Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Matthew 7:7-8

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

I am also interested in a sub group! Let’s get it started, ladies! I am so encouraged by the support here! Thank you for being servants.

  8. Susan Lincks says:

    I knock a lot.

  9. Lehua K. says:

Rhonda J: I would love to be part of a sub group. I’ve been adding prayer requests to my PrayerMate list and have a tough time keeping track of how everyone has been doing, because I have fallen behind a bit with the readings. But I also don’t want to rush ahead for the wrong reasons as well.

  11. Karen S says:

    Amy,
Glad you saw my post and happy it is an international adoption. My husband and I did one of those years ago. Praying everything goes well.

  12. Annie says:

    Interested in sub group!

  13. Kimberly Z says:

Also interested in the sub group ☺️

  14. Michelle Baier says:

I am definitely interested in a subgroup!

  15. Mandi D says:

I would be interested in a sub group. I pray over the requests in the group but rarely comment because I can’t get the “reply to” feature to work and then I think my response gets lost in the many comments

  16. Amy Detweiler says:

We are doing an international adoption, so the process is different and using just a facilitator is out of the question. I’m so glad to here she had a different, and good, experience!!

  17. GramsieSue says:

    Yes! Interested in a subgroup!

  18. Jeanie Mclellan says:

    Love

  19. Karen S says:

Amy. I’m not sure if you will see this in time. My daughter adopted. She researched a LOT. They were going to use an agency but the cost was crazy. They ended up using a facilitator and within 5 months after finishing their home study through a private company, they had a baby. My grandson is such a joy! We were at the birth and brought him home from the hospital. She is happy to share with others what she learned about this different process. I am happy to share my info so I can connect you to her. I hope you see this. I do not usually check SRT on the weekend but I did today and saw your comment. Praying you will see this as agencies can have years wait with lots of money spent and no adoption..

  20. Truth Seeker says:

RHONDA J. SAYS: to start a sub-group of She’s that we could commune and bond, pray for, and actually reply back directly to each other? Perhaps in a facebook group of She’s? I could create, or in messenger with telephone numbers? Then we could put things like above comment ^^^ that I don’t really like to post here? Hope that makes sense! Would anyone be interested

    Yes Interested !

    I love these grace days

  23. Arina says:

Kelly – Thank you for asking! My new job has been going well. I’m enjoying it more than I expected. The only downside is that I need to leave very early, so I often don’t have time to comment here. But I’m still reading with ya’ll and praying for the requests.

Rhonda – I’m definitely in for a subgroup. As far as I know, I’m the only Christian at my work and it has made me long for deeper Christian community. Thankful for all you She’s here and the encouragement you give!

  24. Amy Detweiler says:

Morning! I’ve been reading SRT, and therefore these comments, for about a year now but only post occasionally. I love seeing how God teaches everyone different things from the same readings, the diversity He has created is amazing! If you would all pray for my “ask,” on Monday my husband and I will be submitting our paperwork to officially start using an adoption agency, paperwork to start the home study process, and hopefully schedule our psych evaluation for our adoption. While we aren’t worried (Ladies, the peace of God is SOOO real), those things have huge price tags attached and this is just the beginning. God will provide, I have no doubts about that, but I do need to be on my knees asking for His provision daily.

  25. Gwineth52 says:

Good Morning Sister Shes on this Grace-Given Saturday.

    What the Good Book says.
    Ask. Seek. Knock.
    Accept. Savor. Keep.
    Again. Sacrifice. Kneel.
    Amen. Secure. Know.

    What our Good God…
    Understands.
    Reveals.
    Lays bare.
    With love.

    Beyond our imagination!

  26. Traci Gendron says:

SHANNON MORGAN – Your comment yesterday opened my eyes!
MOLLY ROHRER – I will keep your family in my prayers.
RHONDA JOHNSON – Whenever I have been extremely stressed I drop weight. I lost 15 pounds in 2021 watching Tanner nearing his end. I understand completely. It does just fall off. It’s like my worrying burns through any calories I consume. I think a sub group could be awesome. I have wanted to comment directly to someone here on SRT and can’t ever get it to work. I have noticed some have managed, but I’m not sure how.
    CHURCHMOUSE – Yes!

  27. Mari V says:

May I always find myself asking, seeking and knocking. Jesus Will always be there for me no matter what my situation is. I will Ask knowing sometimes the answer is going to be no. And that’s OK because He knows best. I will continue to Seek because He is faithful and I will continue to Knock because He will ALWAYS open the door for me.. Good morning and happy Saturday sweeties. It’s not so pretty outside, kinda yucky. Please pray for me because I’m getting behind the wheel for the first time since the accident. I’ll be using my son’s car and I’m a little afraid.

  28. MARTHA HIX says:

Good morning She’s! I feel so close to you all reading your insightful and reflective messages that educate and inspire me. Thank you also for sharing personally and for the opportunity to pray along with you.
I would join in a sub group, Rhonda, if you start one.
Thank you for praying for me and remembering me in your comments. It is such a blessing to know you all! ❤️

  29. Lolly Regan says:

I’ve been asking the Lord to open a door to this discipleship program that I really want to go to. But I can’t decide if it’s selfish of me to ask for this…. I know it’s because I want to grow and experience more in relationship and faith with God but I also deeply desire to travel. Oh Lord my God, I ask for this door to open. I know it’s a big ask but truly I just want to trust in your greatness. But Lord I also ask that if the door is not opened that your greatness is revealed through that too and that peace overtakes my heart. Amen

  30. Molly Rohrer says:

My dad has been in the hospital since last Sunday (after falling at home). He broke his right hip and his right shoulder. He had surgery last Monday on his hip. The plan was to get him stabilized and started on some PT in preparation to move to a rehab center for a couple months. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s several years ago, so this complicates the situation. Over the course of the week it would appear that he is essentially “giving up” and has requested hospice care instead of a rehab facility.
Obviously this is a lot to process and we will be taking this “day of rest” to let the dust settle, give my parents time to process it, and then start to make some decisions with my siblings on the future. We are all believers and very thankful to be resting in God during this hard time. Thank you, She’s, for praying for us!

A separate group sounds good. I would be interested. There are so many posts on here it’s hard to read through all of them and find people. I am on Facebook. I also understand what you mean about losing weight. I am actually at a healthy weight right now but, in 2017 I lost my fiancé and I dropped down to 96 pounds. I met my husband at the end 2017 and we married over Thanksgiving break in 2018. I I reached 105 and stayed there until Covid hit and then I finally was able to gain a little bit of weight, since I was working from home. So I understand your struggle and yes it is different than the struggles most people have and not a lot of people understand because a lot of people struggle with losing weight but I understand exactly what you’re going through.

  33. Cara P says:

Never give up. i have a sign in my house that says: Pray more and worry less! Give our prayers and concerns to God. He’s waiting to hear from us and that makes his day! Night! We are His everything!

  34. Sandi Stanley says:

Prayers for you Avery that God will reveal himself through the process and that you can feel His constant presence. It sounds like your children are very blessed to have you as their momma. Prayers.

  35. Carol M says:

Dear SRT sisters… Would you please join me in praying through this verse for our son , his wife and 3 teens who have stepped away from church ( previously very active) deconstructing their faith.. still believe in God and Jesus, but are disillusioned with the church and questioning everything.. looking to man rather than the Word for their answers. Recently She has been diagnosed with breast cancer… appears to be stage 1, but a fast moving cancer… When I read those verses this morning, I felt the Lord quicken them to my heart… THIS!! THIS is where we ( and they) need to turn! Please join me in praying it will be so! Thank you! ♥️

  36. Dorothy says:

Sisters, I am here to say there ARE still good, kind and honest people out there in the world!!! Twice in one week I found this out. On Thursday, a young boy, maybe in his late teens or early twenties saw me taking a large bag of trash to the dumpster and put his things down and said “Here let me take that.” He took my bag of trash and within a couple of minutes was right back. I thanked him and gave him a couple of dollars and told him, “Your momma taught you right.” Well, I believe his mom was with him because the older lady with him just grinned from ear to ear when I said that. Then last evening I lost my keys, after looking for 4 hours straight, checking with the office of my apartment complex, having a locksmith come and paying for that — and they weren’t in the car. I had sat down to take a break from looking and eat something, my neighbor knocked on my door and asks if I lost my keys. He wouldn’t accept anything except a thank you — I believe he works late that’s why he had been by earlier. So sisters, twice in one week, God showed me His glory and that there are good people out there still.

Be blessed and don’t give up hope on anyone or anything sisters.

  37. Avery PiconeCassagnol says:

Hey she’s, I don’t normally post, but I do read all of yours and they bless me immensely. Todays verse hit in a place I have been struggling in for quite some time. I have been asking, pleading for help in selling my business (it was a purchase I made to secure my and mine children future and really what they need is me, so many things have been happening with my children since the acquisition) and also help with the anxiety that the whole process has brought and to heal my family. As we get closer to having a closing date and closing, my anxiety is worse and worse and I fear something going awry with the deal. I don’t stand to make money in fact it will be a loss and that is ok. I’m finding it hard to pray these days; and need relief and closure. Please, if you could, pray and ask for these things with me.

  39. Rhonda J. says:

    Good Morning She’s!
Happy Saturday to you! It’s a cold wkd here in SWF, which is rare! I felt really sad about our Friday night “feeding the hungry” in the park last night and again this morning as I am snuggled in my heated house under a cozy blanket. Oh the things we take for granted. They were definitely “poor in spirit” and forebodingly anticipating the cold temps that were/are coming today and tomorrow. I pray for a way to help them, but know it is such a challenge, so I just go and move amongst them to see who wants to interact/chat. I try to encourage them to “ask and seek” to “knock” on the door, that God hears them, but it mostly seems to fall on closed ears. They don’t want a sermon, they don’t want the rattling off of these words, so I don’t, I just have conversation. Sometimes that’s all we can do I suppose?

My other concern this morning weighing on me is my health. My weight has dropped significantly over the last year, and even more in the last 6 months. I have always lost weight when something stressful happens in my life (I know, you think, that would be awesome), but no, it’s not a good thing for myself already being thin. Yesterday when they weighed me at my doctor’s apt. it was really shocking, very concerning, unhealthy drop. I have no idea why, as my diet and exercise have not changed at all. You hate for your mind to go to that place of fear- what disease do I have? Could I have something serious happening about to change my life? Anyway, I could use prayer that it is nothing serious and that I can put on some weight. (most think that it is just a matter of eating more, but much more complex than that which I won’t take time to explain.)

Love you my friends, my She’s! I was thinking it might be nice to start a sub-group of She’s that we could commune and bond, pray for, and actually reply back directly to each other? Perhaps in a facebook group of She’s? I could create, or in messenger with telephone numbers? Then we could put things like above comment ^^^ that I don’t really like to post here? 40. Samantha M. says:

Totally get you! I love when God meets

  41. Kelly (NEO) says:

Not just keep asking, but asking with the right motivation. James wrote “What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure” (4:1-3 NLT).

MERCY – thanks for the kind words ❤
GRAMSIESUE – I’m not seeing your post, but based on others’ comments sounds like things are well with the new grandbaby (Jack?) and your daughter

  42. lily robillard says:

    Amen

  43. Searching says:

Amen, CHURCHMOUSE ❤️ This brought the saying to mind “keep on keeping on” as we seek, knock and ask.

ELIM ALMKVIST – praying for your health, wisdom and guidance from the right doctors
ALLISON LYNCH – praying for your health and your baby’s health
MARI V – still praying about your car situation, and thankful you and your daughter are ok
K – praying for your friend, her family and legal situation
RHONDA J – praying for your new small group. You are an inspiration!
    MERCY – ❤️
VICTORIA REDIG – my take on Jesus saying tell or don’t tell is that it was either about location (His audience so to speak) or timing – would they listen, would they riot?

  44. Andrea P says:

    ❤️

  45. Jo says:

Yes Churchmouse! Let’s keep on praying, asking, seeking. Never giving up! Thank you for that stirring of faith xx

  46. Jo says:

I experienced this verse in action this morning
“Ask and it shall be given”- I committed to the Lord a task which I always have difficulties with and I finished it without any hitches and in good time! Hallelujah! I am so encouraged to receive practical answers to my simple prayers and that He is interested in my small things as well as the big things. Have a blessed day She’s xx

  47. Churchmouse says:

Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking. Isn’t that what we are doing each time we pray? Our God graciously draws near and hears our prayers, every one, every time. We can be fickle followers yet He remains faithful. Let us pray.
