Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Hebrews 13:15

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Love this! And I was so frustrated with myself after saying things I shouldn’t of said. It’s weird how I can change depending who I’m around. It’s hard to navigate this life …I prayed and asked for forgiveness and guidance to be better.

  2. Kimberly Z says:

@Traci G. So sorry for the hurtful words that were said too. After my dads accident with attempted suicide a friend of his asked me how he was doing after a major surgery he had just had. When I replied he was having a hard time with everything he responded with well what did he think was going to happen? It was extremely hurtful because obviously his goal was to not be here anymore. Praying for you heart but also for that friend that maybe her heart can be softened as well.

Happy Saturday Everyone! Tracy, I’m so sorry your friend is so confused & has hurt you so deeply. I’ll be praying that she gains understanding of what Christ’s salvation truly means & for a healing for your heart.
I’m also asking for prayers, please. My sister took my mom to emergency last evening for heart palpitations & shortness of breath that was coming & going. They were doing all these different tests, x-rays, scans. 1st news…tons of polyps in chest, cancer, but looking for origin. Final diagnosis is uterine cancer. She’s 90. We don’t have much info yet. We live in Northern California, she’s in Reno. My sister is in Reno, but she still works full time & has college age twins living at home. It’s going to mean some major changes coming.
    Thanks.

Often people say things that sting and hurt. God has a plan for us even though we do not understand it. “Thy will be done”

Hello sisters. I am traveling again this weekend for a wedding and would appreciate prayers for sciatic pain. So far I’m doing great!

Traci Gendron in the book of Job the 14 chapter it tells us that our bond(time that we have here) is set and we can not pass around it. This verse has comforted me as I’ve had loved ones die, some too soon in my opinion. God has determined how long we will be here and that has nothing to do with one’s faith, prayers or anything. I hope that I’m expressing my thoughts so that you understand what I’m trying to say. God has the final say so over all of our lives.

  7. Cheryl Blow says:

Beautiful! I was saved at a young age too! My parents were always there for me. But oh I do remember the powerful draw of a loving Savior. We only want my Christmas and Easter until my brother was going for his Eagle

  8. Cynthia Johnston says:

May I share my story? I came to Christ as a child when my grandmother took me to Vacation Bible School in 1971. Child Evangelism Fellowship shared the Wordless book. My heart was dark with sin until the Savior came in to wash me clean as snow in order that I may grow to walk the streets of gold. My earthly father abandoned our family when I was four years old. When I heard I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and sent Jesus to die for me I grabbed on with both hands. Jesus has been with me ever since. What is your story?

Happy Saturday sweet She’s. It’s a cloudy day here in sunny California and heading out soon for a long distance run walk again! I read through all the comments here this morning, and praying for you all. It led me to the acronym for THINK. I believe it was Pastor Greg Laurie that I heard him say to THINK before we speak. Is it Thoughtful? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind? If it’s neither of those things, then we shouldn’t say it. Hope this helps somebody out there. ALSO, from my mother’s heart, please pray for my son. He knows he made the right decision about a relationship, yet he goes back-and-forth and he’s broken, but he knows he did the right thing, but doubt comes to his mind. Please pray he will remain steadfast and strong and believe that he is doing what God wants him to do.

  10. Mari says:

@Traci Gendron, praying for you sweet girl. I’m sorry to hear about what’s been said to you. And agree with the others that maybe they need to read the book of Job. And this is also when we need to exercise the phrase “think before we speak” or better yet “pray before we speak”. I’m so sorry Traci please know you are covered in prayers here.

    Beautiful

Traci G, I believe the book of Job was given to show us how to comfort someone who has suffered. We are not to judge or give our opinions but lovingly be present with them and pray for them. We live in an imperfect world and bad things happen to believers. Just know God loves you and sees you.
Just like Job pray for those who say hurtful things and ask God to help you to forgive them. I am praying for you!

  14. Jen S says:

TRACI, I’ve heard the same (too many times). The tongue has power. As Christians we also need to be careful how we receive what is said. When we are rooted in the Truth, no accusation can stick and that includes false theological assumptions of others. We then have the opportunity to humbly come alongside and speak truth and correction. Truth sets us free. Psalm 19:14 and Phil 4:8

  15. Dorothy says:

Traci I’m so sorry about what is happening with you. I know it is rough losing a child, I lost my older son almost 20 years ago. I’ll be praying for you and your friends. And no it’s not due to lack of faith. My ex-husband blamed me for my son’s death because I let go and swim in the creek that was way out it’s banks, when I didn’t even know what my son was doing.

  16. Rebecca W says:

Good morning Shes! It’s my son’s birthday today and I praise God for the healing he has done and continues to do in his life. @ Dorothy, I love that hymn and will listen. Thanks for sharing. @Tracy, praying for comfort for your broken heart over a hurtful remark that is blatantly untrue. May you feel Christ’s arms around you.

  17. Sarah Parsons says:

Jesus has fulfilled the promise, let us praise Him

  18. Traci Gendron says:

I’m a bit frustrated this morning. I have a friend visiting that basically said people do not receive miracles because they don’t have strong enough faith. She believes her daughter received one. I’m not going to go into detail. So of course, I took that as she didn’t think Tanner received one because he didn’t have enough faith. What about the pastors wife that dies from cancer? Did they not have enough faith. I’m a bit mad at the moment. I also had a client say people are sick because of their sins. Not a way to word that to a new mother that just found out her 14 month old has a rare illness. I carried that comment with me for years. As christians we need to be careful what we say and how we say things to others. Especially others that are going through something tough. I need God to take these feelings from me!

  19. Dorothy says:

So in the study book between yesterday’s scripture and today’s scripture is the hymn “Crown Him With Many Crowns”. I had to listen to it, Michael W. Smith has a beautiful version of it on YouTube for anyone who wants to listen to it. I feel like the last sentence of this hymn says it all, “Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.” HALLELAJUH!!!!

Be blessed and PRAISE God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit ALL the day long sisters.

  20. Pam Stayer says:

  21. Donna Wolcott says:

Peace and love sisters from the Northeast.

  22. Nancy S says:

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm19:4

  23. Jeanie Mclellan says:

    Amen

  24. Rhonda J. says:

    Good Morning She’s!

I read through all of Hebrews 13, it is so good, full of bullet points to remember. I especially like the reminder to LOVE everyone, even those down and out. Who knows…one might be an angel! Can you imagine?! Have you ever talked to someone unknowing.. then.. they were someone that you immediately knew their name when they said it and had that quick thought “oh my gosh, hope I didn’t say the wrong thing…”

Hebrews 13: Let brotherly love continue. 2 Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.f 3 Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated,B as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.

Let us remember as we speak today, and through the wkd (even to our spouses/kids!) to guard our lips, letting only the fruits leave our mouth. And when we fail, to apologize, repent, and try to do better. The victory comes with the work of the Spirit. We cannot do it on our own, we can try and try and we will be discouraged. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you- give me patience…give me your power, and let the infilling each day give you the strength and discipline to use your tongue wisely.

  25. Aimee D-R says:

Father I pray that my son Jonah will know that you are with him every moment as he swims his state Champs this weekend. Reward his faith, forgive his doubt. In Jesus name, Amen

  26. Kelly (NEO) says:

We cannot even praise God well without Jesus. It is only “through Him” that our lips produce a sacrifice that is acceptable.

Enjoy this day the Lord has made!

  27. Searching says:

Verse of the day on Bible Gateway is Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” NKJV
Which synced for me with today’s verse, Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. NKJV

“the fruit of our lips” … that stopped me in my tracks. Will there be fruit today? Will others see & hear love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in my actions and words? (Galatians 5:22 CSB).

Thanking Him this morning (& throughout the day) for so many things, especially that the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.

Praying for my SRT sisters! ❤️
