Happy Saturday she’s, praise God for sunshine today, hopefully all day every day . Amen to the response of Kelly (Neo), Searching and Rhonda J on the spiritual gifts. Speaking in tongues and “falling down” are by God’s power. That got me confused at first too. I used to hear a man of God testified that it’s like an invisible bomb went off and you got pushed. And another worship leader when singing, she said she could not stand on stage when God’s glory came (as worship ushers God’s presence), it pushed her down and she had to be down on the floor on her knees singing. Meanwhile others might have thought she knelt out of reverence…but nope. Amazing isn’t it? The Bible told us to “desire earnestly the spiritual gifts, especially we may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14:1). So it’s encouraging to desire and ask God to give us the gifts He sees fit that we may help the body. My husband one time spoke to an elder lady in the worship team (long time back before we got married, we were dating and going to church together on Sunday). He never told anyone about his mom abandoned him when he was 2 years old, sensitive for him, and somehow this lady just prophesied about this detail of his past. She just told him don’t seek love from your mom because she can’t give you what she doesn’t have, seek love from God. Humble lady and you never knew she had the gift of prophesy that could unknot the childhood & lifelong pain for him. It brought him closure. Praying for you dear sisters (RHONDA, DOROTHY, TAMI’s daughter and other she’s). Joining you in prayers. Be blessed dear sisters.

Thank you for clarification of gifts. Very helpful! Mía praying for you and your family. Rhonda for your back pain. Praying for a peaceful Sat for all!

Sisters, on Thursday evening my sister, Carol, was moved to a hospice house. Yesterday she did well but today she is not doing as well. Her blood pressure is real low and her skin is moddling again. She is having labored breathing despite the medicines. Thank you for all your prayers.

Be blessed and know God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are at your side all the time, as I know this now.

It is the SRT and other devotionals that have kept me going this last week and a half.

  8. Caprice Robinson says:

I pray that god gives you the willpower to start doing yoga to help and gives you the money to see a chiropractor about it.

Hi! I’m popping back on. I’m reading the Enduring Word commentary online from John 17 in which Jesus prayed and what we read during our last study. I thought this part was very helpful and gave a way to pray for unbelievers. Here is what is written in the commentary: a. You have given Him authority over all flesh: Jesus claimed to have authority over all flesh with the ability to give eternal life to mankind. This is a clear and startling claim to deity; no One but God could truthfully and knowingly make this claim.

    i. Jesus here claimed “authority to determine the ultimate destiny of men.” (Takser)

ii. This gives us new hope for evangelism and missionary work, knowing that Jesus has authority over all flesh. Even for those who reject Jesus or are ignorant of Him, even if they do not know it or acknowledge it, Jesus has authorityover them. We can pray in faith and ask Jesus to exercise that authority over those who have yet to repent and believe.

iii. You have given Him authority over all flesh: Philippians 2:5-11 is a demonstration of this, that all will recognize the authority of Jesus; every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Wow! Praying for Jesus to exercise His authority over those who have yet to repent and believe. Amen!

I’m reading through comments from today and yesterday. I usually am on very early in the morning and don’t see what is written after. I started tearing up. In agreement with the prayers said and will pray now too. I teach and there is a lot going on in schools and all around.
I pray that everyone living and breathing today, by God’s grace and mercy, would be drawn to see Him rightly and their sin rightly. I pray that they would have an encounter with the living God and be changed for ever! I ask that they cry out in repentance and feel the joy of forgiveness! I pray that they and we would hate what God hates and love what He loves. I ask that laws and standards be changed, because the Bible becomes the Standard on how to live. I ask that all care more about what God thinks than men, and that His name is glorified and praised! May we all be overwhelmed by God’s power, mercy, and grace! Amen

    Good morning She’s!

Could you please say a prayer for my back pain, it is really getting me this morning. :/

I love that the word says that we are a new person with the Spirit in us. I look back over my life though and see that we really have to pray and let the Spirit be forefront in our life, too many times my flesh still wanted to run the show. Although we are not saved by works, if we have faith the more “works” we will WANT to do for the Lord and to be his hands and feet. Then we recognize the Spirit more and more by walking in that faith. We see a lot of church people that get saved accepting the Lord, but yet they only go to church weekly and then there is no evidence in their lives, which in turn turns off non-believers. Non-believers don’t see the worth in it, or worse, see christians as hypocritical in their actions. How do we figure this out? I am a life long follower, but am just now, in my fifties, really seeing all the fruits flowing out. Sigh. Confusing sometimes. But I don’t want to be lukewarm, I want to rejoice and scream from the rooftops, and let people SEE the evidence of my Lord and Saviour!! Thank you God, thank you.

Tami C- The gift of tongues/interpretation is another one of those misunderstood areas. I think Kelly said it well. I really only remember seeing a few broadcast flipping channels of people “falling down” and speaking in tongues, and dismissing it as crazy. lol But again, being more a mature Christian now, I know it is a gift, and not meant for everyone just like the other gifts.

  12. Jeanie Mclellan says:

    Amen

  13. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

A new heart and a new spirit – hallelujah! Forever grateful that God has redeemed me and given me new life!!

@Heidi – praying for your housing situation. May God give you and your husband the wisdom to know what to do each step of the way – especially for your summer plans. May His will be done.
@Mia Faith – I am so, so sorry to hear of the loss of your son and the attempted suicide of your 14 year old grandchild. How sad it is for our young people to be without hope. May God give you His perfect peace and continue to comfort your heart. I pray that your grandchild will find healing, know that they are loved and be able to grasp the love that Jesus has for them.
@Mary Walsh – Welcome to the SRT community!

    Ladies have a blessed Saturday!

  14. Kelly (NEO) says:

Thanks be to God that He is the one who changes my stoney heart.

HEIDI – how is your niece doing? Praying the Lord gives you clear direction

MIA FAITH – standing in the gap for you and your family! Lord, in Jesus’ name, I ask that You erect a hedge of protection around the enemy’s attacks of Mia’s family. Pour out a supernatural peace on them. Open their eyes to see You and to turn to You for wisdom and comfort. Bring healing and wholeness, especially to her grandchild.

TAMI C – adding my two cents about the baptism of the Holy Spirit/speaking in tongues. As one who has experienced both, I would urge you to trust God with the gifts He has already given you. Ernestly seek Him and to manifest His love to those around you. (1Cor.12:4-11, 27- 13:13) Should your circle of influence benifit from the addional gifts, God will see to it you have them.

  15. Donna Wolcott says:

Thank you Lord for a new heart. Please open my eyes and ears also. On this Earth Day, may we look around and see the beauty of God’s creation and help neaten it up a little.

  16. Searching says:

The old me was, as the saying goes, a train wreck :(. So thankful for the new me in Christ, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance in the challenges of life.

AZ WALKER – praying for your daughter’s safety and the soundness of her car for this traveling. If there are times when the clinicals are multiple days in a row, is there a possibility of her staying overnight, or carpooling if there others are doing clinicals in same or nearby location?

TAMI C – praying for relief’s of Chela’s anxiety and thankful for the encouraging news on Rich’s health. Throwing out my 2 cents on your pondering about our spiritual gifts – we know that the Holy Spirit lives inside each of us that are saved, and after many years as a Christian I am still a work in progress on realizing and uncovering just what my gifts are. Part of my growing up was in a fundamental nondenominational church where I do believe people sought the Lord sincerely – even if their beliefs were at times misguided. When I look back and as my own faith has matured, in my opinion they were overly focused on receiving the gift of speaking in tongues. I never received that gift and was straight out told that it meant I wasn’t saved – what a thing to tell a child/tween/teen. That being said, I can clearly remember times of someone speaking in tongues and the interpretation being delivered eloquently, confidently and boldly by someone without much education and no experience in public speaking.

MERCY – likewise, and love you, sister! You got my attention with “joint heirs” – wow! I knew that but had not thought of my salvation in that context recently.

MARY WALSH – welcome! Heads up that, ready or not, the app will post what you’ve written each time you click the return/enter. I usually start the day with Bible study by reading through the previous day’s comments, making note of prayer requests and then moving into the current day’s scriptures and devo. It’s a great community.

RHONDA J – continuing to pray for your grandson and granddaughter

MIA FAITH – my heart goes out to you, sister, and will be praying for your grandchild to feel your love and especially Christ’s love, and for you to all feel the strength, comfort and encouragement that comes from Jesus.

KIMBERLY Z – praying for you this weekend

SHARON, JERSEY GIRL – one thing I thought of when you talked about gift envy was the saying about the grass being greener on the other side of the fence. I love to see and hear people sing or play an instrument – I can’t do either one. But would I want to climb over that fence and give up a gift I have? When we see lush green lawns, they are typically that way because they have been watered, weeded, fertilized and well taken care of. Hmmm, I have just given myself a lot to think about in terms of how I’m handling what I do have …

HEIDI – will join you in prayer as you and Ryan think through your options. It sounds exciting and if your family needed a breather at some point, the VRBO will be there.

Thinking about VICTORIA E, GRAMSIESUE, KARRIE, LYNNE FROM AL, ERB, both ANGIE’s, MARTHA HIX, CHURCHMOUSE, SUSAN, JENNIFER LOVES JESUS, TINA and others ❤️
