven, You are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there.
*everywhere I go You are there God!! You KNOW me from the first cell & thought to the last cell & thought, from the inside out!!! There is no place I can go without You there!!! Thank You!!!

Many Blessings and Thanks to all you wonderful sisters!! Your prayers, encouragements and check-in’s have meant more than words could say!!! Love you ladies!!! Xoxo

  13. ERB says:

YAY!!! I am FINALLY caught up with reading all the scriptures after being consistently behind for over a week!!! I know the Mathew study is over, but I wanted to share these gems of revelation with you, that I got while reading the last of the study…

Mathew 27:34 they gave Him wine mixed with gall to drink. But when He tasted it, He refused to drink it.
*wanted to know what gall stood for (besides bitterness) so I looked it up and found this on GotQuestions. VERY Powerful and revelatory.
“In the Bible, the word gall most often refers to a bitter-tasting substance made of a plant such as wormwood or myrrh. Wine mixed with bitter herbs or myrrh created a potion that dulled the sense of pain. The mixture of sour wine and gall was often given to the suffering to ease their pain in death. Jesus refused this gall-laced concoction after He tasted it and realized what it was. In a supernatural display of courage, the Son of Man rejected anything that would numb the suffering He endured for our salvation. Sin against a holy God required extreme punishment, and, in order to completely fulfill His position as our substitute, Jesus wanted nothing that took away from that punishment. On the cross, Jesus became sin for us. To accept wine with gall would lessen sin’s punishment, and Jesus had come to bear the full brunt of God’s wrath against sin, not to take an easier way out.”

Mathew 27:22-25 Pilate asked them, “What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Christ?”
    They all answered, “Crucify Him!”
23 Then he said, “Why? What has He done wrong?”
But they kept shouting all the more, “Crucify Him!”
24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”
25 All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!”
*seeing for the first time how this interaction between Pilate and the crowd is a picture of how we are with God!! We ask and ask for our own way, God explains why this isn’t a good idea and that there will be consequences.. and finally God washes His hands and let’s us have our own way, consequences and all!! Wow!!

Mathew 28:1-20 *Wow!!! So much in here!! The fulfillment, the angel (love how he sits on top of the rolled away stone as if to say, conquered and done!! Come look at how awesome God is!!!), the lightning, the overpowering light, the fear, the joy, the trust & obedience, the immediate recognition and praise!! The call to do and be as He had instructed them!! All SO AWESOME!!! …then to realize that it was by man’s scheming, covering up and lying that the Jewish people are still deceived today!! Wow!!!

  15. Cheryl Blow says:

It’s so comforting that God knows us better than we know ourselves! When I’m feeling depressed, sad, lonely, all the emotions, I can talk to God about it and He always gives me peace and surrounds me with His love and comfort. Sometimes we have to be still to hear from Him.

    Praying for all of you!

  16. Mari V says:

HE knows where I’m at every moment! I am not alone. Never! Even when I feel alone, I’m not! HE is right beside me. HIS are the footprints in the sand. Happy Saturday sweet She’s on this VERY chilly 39 degrees California Morning.

  17. Traci Gendron says:

I want to thank you all for your prayers. My conversation went well. She said she would like to be able to text or call me this summer. She is a college student. Her mom has struggled with depression and shut Brook out. Very sad especially when you need your mom after losing your brother.

Yesterday was okay. I painted my nails North Carolina blue for the Tarheels. They are Tanner’s favorite basketball team. I would never wear blue normally…lol. Not sure how long it will last. Then I went to a vegan bakery (I have food issues) that is owned by believers. They made me a special little red velvet cake in a jar. Tanner asked me to make that cake every year for his birthday. I had moments of tears. Of missing him so much, but God is good and got me through.

  18. Aimee D-R says:

    Amen

  22. Cee Gee says:

DEB – I agree with you on the song, “Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place”!
It is one of very few that I can ‘sort of’ play on the piano. It does bring a wave of peace each time I hear it/play it.

    KELLY NEO- Amen ❤

SEARCHING – Amen, sister, and thanks so much for the prayers. Things are improving. ❤❤

Joining with you all in holding up MIA FAITH and other sisters in sorrow, distress (over jobs, circumstances, or relationships), and sickness.

As the old hymn says, may we say,

I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul.
I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul.

  23. Deb says:

Sending Saturday love and blessings to all!
A beautiful song that brings me tears every time I listen to it speaks so beautifully of God’s presence. I encourage you to find a quiet place and listen..
“Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this place”

  24. Rhonda J. says:

I am thankful for my salvation, Praise God! But there is work to do after Salvation, it’s time to get busy for the works of the Lord. Meaning..we should want to profess his name, we should want to share with the broken hearted, we should want to feed the Hungry and give living water to the thirsty.

God will ask us what we did with Jesus here after we got saved. Were we his hands and feet? Did we raise our kids up in the word, if not, are we sharing his name now? Lord help me be bold in a broken, hurting world. Let my testimony flow from my lips. My wayward heart came back to him, and he made my ashes into beauty. He restored my broken heart and gave me joy and peace. I’m I aware and grateful enough to disciple to others?

I’m putting on my warrior boots and marching for Jesus, with my hands shouting and my feet a stomping! (most days!). Sometimes I am tired, and weary, but God, he restores my soul! Awaken my soul, get up because time is short. We want to love you Lord with all our heart, soul and mind AND Time! Don’t let business let life pass you by. Put that phone away. Rejoice! Seek and bring his presence near. He searches and knows me, what a beautiful thing.

    1. Taylor Graves says:

      @ Rhonda Amen! ❤️

  25. Ada McCloud says:

    Amen

  26. Maria Baer says:

Holding you all in prayer as you go about your weekend. Blessings, sisters.

  27. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

God knows the depths of my heart – and He loves me the same. Wonderful, Merciful, Gracious Father.

@Madeleine – praying that God will put His hand on your precious baby boy and bring quick and full healing. ❤️

@Tina – thank you for remembering us all, for your thoughtful insights and for your prayers for all of us! ❤️

@Christine Baldock -yes, that is exactly how you have intimacy with God. Be in His word – pray before you read – that the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart, teach you and show you how to apply God’s word to your everyday life. And spend alone time in prayer with Him. Ask Him to enlighten you and speak to you…”ask and you will receive, seek and you will find.” ❤️

I got to spend the whole day with my daughter and new grandbaby girl yesterday, my heart is full!

Have a blessed Saturday, as Tina would say – wrapped in hugs! ❤️

  28. Michelle Patire says:

@MADELEINE – praying peace over you and your family… Hope your son is doing better and getting the help he needs ❤️ God bless you and keep you all.

@Tina – thank you, friend. It is hard to watch family struggle with things without God. It is even harder to be a target to those who are angry with God or try to say He isn’t there. But you’re right. He is the author and like @Laura Dianne believes, all is possible … My testimony is proof that God can remove scales in an instant, if we seek Him (or even if we don’t, like Saul/Paul). Thinking of you & your daughter, Laura, too. ❤️

@Traci G- May God continue to help you in the memory of your son. He is there for you and with you in your sorrow and grief. He holds dear Tanner in His embrace. I pray you hold onto Him until you see them both face to face… ❤️ You are loved ❤️

    @Searching ❤️❤️

@Mercy ❤️ I loved your post yesterday about marriage and Christ. ❤️ It is definitely something that comforts me in my singleness. I try to imagine the Lord going with me to places when I’m alone, as a companion and husband. He will forever be that, single or not… Longing with you for the moment we see Him. Hope your earthly husband is doing ok these days. God bless you ❤️

    ❤️

  29. Kelly (NEO) says:

“You understand my thoughts from far away.”

Reading the passage in different translations, the NLT puts it this way, “You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.”

Turned the verse around for me. Let’s face it if there is any “distance” between God and me, it is my doing.

    Loved your comments yesterday, ladies.

    TINA ❤️

HEIDI – hope things are okay with you and yours

MADELEINE – praying the Lord bring relief to your little one’s labored breathing and peace to your heart and mind.

  32. A Walton says:

Update on our land purchase- we should be signing the deed on Monday! I can hardly believe it. Now on to the craziness of building a house. Whew! I have not been doing so well recently. I have so much on my plate and I don’t have much time to rest. Homeschooling 3 kids, breastfeeding twins (and even though they are 16 months, they aren’t weaning well- they are still breastfeeding 4-7x a day! I feed them food too!), dealing with my youngest son’s anger issues, my oldest son’s random-things-he-does-that-bother-his-siblings issues I find I hardly have time to cook or clean let alone do anything enjoyable. Even when we try to do something enjoyable it’s hard as someone is unhappy. It’s hard to have peace and joy in my life because I feel I am always dealing with issues. Building a house is something I really didn’t want to do, but this is obviously God’s plan and I am thankful for his provision.
